He was begging Veronica not to leave him, but she acted blind. He gasped when he woke up and panting violently. He felt his nightmare was absolute, and he was frightened that Veronica might escape from his pack.

“Alpha!”

His eyes landed on the door when he heard Uriel calling him. He strolled to the door, and opened it. Uriel seemed worried. He gulped as his heart thumped too fast.

“What's wrong? Beta, ensure this is too important, or else I will strangle you!” He didn't even intentionally warn Uriel; it was his response whenever Uriel knocked at the door in the middle of the night.

“Alpha, the north part of the land is burning.” Uriel started talking; he looked serious, “It looks like someone is trying to burn our land.”

“Investigate whoever it is.” Jaxon replied, giving Uriel a smug look, “Is there any news about Morgan? Veronica is worried about him.”

“We still can't find him. If he is lost, there is the possibility that he will die.”
