Just wanted to update and let you all know I am so sorry with not giving you an update sooner. Things are back to normal and I am working on updating the next chapter today. I'm going to be updating regularly again and wanted to thank you all for your patience and support.
I will be working hard to make up for the lack of updating. I am now back home, both my kid and I are back to good health and my work schedule has been cleared so I can focus on writing full time.
Thank you all again for sticking with me through my difficult time.
Brooklyn- My intention to continue with last night was sadly interrupted by a loud banging on my front door. Before even making it to the bedroom, Tate cursed out loud, obviously having the same desire to take me back to bed. He stopped in the hall, I wanted to tell him just to ignore it and they would go away, but the knocking came again, sounding more urgent than before. Setting me down, he turned around and was just about to walk away when I grabbed his arm and held him back. “How about you go get dressed and I will see what it is?” I stated, pulling him towards me. As he turned back towards me, I saw his eyes had become darker. I was sure it was his wolf that was present at the time. Almost immediately his eyes went back to normal, and he sighed. “We will finish this later.” He stated, with a firmness to his voice that was filled with such determination, I couldn’t help but anticipate just what the next time would be like for us. B
Tatum-Just when I thought I would have a great day, being with Brook, everything went to shit. My parents and the elders were due to arrive any minute and Brook couldn’t stop fidgeting. Honestly, I didn’t even care if they stripped me of my Alpha status any longer.Regardless of what was to happen, I now had Brook by my side and nothing else was that important. We could always find a new pack or even just go about our lives without pack life. If she was forced to leave, I would gladly follow.“Do you think they will force me out of the pack?” Brook whispered as we sat in my office waiting for word that my parents have arrived.“I don’t think they will, but either way I will stick beside you. We will be okay.” I told her, moving to kneel in front of the chair she sat in.“I can’t ask you to give up your pack and family for me.” She whispered, her hands moving restlessly.Taking her
Brooklyn-“I am not going to stand here and go over all the details or drag this out longer than it needs to be. Here are the accusations; Brook is here to spy for her mate, that she is the true mate of the Alpha of Lunar Eclipse and here under false pretense. It is also been stated that you are well aware of who she is.” Tate’s father said, looking directly at Tate.I wanted to jump in to automatically give my rebuttal to what was being said. Just hearing the words that he was saying was making me mad. It wasn’t that we were completely innocent in what transpired since I first met Tate, but this was downright outrageous.“Stay calm, remember that it is merely an accusation and they have no proof. We are going to get through this.” Tate’s voice filled my head, instantly calming me.“There are claims that the Luna Ceremony was a hoax and that both of you have been working to tear down the very foundation of t
Tatum-“Are we going to chit chat or get to the issue at hand and the whole reason you are here, to begin with?” My father asked the Alpha King.I still couldn’t believe that the Alpha King was even here in the first place. Granted, I was glad he was and it definitely confirmed everything regarding Brooklyn, as far as being the daughter of one of the royal guards. For him to come all this way to be involved in all of this was slightly concerning though. The only time the Alpha King is needed is when it involves a case of killing a pack member. While it is customary to invite him for a situation like this, it is rare that he thinks it necessary to actually be present. There have been many instances in the past that he wouldn’t take the time to insert himself into pack matters. Now apparently, he thought it was, otherwise he wouldn’t be here. So, what was it that they told him to get him to come? I looked between Brook and the
Brooklyn-I still couldn’t believe the Alpha King was here. More than anything I would love to be able to ask him about my father and to learn more about my life before going to Lunar Eclipse. Until now I never thought I would get the opportunity to learn more from a direct source. That is if I was able to get through this without being exiled or killed. I felt calmer after telling them the truth, the guilt I had been ridden with was no longer an issue. Plus, it helped that I had Tate and Eric here for me.Though I was slightly unnerved by the effect the Alpha King had on me. I still didn’t understand how I had this absolute trust in him or felt like I could tell him anything. I barely even knew him and already I felt safe.I had just about been ready to ask Tate a question about how long this kind of thing usually takes, but when the Alpha King effortlessly jumped up on the stage, I immediately focused on him. At first, he didn’t say an
Tatum-We ended up heading up to mine and Brook’s suite, that feels good to think of it as ours. Though I think it may be a good idea to relocate to another room probably as well. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to be in the room with her, I enjoyed it a great deal. It was just that the room held a lot of history.I wanted it to be fresh with Brook. The room was the same one I had shared with Leslie, and I didn’t want that to be a constant reminder for either of us. Maybe after everything was all said and done with everything else, we could discuss it more. For now, I was just focused on talking to the Alpha King about Lunar Eclipse and perhaps learning more about Brook. I had every intention of just jumping right in to get down to business, but now that we were sitting in the living room, no one was in any rush to say anything. It was starting to feel a bit awkward, except it was coming more from the Alpha King than anything. Unlike
Brooklyn-With all the excitement and stuff going on, Tate and I fell asleep on the couch. Or rather, I fell asleep and then I woke up lying next to Tate in bed. When I crawled out of bed, careful not to wake him, I headed straight for the kitchen. With everything that happened yesterday, the breakfast I had made us had been forgotten. I couldn’t even remember if we ate anything yesterday. Cleaning up the mess from yesterday morning, I was a bit disappointed that my surprise for Tate had been interrupted.“Good morning, Baby Girl.” I heard Tate’s sleepy voice say, from behind me.There was something about the way he called me Baby Girl, it sent a pleasant chill down my spine. When I turned around, I found him watching me with an intensity that made my skin tingle. Things have been happening so quickly around me that I didn’t even know how to respond at times. Now all I wanted to do was push him back into the bedroom an
Brooklyn-Over the next couple of days, things just became weirder and weirder. Ryan had to head back on some emergency that he needed to handle. I had really been looking forward to talking to him, but he promised he’d be back. He was due to arrive today, but I still haven’t heard anything more since yesterday.Tate kept me occupied for the most part so I wasn’t waiting around for Ryan to return so I could learn about my father. We spent a good bit of time training and I now understood why he was so worried. Hunters were every bit human, but to have the same speed and endurance as a wolf was insane.Tate couldn’t explain to me how it was even possible, except for the fact they had been experimented on in a lab. As far as the physical training, I seemed to be handling myself well. Though he isn’t too sure and keeps trying to talk me out of it still.I have continued to receive those weird notes every so often, each time I had
