Third Person's POV
Cliff spent the entire night at the hospital with Melinda.
The next morning, he received a call from Elliot, his brow furrowing, a hint of confusion in his voice, "What enrollment exam?"
"The school staff called today, saying they saw Luna Vanya's name on the enrollment exam list, so they wanted to ask you if Luna Vanya had discussed this with you in advance."
Cliff remembered that Vanya had been shopping with Veronica yesterday. When could she have registered for the exam?
His mind was filled with doubts.
"I see," Cliff said before hanging up, the lines between his brows never smoothing out.
He wondered silently, 'What scheme is Vanya plotting now?'
"Alpha Cliff, was that a call from the school? Should I hurry back to class?" Melinda, lying in the hospital bed, had woken up at some point and asked softly.
"I've already spoken with Elliot and the school. You should rest here today. Besides, the call wasn't about you," Cliff replied.
"What was it about then?" Melinda looked at Cliff with a puzzled expression. After all, in school, she was the only student that Cliff supported.
"It's about Vanya," Cliff said, rubbing his temple with a headache.
"I'll go back for a while. Rest here," Cliff instructed.
Melinda nodded.
After Cliff left, Melinda muttered to herself, "Vanya? What could her connection with the school be?"
Meanwhile, at the Wolfe International Finance School in Los Angeles, Vanya was strolling through the campus leisurely.
Due to her special identity as Mrs. Todd, the principal and vice principal accompanied her.
They were introducing the school's educational facilities and various campus landscapes enthusiastically.
Vanya, already outstanding in appearance, added a touch of a college student's youthful vitality and charm with her hair tied in a ponytail.
Students passing by couldn't help but cast curious glances her way, speculating who she might be.
Soon, Cliff's car arrived outside the campus of the Wolfe International Finance School.
Fawn Carpenter, seeing Cliff's car, felt a sense of familiarity. "Look, isn't that Melinda's boyfriend's car?"
They had seen this car pick up Melinda many times before.
"That's right, I saw Melinda get into this car last night," Raven Schmidt agreed, her face showing confusion, "Didn't Melinda say her boyfriend was taking her to the hospital? Why is he out so soon?"
When they saw only Cliff getting out of the car, their curiosity was ignited instantly.
Cliff, with his stern face and an aura of unapproachability, stood at 6 ft 2 in tall, exuding an innate nobility.

Vanya, led by the school leaders, walked to the school gate and saw Cliff approaching. She had no intention of hiding.
Considering Cliff's close ties with the school, it was inevitable that he would find out about her registration for the exam eventually.
Seeing the principal and vice principal present, Cliff took Vanya's arm directly and said coldly, "Come with me."
To outsiders, the actions between Cliff and Vanya seemed very intimate.
"OMG! Isn't that Melinda's boyfriend? Who is that girl?"
"So beautiful. I've never seen her around school before."
Raven quickly took out her phone, capturing the scene and sending it to Melinda.
[Melinda! Check this out. Is this your boyfriend?]
Melinda, in the hospital, saw the message notification on her phone screen and felt a spark of anticipation, perhaps thinking it was Cliff sending caring words.
However, when she saw the photo of Cliff and Vanya, that anticipation was instantly replaced by shock and panic.
Her eyes widened, and her heart felt as if it was tightly gripped by an invisible hand.
She sat up abruptly on the hospital bed, driven by a powerful force.
Her mind was a whirl of confusion and shock, as if struck by a heavy hammer.
She kept questioning in her heart, how could Vanya suddenly appear at school?
And why were they acting so intimately?
What was going on?
[Melinda, you should ask your boyfriend what he's up to! I feel there's something fishy between these two!]
Seeing this message from Raven, Melinda subconsciously bit her lip, a pang of pain shooting through, but it did nothing to alleviate her inner turmoil and anxiety.
Her eyes betrayed clear anxiety and fear.
She knew that her previous lie about Cliff being her boyfriend, fueled by vanity under her classmates' curious inquiries, was now a ticking time bomb.
[$]
If the lie was exposed, she dreaded the embarrassment and humiliation she would face.
She could already envision the contemptuous looks and mocking smiles from her classmates, hearing their whispering and merciless ridicule behind her back.
She would become the biggest laughingstock among the girls, undoubtedly, never able to hold her head up in school again.
After much hesitation, Melinda sent a message, [I see. Don't worry about it. I trust my boyfriend.]
Then, Melinda threw off the bed covers and said to the nurse outside the door, "Excuse me, I'd like to check out!"
Cliff's POVI pulled Vanya into the car parked outside the school, the atmosphere inside as cold as an ice cellar."Give me an explanation," I demanded, my voice icy with suppressed anger.Vanya showed no fear, responding candidly, "I want to study finance at Wolfe.""I forbid it," I blurted out without hesitation, a sense of resistance welling up within me for no apparent reason."By what right do you forbid it?" she retorted, undaunted."Because I am your mate!" I raised my voice, my tone even colder. "Vanya, don't think I don't know what you're up to!""What are you talking about?" she feigned innocence, looking at me with an air of bewilderment."Melinda is at this school, and you deliberately followed to make things difficult for her!"I accused, my mind's eye filled with Melinda's delicate figure, fearful that she might be hurt in any way."Cliff, I'm not as petty as you think!" Vanya's eyes betrayed a hint of disappointment."Vanya, I know you've never liked Melinda being part
Melinda's POVFawn looked at my reaction and continued smugly, "It's true. I asked a friend from the admissions office specifically. The principal and vice principal accompanied that woman. It's clear her family is either wealthy or noble, probably trying to get in through connections."Raven was also confused by the news and asked doubtfully, "Our school is never short of rich kids, but who is this woman exactly? Do you know her identity?"Fawn shook her head helplessly, "No idea, but no matter how wealthy the people at our school are, we've never seen the principal and vice principal personally receive anyone before. It shows that this woman's family background must be extraordinary.""So beautiful and wealthy, yet trying to steal someone else's boyfriend, how strange."Fawn and Raven discussed back and forth, each of their words like a sharp sword, piercing my heart and leaving me in a panic.I knew that if Vanya really came to Wolfe, the lies I had carefully woven would be exposed
Melinda's POVRaven dragged me to the second teaching building.I was well aware of her ulterior motives. She claimed to be interested in the graduate exam questions, but in reality, she was on the hunt for a wealthy boyfriend. Most students at our school came from affluent families, and many who applied for the finance graduate program were already successful individuals in the industry.Sure enough, halfway there, Raven was already bouncing with excitement. She chattered away, "I heard Wilmot Hammond is here, too. There will definitely be a crowd around him. If we're late, we might not even catch a glimpse."Hearing this, my curiosity was piqued as well. The Hammond Group was a financial giant in Los Angeles, with a vast banking enterprise and a reputation for being extremely low-key.Yet, there were persistent rumors that their wealth was so immense that they could rebuild Los Angeles from scratch, which was not an idle claim.Raven, like an inquisitive squirrel, kept looking aroun
Vanya's POVAfter that, until the end of the exam, Wilmot didn't write a single word.Seeing his nonchalant attitude, I felt a sigh of relief internally.Regardless of his actions, I felt confident that I had nailed this exam. With a light heart, I stepped out of the exam room when suddenly, a powerful force grabbed the back of my neck.[$]I turned around in horror to see Wilmot pinning me against the wall. His eyes were like a rebellious eagle's, with a hint of laziness and unruliness.Perhaps due to regular fitness, his figure was exceptionally robust, and the solid muscles exerted a sense of pressure even through his clothes. My wolf growled in my mind, and every hair on my body stood on end.As an Alpha myself, Wilmot's naturally exuding powerful aura was quite oppressive. This might be the innate ability of the ancient Alpha families.I feigned composure and said, "Hey, I don't even know you."I was well aware that with his strength, a single punch could knock me unconscious, ma
Cliff's POVThis woman was getting more and more audacious, not showing the slightest fear in front of me."Ding ding -" My phone rings again, the ringtone jarring in the quiet atmosphere.I answered the call impatiently, my tone harsh, "Speak.""Alpha Cliff, Luna Vanya's results have come in."The voice from the school office on the other end carried a hint of difficulty. I instinctively frowned, a sense of foreboding rising in my heart, and responded, "I see."Vanya sits across from me, looking at my expression, seemingly having guessed what the call was about."Vanya, I really didn't expect that you would dare to cheat in the exam at Wolfe," I couldn't help but accuse, my heart full of dissatisfaction and doubt towards her behavior."I passed, didn't I?" Vanya completely ignored my words. She seemed to care little about how I viewed her, focusing only on the exam results. From my expression, she had obviously deduced something. She should have passed the cut-off line."Cliff, since
Vanya's POVThe next day at noon, I was leaning against the window, intently reading a finance book, when Jenny gently knocked on the door and said, "Luna Vanya, the dressmaker and stylist are here, asking if it's convenient for you now?""Is there something?" I responded with some confusion."Aren't you attending the Thunder Pack's family dinner tonight?"Hearing this, I couldn't help but frown. With the recent flurry of events, had it not been for Jenny's reminder, I might have completely forgotten about returning to the Thunder Pack tonight.I rubbed my temple, thinking that if it weren't for this monthly family dinner that I must attend, I really didn't want to go."I see, let them in," I put down the book in my hand and organized my thoughts. The Thunder Pack is one of the largest packs in Los Angeles, with many ancient traditions.Among them, the Dalton family's rule of having a monthly family dinner has continued to this day.As long as I am a descendant of the Dalton family, t
Vanya's POV"Aldridge..." I was about to defend myself when the Packhouse door suddenly opened.Cliff, dressed in a sharp suit and followed by several pack members carrying gift boxes, walked in."Sorry, everyone, I'm late," Cliff said calmly.I was taken aback and whispered, "Why are you here?"Cliff didn't answer but naturally took my hand, saying, "Picking out gifts took longer than expected, but I didn't miss much, did I?"Mirabel, who had just claimed to see Cliff at a women's store with another woman, looked shocked at his sudden appearance.[$][$]Aldridge's expression eased as he said, "Alpha Cliff, it's great that you could make it. But these gifts are...""A token of introduction for everyone," Cliff explained with a smile. "I intended it as a surprise for Luna Vanya, but it seems I almost messed it up."After speaking, he deliberately glanced at Mirabel.Mirabel's smile froze, and her voice weakened as she said, "But I distinctly saw you shopping with a woman today. That c
Cliff's POVI noticed Vanya's action, and I frowned slightly. However, this subtle movement went unnoticed by the others at the table. The family dinner finally came to an end, and Vanya and I walked out of the Thunder Pack hand in hand. But as soon as we were outside, she quickly pulled her hand away.I subconsciously looked at my empty palm, a strange discomfort welling up inside me.After a while, Vanya asked, "Why did you come?"I looked at her and countered, "Knowing that you would be wronged if you came alone, why did you still come by yourself?"Vanya paused and said softly, "I asked you."I pursed my lips and replied, "Today is Melinda's birthday. I have to go there.""Melinda's birthday?" Vanya looked surprised, "Then why did you come here?"She now seemed to accept that Melinda held a special place in my heart. But hearing Vanya's tone, I couldn't help but frown and explained, "The Dalton family's dinner concerns the relationship between the Todd and Dalton families. For var
Vanya's POV"Sure, where are we going?"I changed my mind, intending to find out what she wanted after going to such lengths to meet me."I'll take you there." Beata warmly took my hand, acting overly familiar. In this graduate class, everyone came from high society, and interpersonal relationships were complicated.Since joining this class, I quietly investigated everyone, and others must also probe into each other's backgrounds.Beata led me to a car, and we soon arrived at a nightclub nearby. She took me out of the car, and upon entering the nightclub, I found that someone had already booked a private room.Compared to the noisy environment outside, the private room was slightly quieter. As soon as the door to the room opened, I saw Wilmot sitting on the sofa.Dressed in punk attire, his eyes were cold and sharp, and his naturally fierce appearance revealed a strong, wild aura. When I saw the car behind Beata, I guessed it was Wilmot who wanted to see me.As expected, Beata conveni
Melinda's POVToday, when coming to the second teaching building for class, I deliberately took a few extra steps in that direction.I had put in a lot of effort in preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam and was well-acquainted with the daily schedule of the graduate students at Wolfe.I knew the graduate students would be having classes here these days."Melinda, our classroom is upstairs. Come here," Raven said, tugging at my arm and urging me to hurry.I hesitated and then said, "You guys go ahead. I'll be there in a bit.""You've been having Fawn sign you in for the past few days. What if the teacher doesn't pass you because of this?" Raven looked at me worriedly."You can trust me. I won't fail," I said with confidence in the professional knowledge I had mastered. I had this confidence and courage."Alright, I'm going up then," Raven said helplessly, then turned and walked upstairs.Seeing no one was paying attention to me, I walked towards the corridor.I was thinking abou
Vanya's POVI frowned and said firmly, "Alpha Cliff, we agreed to stay out of each other's way.""Can you take care of yourself living alone?" Cliff looked at me, his eyes filled with doubt."I can," I answered without hesitation."Is this how you take care of yourself?" Cliff gestured towards my weakened body lying in the hospital bed, leaving me speechless.I explained helplessly, "I just catch colds easily during the changing seasons, and this time, it's a bit more severe.""There's no discussion about it," Cliff's attitude remained firm."Cliff!" I raised my voice, trying to change his mind."Vanya!" Cliff also raised his volume, coldly saying, "Don't you even listen to me now?"I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down, and said, "Alpha Cliff, attending Wolfe is my own decision. We are just a business marriage, in other words, a contractual marriage. I will be a dignified Mrs. Todd and Luna Vanya in front of others, but you can't interfere with me or harm my interests.""C
Vanya's POV"I started school today and moved out of the house," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady and honest."Who gave you permission to move out?" Cliff's tone was filled with anger. The intense emotion was clearly conveyed through the phone, making my already uncomfortable body even more distressed. At that moment, I was physically and mentally exhausted. The instability of the mate bond, coupled with my weakness, left me with no energy to engage in a pointless argument with him.So, without hesitation, I hung up the phone, as if that could also isolate the negative emotions.I took the medicine from the drawer, swallowed it, and then lay back down on the bed.Under the effect of the medicine, I slowly drifted off to sleep, hoping to find a moment of peace and relief in my dreams. The next morning, I woke up with a splitting headache, and the light rain outside was still falling. But it was the second day of school, and I didn't want to be late.I struggled to walk to the
Vanya's POVI was well aware of Theodore's formidable influence in Los Angeles. Ever since Mr. Winston acknowledged him as his grandson, he had firmly established himself in the city.Theodore's style was rather ruthless, akin to a desperado. In the business world, every enterprise had its unsavory secrets, and the tricky task of disposing of this evidence often fell to Theodore. Thus, no one wanted to make an enemy of him lightly."Alright, let's start with everyone introducing yourselves to get to know each other better, as we'll be spending a lot of time together," Derrick said with a friendly smile.[$]One by one, the students introduced themselves. They were all animated and boastful, flaunting their family businesses, studying abroad experiences, and so-called "great achievements" in society. When it was my turn, I simply stated, "My name is Vanya," and then ended it.[$]The audience exchanged glances, and I could sense a silent agreement among them.In their eyes, I was nothi
Vanya's POVEarly in the morning, I arrived at the classroom. The number of graduate students in this school was not large, and the finance department only had one class each year. Those who could enter this class were either from wealthy families or had exceptional talents. None of them were ordinary individuals.I deliberately chose a seat in the last row. After all, as a new student, I didn't want to attract too much attention. If Veronica knew I was studying here, with her stubborn temperament, she would definitely cause a scene at the school, which would undoubtedly bring me a lot of trouble."Bang!" The classroom door was kicked open with a loud noise.A few boys sitting in the front row frowned in displeasure, about to get angry. But when they saw who it was, they all shut their mouths.I subconsciously raised my head and looked towards the door along with everyone else. There stood Wilmot, dressed in a casual sports outfit, exuding an air of laziness and casualness.Seeing him
Melinda's POVI kept asking myself, could Vanya really have been admitted to the graduate program? No, it was impossible!I had experienced the difficulty of the entrance exam questions myself.Vanya, a Luna of the pack who had never received financial education, how could she pass?"Actually, no. I saw that this woman reported to the second teaching building today. She seems to be a newly recruited graduate student in finance. I don't know what her family background is, but because she's good-looking, she's been confessed on the confession wall by several guys today, saying they want her number."I heard my roommate say this."Slut!" Raven had always been intolerant of such women who used their looks to attract attention.Fawn also couldn't help but click her tongue, "Did she really pass or not? Could it be through some dealings?""You don't know? Wolfe has unwritten rules. With her looks, she probably got in through illegal dealings."Fawn's face was full of disdain. In her opinion,
Vanya's POVBefore I could compliment the place, Derrick hurriedly complained, "You see, I told you Vanya wouldn't like this style! Girls prefer everything to be filled with girlish charm, right?"I smiled and turned to Theodore, my eyes filled with sincerity. "No, I really like it. Thank you, Theodore."Theodore seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and continued, "You won't feel bored living here, will you?"I shook my head gently, my tone resolute, "Not at all. I love this kind of simple and quiet atmosphere. It's more comfortable for me."As I spoke, I surveyed the room and noticed that all the daily necessities were provided, even fragrant candles and coffee machines, which made me feel even warmer. At that moment, Theodore spoke again, his tone steady yet reassuring, "A cleaning lady will come every week to tidy up. Just focus on your studies, and don't worry about anything else.""Considering you've arranged everything so well, how should we calculate the rent?"I asked subconscio
Vanya's POVAfter Aldridge hung up the phone, I couldn't help but let out a cold laugh.Mirabel was already plotting to get her hands on the inheritance my father left me.At the slightest sign of movement, she couldn't wait to instigate Aldridge to investigate my bank account. It seemed she had long planned to seek personal gain from it.I immediately dialed the bank's private line, and the call was quickly answered, "Hello, Ms. Dalton, how may we assist you?""I want to transfer assets to another account," I stated decisively.I silently swore in my heart that I would not let Mirabel's conspiracy succeed."Alright, Ms. Dalton. We will have a specialist at your service shortly."I said coldly, "If any family members inquire about my bank assets, please ask for my permission first.""Understood, Ms. Dalton."I hung up the phone.I used some money to buy that obsidian rough, and my father's legacy had always been stored in that account, known only to Aldridge. It was unexpected that Al
