Back to the party

"We should get back to the party," I said.

Jasper kissed the side of my head. "There is no rush." He kissed my cheek, then tilted my head so he can kiss my lips. "I love you, Jordan."

I gazed into his eyes, knowing that his words were true.

After laying in each other's arms for a while, Jasper glanced at his watch.

"We should really go back to the party."

I got up to turn the lights on, when I got back to where Jasper was. I noticed him staring at me with a dark expression.

"What happened?" He touched my cheek.

I moved my head away. I didn't remember that the mask was what was hiding my face from any wondering eyes who might take notice of the bruise just under my left eye.

Jasper ran a thumb over it. "Did he do this to you?" He searched my eyes. "Did he?"

I nod.

Jasper gave me a disapproving look. "After tonight, you are never going back to him."

I shook my head. "No, I will never. And after tonight, we will never hear from him again."
