DIANA'S POV

I forced a laugh, keeping my expression neutral. So, she’s interested in him after all.

"That's nice of you," I replied smoothly, leaning back in my chair. "Nicholas is a good man. I’m sure he appreciates your kindness."

Emily simply nodded, focusing on her breakfast.

I sipped my juice slowly, my mind racing. I needed to figure out what she was up to. Was she genuinely attracted to Nicholas, or was she just playing around?

I had to be careful..

As I took another sip of my juice, my eyes wandered across the living room. That’s when I saw it,a file resting on the couch. My heart skipped a beat.

Nicholas must have forgotten it.

Oh no. If it was something important, he’d be back for it soon. I leaned forward, reaching for it, but before I could react, Emily suddenly stood up from the dining table.

“I’ll take it to him,” she said quickly, adjusting her dress. “I was actually planning to see my mom at the office today, so I can drop it off for him too.”

I froze for a second,

Nicholas’ POVShe arched her brow, pretending to pout. "Oh? So I don’t stand a chance?"My eyes darkened slightly as I leaned back in my chair. "I didn’t say that."A slow smile spread across her lips. “Interesting”.As I watched Emily sitting across from me, a thought crossed my mind, this lady is dangerously beautiful. Her smile was playful, her confidence unmatched. The way she carried herself, the way she spoke, it was almost irresistible.I leaned back in my chair, arms crossed, as she sipped her drink. She was talking about something, probably teasing me again, but I wasn’t paying full attention. My mind was elsewhere, studying her.Maybe I needed to stop pretending. Maybe I needed to stop resisting what was already happening.I smirked to myself. Having Emily as my girlfriend, even if just for now, might not be such a bad idea. She was Albert’s sister, yes, but that only made things more interesting. Emily wasn’t like the other women who threw themselves at me. She played the g

DIANA'S POV "You worry too much," he said, stepping closer until I could feel his breath against my skin. "Emily is just a distraction. A fun one."I scoffed. "Yeah? And what happens when she starts asking questions? What happens when Albert finds out you’re messing with his little sister?"Nicholas shrugged. "Then I’ll deal with it."I grabbed his arm, forcing him to look at me. "This isn't just about you, Nicholas!" My voice dropped to a whisper. "If we get caught, if they find out about us, do you think Albert will just let us go? Do you think he’ll just forgive us?"For a moment, something flickered in Nicholas' eyes, doubt. But it was gone as quickly as it appeared."Let me handle this, Diana," he said, his voice softer now. "Emily is harmless."I exhaled sharply, shaking my head. "No one is harmless, Nicholas. Especially not her."I stormed down the hallway, my hands clenched into fists."Nicholas is really out of his mind," I muttered under my breath, my heart pounding with fr

Emily POV “No big deal?” Diana repeated, standing up. “Do you even know what time it is?” Her eyes darted between us, filled with something I couldn’t quite place, anger? Jealousy? Worry?I sighed, rolling my eyes. “Diana, we’re adults. We don’t need a curfew.”Diana clenched her jaw. “Emily, you have no idea what you’re playing with.”I frowned. What was her problem? She had been acting so weird since I got back. And why was she so concerned about Nicholas and me?Nicholas placed a hand on my lower back. “Come on, Emily, let’s go.”Brielle’s POVThe business deal had gone smoothly, and Albert and I finally wrapped up everything. It had been a long, exhausting trip, but at least it was successful.I glanced at Albert as we walked out of the meeting room. He looked satisfied, but I could tell he was eager to get back home."Finally done," I sighed, stretching my arms. "I can't wait to get some rest."Albert nodded, adjusting his suit. "Yeah, it's time to head back. I just hope everyth

DIANA'S POV "You should be scared too," I shot back. "Because if Emily finds out the truth, she won’t just go after me, she’ll go after you too. And then what?"Nicholas chuckled darkly. "Then I guess we’ll just have to make sure she never finds out."I glared at Nicholas, my patience wearing thin."I don't want to wait any longer here," I said firmly. "I'm going in there to pack my things, and you better make sure you're coming with me."Nicholas sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Diana, don’t act out of impulse…""I'm not acting out of impulse!" I snapped, cutting him off. "This is the only way. If Albert comes back and finds me here, everything will get complicated. And if Emily keeps getting closer to you, she’ll start asking questions. Do you want that?"Nicholas remained silent, his expression unreadable.I took a deep breath, trying to control my frustration. "You were the one who told me to trust you, Nicholas. But look at what’s happening! You’re getting distracted. Y

Nicholas' POVJust as the moment between Emily and me grew more intense, a sudden knock on the door shattered the heated atmosphere. Emily and I froze. Her breathing was heavy, her face flushed, her body still pressed close to mine.I sighed, pulling away reluctantly. "Stay here," I whispered before heading toward the door. When I opened it, Diana stood there, arms crossed, an annoyed expression on her face."Nicholas, don't tell me you're in here having fun while you left the most important thing unhandled," she snapped, her eyes flicking toward the room, already knowing Emily was inside.I leaned against the doorframe, rubbing the back of my neck. "Diana, not now," I muttered. She scoffed. "Not now? You haven't packed your things yet. Oh, but I see why, you were busy with Emily," she said with a smirk, her voice dripping with sarcasm.Emily shifted uncomfortably behind me, pulling the sheets over herself. Diana turned her gaze to her, narrowing her eyes."And you, Emily," she said s

Diana’s POVI leaned back in the car seat, staring out the window as the city lights blurred past. A satisfied smirk played on my lips."Good thing we left that house," I muttered, turning to Nicholas, who was focused on the road. "I couldn’t stand being there any longer, especially with Albert acting like I don’t exist."Nicholas scoffed. "You knew this would happen, Diana. You were pushing too hard. Now that you’re gone, what’s your plan?"I crossed my arms. "Simple. If Albert doesn’t divorce that low-life bitch Brielle, he’ll never see his baby after I give birth."Nicholas glanced at me, his grip tightening on the steering wheel. "You’re really going to keep his child from him?"I let out a short laugh. "Why not? He wants to play happy family with Brielle while acting like I don’t matter? Fine. But he won’t get to have both. He either chooses me and our child, or he loses us both forever."Nicholas shook his head. "You’re playing a dangerous game, Diana."I smirked. "I always do."

Albert’s POVI was still trying to keep my temper in check when the door to my office opened again. This time, it was Brielle. She stepped inside cautiously, her eyes flickering between my mother and me. There was tension in the air, heavy and suffocating. She must have felt it too because she hesitated before speaking.“Albert,” she said softly, “I was looking for you.”My mother let out an annoyed sigh, straightening her expensive coat. She picked up her purse from the chair beside her and turned to me.“Meet me later today after work,” she ordered, her voice clipped. “This conversation isn’t over.”She shot Brielle a cold glance before striding out of the office, her heels clicking sharply against the floor.Brielle exhaled as the door shut behind my mother. “I guess that was about Diana,” she said quietly.I raked a hand through my hair, feeling exhaustion creep in. “What else would it be about?”She nodded, walking closer. “Did she send you another message?”I leaned against my d

Emily’s POVI arrived at Nicholas’s office, expecting to see him at his desk, but the space was empty. My heart sank. Where could he be? He wasn’t answering my calls, and now he wasn’t even in his office.I sighed, frustrated, and turned on my heels. Maybe I was overthinking. Maybe he was just busy. Still, my gut told me something was wrong.Instead of leaving right away, I decided to stop by Albert’s office. As soon as I walked in, he glanced up from his desk and raised an eyebrow.“Emily, what brings you here?”For a split second, I panicked. I couldn’t tell him I came to see Nicholas, not when our relationship was still a secret. I forced a small smile.“I was actually just here to look around,” I lied.Albert leaned back in his chair, studying me. “Really? Since when do you take an interest in my office?”I shrugged, hoping he wouldn’t ask more questions. “I was nearby and thought I’d stop by.”He didn’t seem convinced, but he let it go. “Well, since you’re here, have a seat. Brielle’s POVAfter dinner, I could feel the tension in the air like thick smoke. My heart was still racing from the way Albert looked at Sophia. I hadn’t planned for things to happen like that. I wanted to explain it all in my own time, not like this.Albert was still sitting with my parents in the living room. Mama was trying to change the topic, talking about her garden and the neighbors, but I could see the storm in Albert’s eyes. He hadn’t said a word since Sophia called me Mommy.I quickly excused myself and walked toward the room Sophia had been staying in. My hands were shaking. I knew I had to explain everything soon, but first, I needed to calm Sophia. Maybe she was just excited and tired.I opened the door and stepped inside.“Sophia?” I called gently. She was lying on the small bed, curled up in her pink pajamas. Her teddy bear was by her side. But something felt wrong. I walked closer and placed my hand on her cheek. My heart dropped. She was burning up.“Oh my God,” I wh

Brielle’s POVThe drive to my family home was quiet, but not in a bad way. Just peaceful. Albert kept one hand on the wheel and the other gently tapping to the soft music playing in the background. I looked out the window, feeling a mix of emotions.I was going home. But this time, I wasn’t going alone. As soon as we arrived, I opened the car door and stepped out, stretching a little. The air here smelled different. It smelled like childhood… like memories.Just as I bent to grab my bag from the back seat, I noticed Albert heading straight for the trunk. I raised my brows, confused, until I saw him pulling out his own luggage.“What are you doing?” I asked, watching him throw a strap over his shoulder. He glanced at me with a smirk. “Bringing my things inside.”“When did you even pack?”He shrugged like it was nothing. “You were busy getting ready, so I quietly packed mine too. I didn’t want to tell you. I thought it’d be a nice surprise.”I laughed softly. “You’re unbelievable. So yo

Brielle’s POVI stared at the message on my phone for a long time. My chest felt tight, like something heavy was pressing on it. I couldn’t breathe right. She’s tired of pretending. She’s asking about you again. My hands were shaking as I picked up the phone and dialed my sister’s number. She answered almost immediately.“Brielle?” she said softly.“Yeah, it’s me,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.“You saw my message?”“I did,” I said. “I… I’ll come around this week. I need to. I need to see her. I’ll spend more time with her.”There was silence on the other end, and then I heard my sister sigh.“She misses you, Brie. She keeps drawing pictures of you. She keeps asking when her ‘real mommy’ is coming. It’s getting hard to keep lying.”I wiped a tear from my cheek. “I know. I’m sorry. I’ve just been so caught up in everything. With Albert. With this new baby. With everything going wrong…”“Does he know?” she cut in.I swallowed hard. “No. Not yet.”“Brielle…”“I’ll tell him

Emily’s POVI looked at Nicholas’s message again and again under the table.“We need to talk. Urgent. Don’t let anyone see this.”My hands started to sweat. My heart was racing faster than it should. I couldn’t sit here any longer.“John,” I said softly, interrupting him in the middle of a sentence. “I’m really sorry, but something urgent just came up. I have to go.”His smile dropped. “Now? But we just…”“I know, I know,” I said, standing quickly. “It’s really important. I’ll explain later, I promise.”I grabbed my purse and walked out before he could ask more questions. I didn’t even wait for the waiter to bring the bill. I texted John a quick sorry as I rushed to get a cab.The whole ride to Nicholas’s new place, I couldn’t sit still. What was so urgent? Was something wrong? Or… was it about us?By the time I reached, my heart was thumping like crazy.Nicholas opened the door before I could even knock. His eyes softened the moment he saw me.“You came,” he said.“Of course I came.

Rebecca’s POVI sat quietly in my room, sipping my tea and pretending to be calm. But my mind was burning with questions. I picked up my phone and dialed Albert’s number. I needed to pretend. I needed to act like a loving mother, concerned about my son’s wife. “Hello, Albert,” I said sweetly when he picked up.“Hi, Mom,” he replied. His voice sounded tired and low.“I just wanted to check on Brielle,” I said, making my voice soft and worried. “She didn’t look too well when I left your house. I’ve been thinking about her all evening.”Albert sighed on the other end. “Actually… we had to rush her to the hospital shortly after you left.”I sat up straight, my eyes narrowing. “What? What happened?”“She collapsed,” Albert explained. “But don’t worry. She’s getting better now. The doctors are taking good care of her.”I held my breath, then said carefully, “And the baby? Is the baby okay?”He paused for a second, then answered, “Yes. Both Brielle and the baby are fine. The doctors were a

Brielle’s POVI sat on the couch, holding my breath as the door closed softly behind Albert’s mother. The scent of the soup she made still lingered in the room, but I couldn’t touch it. My stomach twisted, not from hunger, but from confusion. She smiled at me. She hugged me. She even called me daughter. Was this real? Or just another trick?I kept staring at the soup, still unsure of everything, when Albert walked down the stairs. He looked calm, relieved even.“She really changed, Brielle,” Albert said, sitting beside me. “Did you see her? I’ve never seen her like that before. I think… Having a grandchild has always been her biggest wish. That’s why she was always so cold. Now that she believes you’re pregnant, she has finally let go.”I turned my head slowly, looking into his eyes. “Albert… What do we do now? You and I both know I’m not pregnant. How long can we pretend? What if she finds out the truth?”Albert became quiet. His eyes didn’t move from mine. Then he gently held my han

Rebecca’s POVI sat alone in my bedroom, sipping my tea slowly while staring out the window. The moonlight poured in through the curtains, but I felt nothing but rage deep inside me. That girl… that low-class nobody… Brielle. How dare she walk into my son’s life and ruin everything I had planned for years?I set my cup down gently and sighed. “I will have to arrange Emily’s marriage as soon as possible,” I whispered to myself. “It’s time to clean this house, clean this bloodline.”I stood and walked slowly to my dresser, opening a drawer filled with old letters and photos, memories of a time when I was the one in control. When nobody dared question me.“But first,” I said coldly, “I need to play nice. I need to pretend to be sweet and understanding to that bitch, Brielle.”I smirked. “Yes… I’ll smile to her face, talk gently, maybe even rub her belly and ask about the baby, but behind her back, I’ll be planning. The moment he saw me, he smiled casually and said, “Hi Diana, you’re back already?”I didn’t say a word. I didn’t even look at him. My heart was burning with rage. I couldn’t believe what just happened at Albert’s mother’s place. I walked straight to my room and locked the door behind me.I threw my bag onto the bed and let out a loud scream. Everything inside me boiled with anger. My hands started shaking, and before I knew it, I was scattering everything on my dressing table, perfume bottles, frames, my mirror, makeup kits, everything flew to the floor and shattered.Glass broke, things crashed loudly, and I didn’t stop. How dare he.How dare Brielle.Nicholas started knocking on my door hard. “Diana!
