The following day was rather hectic in all corners. Patricia nervously explained Thomas’s visit to Laura and thus busied herself making preparation with Mr. Hector concerning her official decision in filing for a divorce.
Neither of the Stevens couple told their daughter about the sudden change of events, instead they wanted to wait until the matter was properly settled before breaking the news of Jeremy’s parents’ legal separation and her opportunity to move ahead with the relationship at ease. This was a common understanding they all shared. Celebrate after success and not before.
However, things weren’t as simple as waiting it out. Phillip and Britney were almost certain that Thomas would be able to handle the issue on his side… his usual act of manipulation and threats. With this in mind, they confidently began making premature plans for the expected engagement banquet.
Thank you for reading, let me know if you're enjoying the story so far... Lots of love (inntri).
You know how it is when someone suddenly receives a painful news, for some reason their mind just shuts down… at a loss for words, unable to think clearly… repeating the silly famous question, why? Or how could this be? Well, Erika wasn’t one of those persons. She could already guess this had something to do with Britney and her involvement with Jeremy, leading to such a rushed announcement. However, the fact that he most likely knew of the tidal wave threating to collapse on their newly sprouting relationship and had not express a hint of worry over the possible outcome. Now that was what scared her. Thinking that maybe the reason he wanted to spend more time with her was because he viewed this as their last bitter sweet goodbye. “Crap! I told you, but you never listen to me… damn stupid teenage hormones! You should have stuck to the plan from the beginning, avoid Jeremy. But nooo… you just had to go
“Not my fault you didn’t explain yourself.” Erika mutter inaudibly. “Let me get this straight, so you’re not engaging Barbie doll Hudson tomorrow?” “Your parents are getting a divorce?” Marcus and Rose questioned respectively, muffling over the tenacious girl’s voice. “Mr. Stevens… Erika’s father and mother offered to help look into the issue of the prenup. Turns out there were solid grounds for scrapping the entire agreement or forcing my dad into signing over half the company shares to my mother.” Jeremy narrowed his eyes observing Erika awkwardly lowering her head, fidgeting with the hem of her clothes, a habit she had when feeling either nervous or guilty. “Does that mean you won’t have to drop out of college or live on the streets? Aunty won’t lose everything in the divorce?” “Hmm… yes, it also m
Jake was resentfully waiting for any sort of news or message from Britney, mentally preparing to retaliate once he got free. However, days went by without a single word from her, in fact no one came to visit him apart from Jessica, who was still hopelessly pleading with their father to find a defense lawyer or even assist in making a deal with the persecutor. Unfortunately, Jason Lancer stuck to his words and flew back to Miami directly after vising his son, clearly having no interest of getting involved in the matter. Anxious, the doting sister felt like she had run out of options, as a last resort she could only think of imploring her brother to beg the Stevens for forgiveness for his ‘simple act of flirting’, well at least that’s what she believed without actually seeing the video evidence, coupled by the gossips floating around. “Jake! This is serious, stop acting childish and apologize. Look at how ter
The big day was finally here, the Hudson’s were overly occupied catering for last minute preparations, still certain that Thomas would be able to deliver Jeremy directly into their hands. Phillip was more focused on the public announcement aspect, making sure he had invited the most reputable news agencies in the country to witness the union of the two biggest names in the business industry. Whereas, Britney accompanied by her little minions, were cheerfully hopping from one store to another trying to find the perfect dress for her ‘engagement’ banquet. “Go ahead girls, choose anything you like, it’s on me.” She happily lifted her father’s gold-plated card, motioning her friends towards the well-known up-scale mall. Despite having a closet filled with untouched rather insanely expensive evening wear, she still chose to make an unnecessary request to go shopping. “Are you sure it’s a good idea to come here? What
“Mr. Hudson sir, the crowd is quite stable at the moment, but a few reports are beginning to get suspicious. We will need to start soon.” Glaring at his assistant, Phillip quickly returned his attention to the already frantic teenager trying to offer words of reassurance. “Don’t worry Princess, one way or another, Jeremy Adams is going to be your fiancé by the end of tonight.” “B… but daddy, Chelsey said they weren’t coming. Maybe Jeremy’s not going to show up either…. Why doesn’t he love me? am I not good enough?” Britney began sobbing loudly while huddling up in her father’s embrace. “My baby girl is the best, the most beautiful creature there is, just like her mother. If Adams can’t see that then he’s a blind fool.” “No! I’m nothing compared to Erika Stevens. He chose her over me…. I’m ugly! I hate myself!” She continued to perform her world-class act in the fa
Everything was a complete mess. Anxious relatives and friends tried smoothing over the uproar as a few remaining reporters excitedly searched for answers, bombarding anyone closely connected to the Hudson’s. Of course, Selena and Keisha were no exception. However, the latter was understandably in no mood to be reasoned with much less offer an input on the situation. Since Jake had been arrested, she had wanted to visit him on multiple occasion, but thanks to Britney’s manipulation, she was easily convinced to keep her distance until the issue was settled so as no to be dragged into the mix by the so-called vengeful witch, Erika Stevens; who they had previously thought fabricated the entire story. Now that the true colors of Jake Lancer were finally made public, there was no denying the actual innocent victim. This no doubt was a huge hit to the naive girl’s emotional state. Selena desperately tried calming her
The weekend had finally come to an end, yet the drama was only beginning. The following day at West Bay Academy, it was if everyone had stepped into a parallel universe…. A topsy-turvy kind of environment. Instead of Mr. popular arriving on his own and being greeted by the once sassy jealous freak former cheer-captain Britney Hudson, he arrived to school in the now easily recognizable black Audi, alongside the trending sensational Erika Stevens. The halls bustling with gossips wasn’t anything strange, but the fact that many suddenly began whispering in admiration at the newly publicize couple, now they were surely singing a different type of tune. “Hear that? Music to my ear… my best pal finally dumped the plastic and got the real deal. Barbie lost her Ken; the crazy Witch broke her stick… all is right with the world again.” Marcus proudly declared, as he walked backwards, both arms outstretched, swaying gracefully as if d
The previous night, Britney was unfortunately the last one present at the venue to receive news of the video being released and the public’s shifting opinion, thus she was all dressed up and ready to go, patiently waiting in the lounge for the green-light to make her grand entrance. But when she finally saw the hot topic of her being named the ‘outsider’ in Jeremy and Erika’s relationship, let’s just say…. there wasn’t an item left in the room which could be broken, that wasn’t. She was obviously too ‘emotionally unstable’ to show up to school the following morning, even Phillip could not bare the sight of her award-winning sorrowful crocodile tears. Besides, he had bigger troubles to worry over. Thomas’ confession of forcing a socialite’s marriage between his son and Britney was enough to create hostility in the business world. Of course, clients initially didn’t really care for this personal aspect of the two men, but because customers were
