Flashback continues…
Micheal burst through the door of the inn only to find it devoid of any one’s presence, except the dead body of the high lord's daughter. There was no presence of the other vampire. He smiled in satisfaction when he saw Ophelia’s body, finally she could continue her wretched love story with Uriel in the next life. But the smile faded from his face when he looked down at her feet where the puddle of blood was, and a placenta. It took nothing for him to understand what had happened here. The child has been born. “N..no!” He said in disbelief, at the realization that he had been fooled. He dashed out of the inn and transformed in his wolf form, anger radiating off him and fear of losing his own life if this gets out that Ophelia’s child lives! He howled, alerting the park of what was happening, looking up at the blood red sky that had drastically changed form. The sign that the cursed child lives before he dashed out in a hunt for the child and the vampire. With her scent lingering in the air, he was able to trace her with only one thought in his mind, to kill her. Meanwhile, with the child nestled in his arm, Eros raced across the woods in a hurry to get her to safety, away from the people that wanted her dead. It still fazed him how the high lord didn’t do anything to help his only child, hence his greed for power was too alarming. He looked down at the child, Seraphina, a beauty made for a rare beauty like her. With his emotionless eyes looking on her enchanting green eyes, he felt something in his heart. Maybe it has to do with the fact that she’s sharing his life force. He didn’t know but all he knew at this point is he’s going to protect her, as long as she’s with him no harm will come near her. It’s been long he felt such a need to protect someone that wasn’t family. Thanks to her grandfather, but he didn’t see her differently despite the blood flowing through her nerves, until he paused at the realization of what his father wanted to do with her. There was no way that his father was going to spare Ambrose’s blood, and he’s been searching for ways to payback for what he has done, until he found one. This child! “What am i going to do with you?” He mumbled, running her little finger that was wrapped around one of his fingers. He smiled when she giggled at his words as if she knew what he was talking about. He didn’t want her dead, not when she’s sharing the same birthmark with him, and that needs an explanation, one that his father is the only one to provide, regardless of what he wants to do with her. He felt his mark burn, but not in a painful way. No, it was soothing that all he wanted was to stop time, so that he can spend more time with her. She’s so beautiful, yet her beauty was a danger to their existence since no one knew what she was yet. But looking at her right now, she doesn't look like what will bring the world to ruin. Eros was so mesmerized with the child that his mind skipped the part of Micheal, chasing after them. Neither did he take notice of the change ever since she was born, the red sky was too noticeable to any night creature. A rare sight that would have one question what was happening, but all his attention was on her. Seraphina. When he tried to look up , a strong gust of wind rolled him and the baby out, which made him land on the floor, with Seraphina falling from his hands. “Noo!” Eros yelled, watching as she slipped from his arms . It was all too fast that he didn’t know when Micheal attacked them, nor did he see his twin brother appear out and catch the young child before she could reach the ground. “I guess I’m late, brother.” Azriel said, carrying Seraphina in one of his arms which made Eros glare at him, for mindlessly carrying her like she doesn’t matter and snatched Seraphina from his arms. Micheal glared at the two brothers, a growl leaving his lips which drew their attention back to the enemy, no, enemies, looking around there were three more wolves that joined the cue. They are all surrounded. “Where the hell is father?” Eros asked, calculating the cons and pros of this fight. He had no loss to lose because he can take care of this nuisance, in such a short while but he was more concerned of the little child’s safety more than anything. “You wouldn’t believe how fucked up shit has been since after that baby was born.” Azriel said, making Eros' interest in the girl rise the more. “ I don’t care about none of that.” Eros growled, “take care of her.” He said, handling Seraphina back to him even before Azriel could tell him the reason why he came back for him. It was for him to get rid of the child, but instead his attention was fixed on his brother. He seemed different. Azriel watched the way he mercilessly killed the werewolves who didn’t run for their life, instead died at the cruel hands of his brother, leaving their leader kneeling in front of Eros, looking beaten to a pulp. Micheal was barely breathing. Yet, he still managed to ask Eros. “W..who are..you?” Eros looked down at him without any sympathy, he was pissed off. Just the thought of him laying his hands on Seraphina has him ripping his heart out of his body as Azriel watched. He had never seen his brother like this, he looked like he was going on a mostrous rage. Eros pushed a lifeless Micheal to the floor, just then Seraphina’s loud cry made him speed up to where he was with his brother. With his bloody hands, he tried taking her from Azriel. “You look different,” Azriel said, still holding onto the chille trying to take his mind away from the child. He was studying Eros and the baby all long to notice something. “You gave her your life force!” Azriel panicked, looking at him because he had gone crazy. “I shared it with her, dummy.” Eros replied, taking the child out his arms into his own, not caring that it was bloody. “Are you crazy? She’s cursed!” Azriel yelled at him. Eros saw red at his statement, it felt unjust hearing that coming from Azriel’s mouth. “She’s different, Just like me!” He defended her. Azriel was shocked, clearly his brother has lost his goddamn mind. He tied his soul with Lord Ambrose’s daughter? “Father wants her dead.” Azriel said, not caring about his opinion with whatever she is. Eros looked at him as if he had lost his mind.”No, he’s hiding something from me and with her i can find answers.” Azriel was pissed off. It was as if he wasn’t thinking straight. “Her life is in danger already Eros, it’s alarming that you shared your life force with her. We don’t need the high lord bringing his army to us because of her.” “He doesn’t know that she lives.”Eros stated, before an unfamiliar voice interrupted their discussion. “That’s where you are wrong boy, hand her over to me and you get to live.” Azriel gasped when he looked at their back to see Lord Ambrose’s army, they arrived right on time. Eros growled, he was ready to fight but Azriel shaked his head at him, stoping him from making any rash decision. He looked at the army. Then towards the sky, the sun would soon set and time was what none of them had, yet he didn’t plan on handing Seraphina over to them. “We can’t risk our identities, Eros. Hand the child over. “Azriel said. “Fine.” Eros grumbled, before taking off his necklace and put it on the young child who looked at him with a questionable look on her face as if he knew what was going on. He has a lot of things he’s going to come back to take from her, but for the necklace, he let her have it. He took a step towards the vampire who was waiting, only to turn back and handed Seraphina over to Azriel, who knew right from the beginning that he wasn’t letting her go. “Run!” Eros said. He would rather die out here in the sun than to let them take Seraphina. Her grandfather took his mother and sister away from him, so he has no right to take her. Seraphina belongs to him!“And i will always protect you, my love. But first, I need to find you.”Seraphina snapped her eyes open to connect with familiar gray walls, she was at the packs infirmary. “Get up, you lazy bag of bone!” The angry voice of the Luna, Margaret, woke up the young lady that fell asleep halfway doing the chores assigned to her. A loud slap followed behind even before Seraphina could fully comprehend what was going on. “Mother,” Seraphina called with sleepy eyes, that was long gone at the vicious stares she was getting from the Luna of the Midnight park. Tears threatened to fall from her face at the harsh treatment , but she knew better than to give her more reason to mistreat her. At the utterance of that word, Seraphina knew that she had committed a huge crime, because the last thing Margaret would ever do was to acknowledge the fact that a weak werewolf, abandoned right in front of the park house eighteen years ago, will be her flesh and blood. No! That was nothing but a hopeless wish that young Seraphina knew wasn’t going to come true. With her stomach grumbling from lack of food since yesterday, dark circles under her eyes, she looked more like a z
