There came the evil wizard in disguise of an irresistibly handsome Prince under the ruse of alliance, chasing his intentions with thundering speed as others were unaware of it.
I never thought I would return to this destable land. Hmph, still the same. He thought with a bitter smile, contemplating the surroundings until his eyes met hers.
“There she is.” Causing his heart to skip a beat, halting his very existence when he saw her from afar, still bewitching enough to capture any heart in her captivating hazel eyes.
"Ruth" He called one his fifteen commanders, narrowing his eyes and the spark emerging from him converted into a fiery fire of hatred.
"Yes, My Liege?" Ruth asked, setting her eyes on a tower.
"Spread out. You know what to do. We cannot stay here long." He ordered with a vile smirk.
"Yes." Bowing, They vanished in the air before anyone could notice.
"Have we met him before?" Persephone whispered to Kriss, perplexed by Zadicus's gaze upon her.
"Nope. Yeah, His Father visited us once but things didn't go well and after a decade, he is here." Kriss shrugged telling her.
"Then why is he looking at me in... nostalgia?" She asked, growing uncomfortable by his stare.
"Who knows? Love at first sight maybe." He teased her, deepened her frown, "Curse your tongue."
"It's not wise, do not deliberately become ignorant to what you are aware of." He smirked before coming forth.
"Pleasure to be your host." Kriss said in a gallant way, offering his hand.
"Likewise, Prince." Zadicus smiled faintly but burned from inside to act decently around the person he once called his best friend.
"I hope our conviviality won't disappoint you and help us reach a favorable result." Kriss polite tone came out.
"I am assured it will." He replied in the same tone.
Ceasing the greeting, he turned to his people.
"She is Vera Stark, the Imperial Head and Persephone Sage, the Army Commander." He greeted them.
"Well, who doesn't know The Phoenix?" He smirked, kissing the back of her palm but the moment his lips made contact with her skin it emerged a spark, embedding the sensation that it’s none other than him.
Horrifying her, “You…” She tried to speak but Kriss cut her off,
"Please come, Prince." Leading them inside, “Kriss-” Persephone tried calling but he motioned her to stop.
“Not now, Persephone. You go back to your post.” He ordered and left with Zadicus.
They all entered, he was waiting for a perfect opportunity to cast his first attack, using patience as his weapon.
He was escorted to his room, where he freshened up after his prolonged journey.
"What's your name?" He asked the maid assigned to accompany him around the castle.
"Jennie, His Highness." She replied, not lifting her head.
"Lead me to the courtyard." He commanded, holding his hand at his back, knowing where he would find Persephone and he did. Watching her staring at the flowers, crushing them.
"Nuisance." He muttered, glancing at the maid and knocked her out instantly, causing her to fall on the ground as he approached Persephone alone.
"Immersed in thoughts?" He asked, leaning on the frame, smirking at her.
"Why pay heed to an eternal function? It exists within us all. Everybody thinks." She breathed out.
"But it is the controller." He added, coming closer, standing right behind her, putting his hand on her shoulder, leading to her ear, hitching her breath.
"Did you miss me?" He asked seductively.
"You gave me no reason to." She whispered, forming an unbreakable facade, returning him a glare.
"Why did you let me know that it’s you? Why reveal it to me only?" She asked, trying to resist his touch and remind herself that she is the commander not his lover.
"For you to recognize me." He murmured, brushing his lips over her neck but she stood unaffected.
"Do you want to die by my hands?" He laughed at her remark, "Bold of you to assume you can graze my skin.”
“Why did you come back?” She asked, not meeting his gaze, “To take what belongs to me.” He hummed.
“What is it?” She asked strictly.
“I will show you eventually, until then allow me to indulge in your hopelessness.”
“You ripped these emotions out of my very soul.” She murmured, curling her hands in a fist, “Then why does it tremble? By my name? By my presence?”
Enticement mixed with mockery at its peak, wavered her patience.
“Why does my presence, my name bring the feelings it did decades ago?” He asked, pushing her on the edge of her emotions but she must control them.
"What do you want?" She asked, grabbing his wrist, twisting it as it pulled their bodies together.
"Why are you here? You don’t belong here anymore, you have nothing left, Aziel doesn't need traitors like you, Zadicus, get the fuck out of my home." She growled, digging her nails on his skin.
"I am not here to amend bonds either." He growled back, bringing his face closer to hers.
"Why are you here? To destroy us? For revenge?" She demanded, ready to engage in a fight.
“Because I won’t let you, you can no longer take our home away from us. I will fight you, if I must.” She hissed.
“So now you are ready to kill me too?” He asked, ridiculing her, she knew her hands trembled in his matter but it won’t stop her.
“If I must.” She said sternly, ready to summon her sword and attack him.
“Expected from a disbeliever like you.” He scoffed, hitting where it hurts the most.
“Why are you here?” She growled, losing her grip on herself, pressing her teeth together.
A dark smirk came to his lips when he leaned down to her ears, "Why, you ask?"
Speaking temptingly before leaving which stiffed her.
"I yearn to enslave you in my arena, Persephone."
“What?” She asked, thinking she heard him wrong.
“Are you aware of your words?” She asked, chuckling dryly, yanking away from him, disregarding his words.
“Laugh all you want but soon. Very soon.” He smirked, resting his hands in his pockets, standing assertively, enunciating.
“No one is going to believe you.” His statement wiped her mocking smile and he held her chin, meeting her gaze intensely, whispering.
“And you will suffer to prove your innocence like I did.”
“Try to understand Kriss. Zadicus is here and he is planning something big!” Persephone argued, going after Kriss, trying to convince him. “And how he managed to come?” Kriss asked, stopping in his tracks, turning to her. “You are the one who will be held responsible in the first place. It was your duty to secure our land.” He told her the bitter fact but it didn’t falter her determination.“And I have fulfilled my duties but Zadicus is here, you have to believe me.” She insisted, pulling his arm. “Oh really? For once I can believe, of all people, he came to see you first but how?” He asked, yanking his hand back, folding his arms at his chest.“The Prince! He is not Prince Jazeel, He is Zadicus!” She growled, raising her voice, which caused Kriss to cover her mouth.“For God’s sake, Persephone, Lower your voice!" He whispered-yelled, vexed about her feral behavior. "It hadn’t been a single day and you are claiming him to be Zadicus, don't be absurd. On which proof are you making
“Assholes, mocking my capabilities.” Persephone growled, slamming her hand, the rage flickering on her face showed the fun made out of her state.“I won’t let them invade our land, I will protect Aziel at all cost.” She hissed, running her hand in her hairs, making them messy.Randall was disquiet about her reaction, unable to comprehend what is special about tonight and what threat could possibly occur in this surety.“What could have grazed us, My Lady? Why are you so hasty tonight?” He asked.Doubting her at this point but when a collected person is vexed then it must be something so he places his faith upon her judgment and following orders.Halting her tracks, Persephone glanced at him and then back at the full moon, whispering with stress, “Tonight… we might fall.” His eyes widened in disbelief, blinking, considering it to be a jest but it was not. “Fall? I.. don’t understand. What do you mean?” He asked for his confirmation.“I meant what I said and as the Army General, I mus
Persephone blinked, trying to register his words and her wrongdoing. The action of fulfilling what is required to save her land ended up in its devastation. “He knew… He knew I would do anything to save my land.” She breathed out the unintentional mistake she made. “And took advantage of it.” Hissing, she slammed her hand down, trying to perceive how to get out of this predicament. “What are you saying, My Lady?” Randall asked, distressed by her reactions and words. “We are in the most terrible position.” She breathed out the state she is stuck in, punching the wall, cursing under breath, losing her mind. “What should we do now?” Randall asked desperately and all her faze converted into pure rage, cursing him in her heart. “How did this happen? How could this break out in a single night?” She asked, regaining her senses with extreme difficulty, going with him. “The rebel party you caught. It was not only one of them, they were a whole organization and they have begun their attac
Her words brought a scowl on his face but containing his emotions he simply glared at her. “It’s your own fault. I never asked you to stay in my memories, Persephone.” He scoffed, disregarding her words. “Then why are you after me?” She asked hopelessly, mixed in her dilemmas, seeing him revived the emotions and scars she buried long ago. “A simple desire. I want you. That is all.” He chuckled, assaulting her sensitive nerves, evoking distress. “I can’t believe it…” She breathed out, taking a step back, shaking her head, refusing to believe the extent he is using to possess. “How low are you planning to fall, Zadicus?” She asked sorrowfully, holding the hem of her dress. Kriss noticed the glint of anguish in her eyes, inducing pity mixed with an unknown hint of jealousy he didn’t show in his heart. Only seeing the intense emotions shining in her eyes. “Why do you care? What can you do to stop me, huh?” Zadicus growled, losing his forbearance by her words, coming closer. “Can yo
Zadicus was sitting on top of the royal palace, scrutinizing the scenario aesthetically pleasing to his desires, smirking atrociously while staring at the ravage taking place. He died to see this sight, their condition similar to his heart’s.“My Liege,” A voice called, his Number 2, dragging him out from his rhythm of joy.He hummed, motioning her to continue and she informed about the death of number 10 which made her vexed to think how they could survive until the final act.“Kriss Emmett has killed Walter.” His smirk grew wider, anticipating it, “I see…” Looking up at the Moon, he spoke to himself, wallowing in the sight, waiting to see what it might take for Kriss to realize.“Let’s see how many commanders you can kill before you figure out my true plan, Kriss.” Meanwhile among the army, a wave of exhilaration evoked, cheering to know their Prince is on their side and nothing could harm them anymore.“His Highness has killed commander number 10!” They cheered, their faith st
“Long time no see.” He spoke, coming closer but she took a step back, refusing to believe it’s him, this was affecting her mind badly to see him after eight years-…and moreover an enemy.“What- How- How could this happen?” She asked, shaking her head, tightening her grip on her sword, knowing he is number 1 and she had to fight him.“This is impossible.” She whispered, blinking, trying to neglect the reality. “You can’t be alive.” She breathed out, narrowing her eyes thinking someone was playing with her mind.“Then what do you consider what you are seeing?” He chuckled darkly.Opening his hands, snapping his fingers to induce the realization it is not a dream nor illusion. He was truly here and she had to fight him.“It’s you…” She whispered when the painful realization hit her that she had lost him as well.“You chose his side too.” She said, disheartened at his choice of leaving them.“Why does it hurt? Have you forgotten such emotions are not supposed to exist for an enemy?” An
“There it is.” Zadicus breathed out after reaching the cave where it all started and he was there again after eight years. Coming closer, his eyes narrowed in dejection, recalling the unwanted moments which departed his very soul from the world. But, Soon his sorrow was replaced by seethe, coming closer to his target for what he ravaged the whole country. “Eight years. Took my eight year to know your activities.” He whispered, approaching the crystal embedded into a piece of rock with chains around it serving as a seal. It was used to conceal its identity as evil relics should stay where they belong. “And nothing could stop me now.” He whispered again, knowing Aziel’s breaths are dependent on this relic and possessing it will make him superior. “Eight… fucking… years.” A devilish smirk came to his lips, narrowing his eyes at the crystal remembering about the moment where he lost his call. “How can I believe an infidel?” The voice he buried long ago in his head dug again, stirri
“Zadicus.” Persephone called him, the hint of being disheartened in his choices was clear in her voice. Holding the hem of her dress, she walked closer but Zadicus only closed his eyes again, breathing out loudly her name. “Persephone.” Forcing himself to turn he saw the disappointment in her eyes but it can no longer be fixed. The path he has chosen has no return. “So you came to know…” He began to say in a low tone, turning to her, trying to ignore the sorrow in her eyes, hoping to know what he intended to attain by raze. “What do you hope to gain by doing this?” She asked, narrowing her eyes in anguish. Taking a step closer. Her aura emitted woe, refusing to believe that it’s her Zadicus who was once innocent and pure. “What satisfaction devastation will provide you?” Her voice went lower, trembling slightly but Zadicus remained stoic, only registering her words. “It isn’t about satisfaction.” He replied after a prolonged silence, gaining her attention, taking a step as w
~Leaving this corrupted tale behind like a chapter in the past…~ Knocking, he took a deep breath, the sensations he once used to feel for her no longer existed, replaced with a delight to find his most cherished people binding in a sacred bond. “Persephone.” Kriss called, opening the door slowly to find Persephone an exquisite princess gown with a veil over her head. She had tears of felicity in her eyes which she wiped quickly and grinned at him, “Kriss?” Kriss returned a kind smile, taking a step towards her, standing before as his eyes contemplated her form, she looked like a princess who was about to end her fairytale. “You look angelic.” Kriss whispered sincerely, stopping at her eyes, felicitous for both Persephone and Zadicus. “Thank you.” She mumbled sheepishly, not used to fancy dresses and gowns but for her special day, she wore the most beautiful floor length lace gown, embroidered heavily. “Zadicus is dying to see you. He is so lucky to have the one he loves. No
While they went to take care of the guest, everyone else was lost in their own world and matters. Waiting for the final moment delightfully. Amid them, Tabit noticed Vera coming with her two years old adopted daughter. Vera wanted to give her life a meaning and adopted a girl from the orphanage. “Hey. How’s Ava doing?” Tabit asked, waving sweetly at Ava. Tabit had changed entirely, the deadness in her tone had faded, the seriousness in her eyes no longer existed, she had become a jovial person. “Good.” Vera smiled, patting her daughter’s head, considering her new meaning of life, offering her everything to this kid now. “Ava, Say hi.” Vera whispered, “Hello.” She greeted sweetly, bowing out of respect. “Hey, sweetie.” Tabit greeted, patting her head and noticing her happiness, Vera asked about her wellbeing, “What about you, Tabit?” “I am doing great. Actually better than I could ever be.” Tabit grinned, straightening her back to turn to Vera and talk to her. “Glad to hear
6 Months Later. Things were finally coming to their nonchalance, everyone was learning the ways of this new world gradually, everyone was accepting their lives- reviving the dead economy of Fier. And after a devilishly long time, the time to make a promise Zadicus made to Persephone had come, the day where their souls would connect eternally had finally come. Their wedding. In a three piece white suit, having an expensive brooch on the label. Hairs combed perfectly behind followed by a clean and trimmed beard unlike before. Clearing his throat, Zadicus looked at himself, checking himself to see whether he looks fine or not and smiled, remembering his Father in this auspicious event. “Finally, this day has come, Father.” Zadicus breathed out, looking out from the window of the grand house he once called his home, smiling beautifully. Following his Father’s steps, he had devoted his life to knowledge and education, he would lead a new generation through his powers and knowledg
After Tristan left, they all exhaled in sadness, turning to each other. “Tristan left too now. First Juniper and Ahlum and now him.” Vera whispered, not liking there were reducing in numbers but at least no one was dead.“I am going home.” Kriss said sadly, not wanting to talk about it anymore, ever since Juniper left, Kriss was totally depressed, he didn’t want to talk with her anymore.“I will check-” Persephone was about to speak but Zadicus stopped her.“Don’t check up on him. He needed to be alone. You guys go. I need to take Persephone somewhere too.” Zadicus said, taking Persephone’s hand.“Where?” She asked but he began to drag her away with him as quickly as he could, leaving everyone bewildered at his rush to take Persephone somewhere they didn’t know about.“Just come. We are already late.” Zadicus said, panting heavily while they were running down the forest, hands tightly locked together so no power of this world could part it. “Zadicus?” Persephone asked, worried at hi
Time passed in a blink of an eye, it had been a month, most of the damage was recovering gradually. Obviously the loss of lives couldn’t be recovered but people were trying to save whatever is left.Everyone was back to their position, to their duties. Many people died so everyone joined in to help. Continuing the family’s work, Zadicus left all violence behind and chose knowledge. He became the education minister, continuing what belonged to his family. Tademono's lineage had always been scholars and he would continue it with Daphne as his assistant. Sir Lark lost his life so Ruth pinched in to handle the country’s security. Of course they would have to work hard to gain acceptance but they did.“I am placing all my faith in you guys. Do not disappoint me. I have already lost too many people and you guys are the saviors.” His Majesty sighed but he truly had no choice but to have their help due to the crisis.“Rest assured, My Lord, we will devote ourselves. You can trust my people
Smiling, Kriss didn't wait for a second and pulled her into a passionate kiss, moving his fingers to her hairs, locking them perfectly to gain access to her lips so he could kiss them with all his endearment.Juniper was taken aback for a second but melted into his pure affection, closing her eyes, pulling his shirt as she kissed him back, moving her lips in unbreakable sync with his. They both smiled, kissing each other passionately. Juniper was slightly sloppy while Kriss’ talented lips gave her a whole new sensation of euphoria. Chuckling huskily, Kriss pulled away, holding Juniper possessively, “Be mine.” He pleaded, losing his breaths, having one desire left in his heart. But it wiped her felicity, replacing it with the apprehension of what she ended up doing in spur of emotions. “I can’t.” She whispered, horrified, realizing she ended up being manipulated by feelings.“Why not? You love me, I love you, I am willing to do everything.” Kriss asked, laughing nervously to wonder
Since Juniper was injured badly, she took a prolonged period to recover from that injury. She was sleeping peacefully until she felt long nails running down softly.Opening her eyes slowly by the foreign feeling, she saw Ahlum was no longer there with her but Delora was.She gasped instantly out of fear, unable to move while she was stroking her hairs.“How are you, Juniper?” Delora’s seductive tone came, caressing her sister slowly. “Fine.” She gulped, alarmed in her presence but her body was not ready to move and judging Ahlum’s disappearance, Delora must have taken her back to Yizar.“You guys did great. I knew he could do this. Zadicus had this potential in him.” Delora whispered sincerely, pulling her hand away, tracing her finger down to Juniper’s scar on her back, ruining her beautiful sister’s skin- according to her.“Are you here… to kill me?” Juniper asked hesitantly, swallowing hard in dread to wonder what she wanted from her.“You had enough adventure. I cannot risk your
“Finally the old man is retiring.” Vera chuckled, shaking her head to see Azen finally giving up on his position as the leader of Red Rain.“Yeah…” Tabit and Vera smiled at the adorable scene before them, looking at the elderly couple made them have faith in love. Their love had been the same for years. Rose is Azen’s lifeline. “Boss, we found someone from the assassin’s camp.” Since Tabit had become the leader of Red Rain, her responsibilities were enhanced. Sighing, she grinned, waving at all of them and left to see. Being from the camp too, she knew what could save a lost soul. Before Tabit, a thirteen year old kid was there who had no hopes of living just like her. She won’t ruin another life. I won’t do what Azen did. They are kids after all. Tabit thought compassionately. Taking a deep breath, she bent on her knees, holding her hand out to the kind who was unknown to kindness.“Hey, I am Tabit. Nice to meet you.” Tabit said happily, giving a sudden spark to the child befor
Sunlight penetrated through the curtains, falling on the face of a handsome man, covered in bandages, sleeping on the king-sized bed, waking him up from the deep but peaceful slumber of his.Opening his eyes slowly, his eyes fell upon a beautiful lady who opened the curtains to allow his skin to absorb some sunshine. Turning her head, she returned a sweet smile, whispering with a most loving tone of hers, “Hey…” Blinking, he regained his senses, clearing his vision from the light and noticing his beloved sitting next to him on the bed.“Persephone?” He called, blinking a few times before gaining his ability to see properly.“How are you feeling, Zadicus?” Humming, Persephone ran her fingers down his soft raven locks while holding his hand with her other hand, caressing him like a cherished possession.“Isn’t it... Your room?” He asked vaguely, sitting up, groaning in pain from the fight, looking around to find himself in the room he never thought would come again, finding himself o
