“Where am I?” Miya tried to open her eyes but it was difficult. Her head was dizzy and her body felt weak. “What happened to me?” The first thing she felt was warmth around her. Her vision blurred for a moment, but the sound of soft snoring and the puff of breath that touched the hollow of her neck made her squirm. Then her gaze dropped to her stomach, which felt tight. A burly arm wrapped around her stomach which made Miya realize that someone was holding her tightly. Miya recognized the owner of this arm.
The longer Miya's consciousness returned. The scent of Damian's perfume, which Miya recognized, smelled even more seductive. Don't ask how Miya's heart beats. It feels ... thrilling. Miya moved slowly just so that the owner of the hand would not wake up immediately. Who knows Miya's movements disturbed her sleep.
When Miya turned around, Damian was right in front of her. Hugging her tightly. His eyes were closed indicating that the man was fast asleep. His eye bags were clearly visible so the man was fast asleep. Miya was even more mesmerized by Damian's sleeping face like this. That face looked more human and more handsome.
“When are you coming back?” she asked very quietly. Her fingertips touched Damian's nose very gently. Afraid to disturb the man who was still closed. “But I'm glad you're coming back soon. At least... I didn't have time to think about the bad things that could have happened to you.” Miya squirmed a little and moved closer in Damian's arms.
Miya thought, this man is really cold and doesn't care about her. From the moment we met and Damian's treatment during the time Miya was in this house, it was unpredictable. Sometimes it was very harsh and made Miya sad, but now somehow Miya felt Damian was showing a side that she couldn't look away from.
“Miya? Are you awake?” Damian's voice sounded hoarse yet soft.
The blonde-haired girl hugged Damian even tighter.
“Why?” Damian gently stroked Miya's long hair. “What are you feeling?”
“Nothing,” Miya said softly. “When did you come home?”
“Four hours ago.”
Miya rubbed the tip of her nose against Damian's chest, which was still wrapped in a black shirt. Two open buttons reveal Damian's tantalizing body. Damian doesn't push her away anyway, which means she can do things like this.
“Satisfied?” Damian chuckled at all Miya's antics, which he found too adorable. He slightly released her hug. Miya's face looked unhappy but Damian immediately gave her a light peck on the forehead. “I heard you fainted. What happened?”
Miya tried to remember. Her memory was hazy, but the image of the pungent fishy smell of sushi came to mind. “I remember... there was sushi. The fishy smell was too strong. Tessa panicked when she saw me... Then I don't remember anything else.”
And because of that, Miya immediately woke up from her sleep. “Tessa! Where is she now?”
Damian growled in annoyance. “Can't you be careful?”
“But I have to know, where is my best friend?” Miya looked panicked and hurried to get off the bed. The only person who could answer what had happened was Desi. Or Victor. Where are they?
“Wait, Miya.” Damian immediately pulled Miya's hand and with ease, Damian lifted Miya's body. Laying Miya's body back down slowly. Positioning himself on top of Miya without hurting her. But it made Miya look surprised and her face just blushed. “You better watch your every move now. Don't move carelessly.”
Miya looks confused but considering Damian doesn't like to be argued with and every time he's asked what the reason is, Damian won't answer straightforwardly, it's better for Miya to just go along with Damian's words. “Sorry,” he said, nodding.
“You don't have to worry about Tessa. She's been taken home by one of Victor's men.”
Miya sighs softly. “Thank you.”
“But are you really okay now?”
She looked at Damian in surprise once again. “Yes, I'm fine although I still feel dizzy. What's wrong?”
Damian nodded, his facial expression a mixture of relief and worry. “There's nothing for you to worry about.” Damian's gaze began to descend from her face to Miya's stomach, which was wrapped in a maroon satin shirt. And when that gaze landed on Miya's stomach, without Damian realizing it, his hand stroked there gently.
“What are you doing?” Miya was completely astonished and confused by Damian's behavior today.
“Checking on your condition,” Damian replies with a smile that makes Miya blink in disbelief. Damian... smiled in a very different way. A smile that radiated happiness that was... so great. What was going on exactly?
Miya felt her heart beat faster at the sound of Damian's tone that showed this other side. “I'm fine now. There's no need to worry too much,” he said softly.
“I've asked the head chef to prepare dinner. Don't refuse it because your stomach hasn't been filled with anything, right?”
Miya paused.
“I haven't eaten dinner either.”
The girl smiled widely. “Then, dinner together?”
Damian kissed the tip of Miya's nose. “Do you want to eat in this room or in the dining room?”
“Can I choose?”
Damian nodded without hesitation.
“I want to have dinner here. With you.”
Without answering, Damian reached for the intercom on the bedside table. “Head chef, prepare a light dinner for Miya. Avoid anything fishy or pungently flavored. Take it to her room. No need to serve me wine.”
A few minutes later, the maid arrived with a tray of carefully prepared food. Damian helped Miya sit more comfortably on the bed, even making sure the blanket remained over her body. He took the pieces of fruit from the plate, then fed them directly to Miya.
“I can eat by myself,” Miya protested with a flushed face.
Damian smiled a small smile, barely noticeable, but warm. “I know. But I want to make sure you eat properly.”
Miya gave Damian a confused look. This sudden attention felt strange, but on the other hand, there was a warmth that made her not want to resist. “But I've been eating well. You can ask Desi about that.”
“I know.” Damian took a bite of the fruit on his plate. “From now on I'll be the one making sure you eat, Baby Girl.”
“Aren't you busy? To take care of me like that?” Miya was completely lost in thought. “Oh, Damian. You don't have to do this. I can take care of myself better.”
Damian let out a long sigh as he rubbed his face in frustration. “Don't make me repeat orders, Miya.”
The girl fell silent.
“Besides, you won't be sleeping alone tonight.”
Miya frowned. “What do you mean?”
“I wanted to make sure you were okay. My room is more comfortable, and I can take care of you while I get some work done,” Damian replied without giving room for rebuttal.
Miya knew she had no other choice. Moreover, the next mouthful after mouthful, though given by Damian's hand but also under the man's terrifying gaze. Which made Miya unable to resist. Until she felt it, her stomach had been filled with too much food. “I'm full,” she said quietly.
Damian smiled with satisfaction. “Well it's better if you almost finish this portion of dinner.” He brushed the corner of Miya's lips gently. “I'll have the maid pack up your things and take them to my room.”
“But... aren't you bothered?” Miya asked doubtfully.
“Why should it bother you?” Damian asked someone to tidy up the dinner that had just finished. “Get some servants to move Miya's things to the main room. Make sure all her needs are met. And arrange my room to make it more comfortable for Miya to stay in.”
“Yes, sir,” they said in unison. No one could argue with Damian's orders, no matter the reason. Including Miya who followed Damian to her room at the end of the corridor.
Damian opened the door of the room wide. Miya stared in amazement at the room that was now in front of her. Damian's room was grand with a large bed in the center and a desk in the corner. Damian guided Miya to sit on the soft sofa. Several shelves were neatly arranged with many books and displays that made the room look elegant.
What caught Miya's attention was the large window that showed the outside view of the mansion. It was beautiful. Even the forest where she was camping was clearly visible from this room. Not to mention the lake, which, although small, showed its beauty from Damian's room.
“Rest here,” he said as he wrapped his arms around Miya. “What are you looking at?” Damian followed the direction of Miya's gaze. He smiled meaningfully and because of that, he dropped his head to rest on Miya's shoulder. “Do you like it?”
“Eung.” Miya couldn't hide her admiration for the view she found tonight.
“I have some work to finish soon. Do you still want to stay here?”
“You don't mind, do you?”
“No, I don't. But make sure if you get sleepy, go to bed immediately. Don't delay or wait for me.” Damian cupped Miya's face and looked at her intently. “Don't lose sleep. It's not good for your current condition.”
“Yes.” Miya laughed. “You worry about me too much. I'm really fine.”
“How can I not worry about your condition, hem” Damian again rubbed Miya's flat stomach. This made Miya look at Damian with wonder. Why would Damian do something like this again?
“You know, in this belly there are my descendants, darling.”
Miya was silent trying to digest Damian's words. “What... do you mean, Damian?”
“You're pregnant my child, darling.”
“Do you still want to be like this?” Damian smiled lightly. Positioning himself half-kneeling in front of Miya. The girl still wore a face of disbelief at what was happening to her. Her hand stayed on her stomach and gave a gentle rub.“I... can't believe this is happening?” Miya said with a feeling of confusion. Really, it wasn't that she didn't want to know that she was pregnant with Damian Sawyer's child, but... really? Given what they had done so far, there was a good chance of pregnancy, right?“You sound like you doubt I could get you pregnant,” Damian chuckled. His hand gently grasped Miya's. “Thank you, Baby Girl. I was really waiting for this news to come into my life.”“When did you find out?” asked Miya, not wanting their hands, which were clasped tightly together, to be interrupted. “I didn't even realize it.”“When you fainted, I asked Sofie to come check on you. She actually suggested that you go to the hospital but Victor requested that everything be done at home.” Dami
Kayoko pulled his suitcase with a feeling of exasperation. How could her brother break a promise that had already been made? Even more annoying than just breaking a promise was asking Victor Wyatt to pick her up! What crazy thing would Damian make Victor do?It wasn't that Kayoko hated him, but Victor was the last person she wanted to see. Victor could always get Kayoko annoyed and irritated and end up grumpy all day long because of his antics. He is annoying and very talented at making other people suddenly lose their minds because of his behavior. When she returned from Germany, Kayoko wanted to do something fun with Damian. It's been a long time since she spent time with her dear brother but what did she get? Ugh!“Miss Sawyer!”Kayoko who was grumbling and walking while stomping, turned her head towards the voice that called her. Damn it, Victor was there. Waving with a red handkerchief and writing in very clear capital letters. 'You're home too, Kayoko!Damn this Victor Wyatt guy
The lunch was awkward at first. The long table on the terrace of Damian's house was adorned with delicious dishes that seemed unable to overcome the stiffness between them. Miya sat next to Damian, feeling nervous about the sight of Kayoko, Damian's sister whom she was meeting for the first time. Meanwhile, Victor sat at the other end of the table, looking relaxed with his thin smile that always managed to break the ice.Kayoko watched Miya intently, trying to guess the girl's character. On the other hand, Miya felt intimidated by Kayoko's presence who looked so confident and charismatic. “So, Miya,” Kayoko started the conversation in a casual tone, ”how does it feel to live in such a big house?”Miya was surprised for a moment, then smiled nervously. “Hmm, it's a little hard to get used to, really. But Damian is very helpful.” She glanced at Damian, who just nodded without saying much.Victor chuckled. “You should know already, Kayoko. Damian isn't good at showing his softer side. Bu
On the way home from the hospital, Miya looked out the window with a faint smile on her face. Damian, who was driving, gave her a quick glance. He knew it had been a long day for Miya, but that smile gave him peace of mind.“Damian,” Miya called in a soft voice.“Yes?” replied Damian, staying focused on the road ahead.“I want to eat ice cream,” Miya said suddenly.Damian looked over briefly with a raised eyebrow. “Ice cream? Now?”Miya nodded. “Yes. I feel like I need something sweet.”Damian gave a small smile. “Alright. But I don't want any interruptions. Just a moment.” He took out his cell phone and dialed someone's number through the car speaker. Soon, a man's voice answered on the other side.“Yes, Mr. Sawyer?”“I need you to arrange for the ice cream parlor downtown to be temporarily empty. I'll take my wife there in 20 minutes.”“Of course, sir. I'll take care of it right away.”Miya looked at Damian with her mouth slightly open. “You... booked a whole tavern just for us?”Da
That morning, the atmosphere at the Sawyer mansion was different. Damian was seen talking to some well-built men who had just arrived in the courtyard. Miya watched from the living room window, sensing something unusual. Kayoko, who was sitting next to her enjoying her morning tea, also glanced out.“What is Damian doing?” Miya asked quietly, more to herself.Kayoko turned her head and smiled slightly. “Maybe he just wants to make sure everything is safe. You know how Damian is.”Miya nodded, but curiosity got the better of her. She decided to wait until Damian came in to ask him directly. Not long after, Damian appeared in the living room. His face looked tense, but he tried to hide it with a small smile when he saw Miya.“What's going on, Damian?” she asked directly.Damian came over and sat next to her. He grasped Miya's hand gently. “Just a precaution. There's nothing for you to worry about.”Miya looked at him skeptically. “But why the extra security? Does this have anything to d
Miya sat on the living room sofa with a worried face. The atmosphere of the mansion had been different since morning. The extra guards Damian had brought in were pacing back and forth with serious looks on their faces. Miya looked at the cup of tea in her hand, not really in the mood to drink it. Kayoko sat beside her, trying to break the ice with funny stories, but Miya's concern was still evident.“Miya, you're thinking too much,” Kayoko said as she thrust a piece of cake at Miya. “Try eating this. If you continue like that, Damian will definitely worry.”Miya let out a long breath. “I just feel like something's not right. All this... the extra security, Damian being more protective than usual, makes me wonder.”Desi, Miya's personal assistant, who was sitting not far from them, finally spoke up. “Mrs. Miya, there's actually something that Mr. Damian is furious about. Someone he was keeping an eye on... escaped from his watch. That's why he's tightened the security in this mansion.
Rebecca sat in her office with a sharp gaze. In front of her, a man in a neat suit but looking nervous stood up while handing over a thick file. The man, one of Rebecca's confidants, sighed before speaking.“Mrs. Rebecca, this is all the information we managed to gather about the woman living in Mr. Damian's mansion,” he said in a careful tone.Rebecca opened the file and began to read carefully. Inside were photos of Miya walking in the garden with Hera and Kayoko, Miya looking happy while holding her growing belly, even some medical reports from the doctor who handled her pregnancy. Rebecca's face turned red, her eyes widened in anger.“Pregnancy? So this is the reason he's so protective of that woman?” her voice raised, making the man in front of her look down even deeper.“Yes, ma'am. That woman is pregnant. The doctor is Dr. Hana from the specialty clinic downtown,” the man replied in an almost whispered tone.Rebecca slammed the file onto the table. “Damian never told me anythin
Damian stepped into the room with a cold stare. The place was dark, lit only by a few low-hanging chandeliers, creating long shadows on the walls. Harold, the police chief who was Damian's partner, was already waiting there with some of his men. In the corner of the room, Tedy, Leonard's assistant, sat tied to a chair. His face was bruised, but his gaze remained defiant.“What did you find here?” Damian asked Harold matter-of-factly.Harold let out a long breath. “Not much. We only found traces of a small fight. Some of our guards were attacked in a very organized way. Leonard escaped with the help of someone who knows the ins and outs of this place very well.”Damian turned to Tedy. “This guy,” he said, pointing at the bound man. “He must know something. He was Leonard's right-hand man for years.”Marcus, who was standing next to Damian, approached with a tense face. “Let me do the talking first,” he said. Marcus approached Tedy and looked at him intensely. “Tell me where Leonard is
That night, Leonard stood in an empty building on the outskirts of the city, his face full of confidence. In his hand, there was a cell phone displaying important messages for his men. The plan to harm Miya was almost complete. He would not let Damian win.“Make sure Miya doesn't get out of the mansion. If necessary, make a big enough ruckus so Victor and Marcus can't focus on protecting her,” Leonard ordered over the cell phone. However, unbeknownst to him, one of Marcus' men had infiltrated his communication network. The messages were relayed directly to Marcus. At Damian's mansion, Marcus read the report seriously. “Leonard's on the move again,” he told Victor, who immediately stood up.“We have to act fast. I won't let him touch Miya,” Victor replied in a firm tone.A car was speeding through the streets of Northderm. Leonard tried to escape after realizing that his plan had been leaked. However, behind him, Marcus' team was ready to give chase.“Don't let him get away!” exclaimed
Damian sat quietly in the small interrogation room, staring at Tedy who was tied to the chair in front of him. In the corner of the room, Harold stood restlessly, going through a pile of documents and notes.“He won't talk,” Harold muttered, breaking the silence.Damian raised one eyebrow, his expression cold. “Everyone has a soft spot. If he doesn't talk now, I'll make sure he regrets his silence.”Tedy looked up, his face scarred but his smile mocking. “You think I'm afraid of you, Damian? I've survived this far. You won't get anything out of me.”Damian leaned closer, his voice low but threatening. “I don't need your confession, Tedy. I just want to make sure that you have no way out. Harold, prepare the documents for the court martial. I want him processed as soon as possible.”Harold looked at Damian skeptically. “Court martial? Damian, this will attract great attention. Are you sure this is the right move?”Damian nodded firmly. “Leonard can't communicate with Tedy anymore. It's
