Beginning

The next morning, Ella woke up especially early to prepare breakfast. Since she was free to go outside, she went to the market early to buy fresh ingredients.

Today, she cooked a special chicken soup to nourish him. She also thoughtfully prepared a lunch box with rice and some pastries for him to take to work.

When the clock struck 6:30 AM, Eugun also went downstairs at the same time. When she saw him sitting in the living room looking at the computer, she went out to call him in for breakfast.

"Hurry up and come in for breakfast."

"Did you cook breakfast yourself?"

Eugun walked into the kitchen, his eyes scanning the array of dishes on the table. The smell of the food reminded him of the flavors of family, a feeling he hadn’t experienced in a long time.

"There's no need to prepare a portion for me. I have to go to the company urgently today."

Although the dishes she had prepared looked delicious, he wasn’t interested in them. Deep down, Ella’s eyes revealed a hint of disappointment, but she didn’t say anything, just giving a faint smile. After all, between them, it was just a contractual relationship in name.

Eugun turned and walked away, each step deliberate, without looking back. He didn’t even glance at the lunch box Ella had prepared, not even once.

Butler Beck standing nearby felt pity for Ella. Even though she knew Eugun might not like the food she prepared, she still woke up early to make it carefully.

"Miss Ella! The young master has asked me to take you to prepare your outfit for the party you’ll be attending with him tonight."

Butler Beck's call broke the silence, and Ella regained her composure. She glanced at the dishes on the table, giving a soft smile before sitting down to enjoy the chicken soup she had woken up early to prepare.

"Can I know what kind of party it is?" 

"It's the wedding of your ex-boyfriend and your best friend. The young master has instructed me to make sure you stand out tonight."

Ella was a bit taken aback. She hadn’t expected that she would have to attend the wedding of someone she once loved alongside her closest friend.

After breakfast, Ella began cleaning up. She felt a bit lighter, seeing that the pastries on the table were well-liked by the staff in the villa.

The morning passed by, and Ella sat reading news about the wedding of her ex-boyfriend and her best friend. She couldn't believe there were people in the world so shameless. The sadness in Ella's eyes was silent, a sorrow that words couldn’t capture.

"Young Madam!" 

"Young Madam!"

Ella was so focused on watching the news that even though Butler Beck called out to her several times, she didn't pay any attention. With no other choice, the butler had no choice but to gently shake her.

"How rude. Madam, this is the phone that the Young Master prepared for you."

"You call me Madam?"

"The Young Master told me to call you that from now on and this is the phone he prepared for you."

Ella held the phone in her hand. It was completely new and even more than that, it was a model that had just been released. For the past few days, she hadn't been able to contact her family, and now she really wanted to call them. Even though her father had cruelly sold her off she still felt a great deal of concern for him.

Ella held the phone in her hand, but she hesitated, unsure whether she should call her father. Yet, deep down, she still wanted to know what was happening at home. Butler Beck noticed the worry and uncertainty in her expression, so he took the initiative to speak up.

"Don't worry miss. Your father is doing well, and the family bakery has started operating again."

"Butler Beck, could you take me to Eugun's company this afternoon?" 

"I'm afraid Young Master might not approve of this." 

"Just tell him it's because I want to go."

Ella wanted to bring lunch to Eugun as a way of thanking him for keeping his promise to her. After all, on paper, they were soon to be husband and wife, so she wanted to treat him well during this period.

After taking Ella to the shopping mall to pick out an outfit for the party with Eugun that evening, butler Beck drove Ella to Eugun's company. Standing in front of one of the largest and top-ranking companies in the country, Ella felt a bit overwhelmed. The place was indeed much bigger than she had imagined.

“No need to get off the car with me, i can go in by myself.”

Ella got out of the car and walked inside on her own. As she approached the security gate, she noticed that people around her were staring at her with curious even strange looks. This made her feel uncomfortable, and she just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.

"May I ask who you're looking for?" 

"I... I want to see Eugun... Chairman Eugun." 

"This is someone from the chairman's. I'll take her up to see the chairman."

Standing in front of the receptionist's desk Ella hesitated unsure of how to address Eugun. She didn't know whether to call him by his first name or title. Luckily butler Beck appeared just in time to help her. After he spoke on her behalf, he guided her to the private elevator that would take them up to the chairman's office.

"The contract has just started, and you're already eager for everyone to know you're my wife?" 

"I just wanted to bring you lunch to thank you."

Ella placed the lunch box on the table, intending to leave right away, but suddenly Eugun grabbed her hand pulling her closer. The distance between them was so small that not even a breath of air could pass through. He leaned in and placed a soft, sweet kiss on her lips.

"It's very sweet."

"Of... If there's nothing else, I'll head back now."

"Wait, let's talk a little about the party tonight."

Eugun sat down, his tone serious and firm. Ella sat across from him, feeling quite nervous. Being near him always gave her the sense that everything around them felt cold, and time seemed to drag on endlessly.

"Actually, I've never been to a party before. Is it okay if I stay home?" 

"Tonight, we're going to the wedding of your ex-boyfriend. Do you want to go?" 

"I..." 

"If you want to take revenge, tonight is your chance." 

"I'll go."

When she heard that they would be attending her ex-boyfriend's wedding, Ella immediately agreed. With him by her side, she was sure he wouldn't just stand by and let her be mistreated by others.
