In any other circumstances, Phillip would have easily advice his daughter to give up on chasing after a guy that was possibly interested in someone else. However, when it came to the teenager in question, that’s wasn’t about to happen. He was absolutely certain that no matter what, Britney would still cling onto every last straw until she could claim Jeremy Adams.
Now that the situation had gotten to this point, the only solution that instantly popped into mind was publicly binding the two together through engagement… or in other words a promise for a future wedding.

Neither of the Stevens couple told their daughter about the sudden change of events, instead they wanted to wait until the matter was properly settled before breaking the news of Jeremy’s parents’ legal separation and her opportunity to move ahead with the relationship at ease. This was a common understanding they all shared. Celebrate after success and not before. However, things weren’t as simple as waiting it out.
