Chapter 7

Alpha Lorenzo's Pov

I was in a bad mood as I sat in my study room, uneasy. The soft morning light came in unfiltered through the open windows and raised blinds. It cast a warm glow over the room that somehow did nothing to calm me like it should have.

There was always something to make my day all wrong before I had even barely started my day. Today it was the matter of rogues sighted in my pack's territory. Those monstrosity could never live peacefully in the entire pack.

A knock on the door jolted me out of my diary dream and lucid thoughts. I remembered saying to all of my mens about thirty minutes ago that I wanted to be alone. And that loud and persistent knocking was pissing me to the sky and back to earth. I clenched my jaw in fury as I pondered over which one person would dare to disturb me in my do not disturb hour.

It was no other than that.

"Well will you stop knocking on the door like a stupid motor engine and come inside!" I barked the command with irritation.

The door swung open after a small pause and I instantly knew who was about to come in. I was proven correct when Leo took a peek first into the study room before he took a step in. I noticed the anxiety that he was wearing on his face the instant I laid my eyes on him. His gaze was directed to the floor in a guilty way while his body was stiff. He had done something wrong and he was just about to confess. It was so typical of him, Leo.

"Spill it you moron!" I snapped at him with a voice that was laced with impatience.

"We have a situation, Alpha Lorenzo," he murmured hesitantly in an almost inaudible voice that had me straining my ears to hear and furrowing my brows in uncontained anger.

"I do not think you have said this situation Leo. Speak of it or get the hell out of here!" I bellowed angrily.

"I am sorry Alpha," he said swallowing hard and loudly. "It is just that she is gone."

"Who? Who has died again?" I asked irritated that this was what had made him come in to disturb my serene and much needed peace and quiet.

"It is no one Alpha Lorenzo. No one has died. It is only the Lady Loretta.l who is missing from her room. She is nowhere to be found, gone like a speck of dust into the shore sands."

Tension built itself brick by brick in the study room ana a dark silence loomed over us as I processed all what he had just revealed to me.

"She is what?" I asked after a minute of trying to comprehend. A surge of anger rushed to my surface as I sat up in my seat.

"She is gone," he said to me meekly. I slammed my fisted palms on the wooden table hard.

"And you have the fucking audacity and temrity to indeed repeat that in my ears? Well explain yourself Leo. What exactly do you mean by that, that she is gone? She could not have vanished into thin air could she? She is not a ghost or some invisibility expert! She is some random weak piece of shit!"

"She is truly gone. I checked her bedroom myself," he replied to me. "She was not there, not any where, and none of the guards saw her leave the room too. Her belongings are all intact too."

"How on earth could you let her slip through your fingers you dumb moron! I assign you just one task, just one fucking task! And you can not fucking do it well?!"

"I am sorry Alpha Lorenzo." He said to me with a bowed head. I stood to my feet and began to pace the small space behind my table.

I forced myself to keep my voice down despite the anger and terror that was slowly building up inside of me. "So that bitch thinks that she can defy me and then slip away unnoticed?" I asked with a continuous nonchalant nod in his direction.

He returned my nod in reply to my question. "It would really appear so, that she certainly thinks quite little of you Alpha."

A smear of dark satisfaction came to life inside of me, string awake. I smirked as I envisioned the woman running away.

I never knew that she had wanted to run away.

I wonder what made her believe that she could certainly do that.

Her defiance was an intriguing but foolish emotion. She would soon learn pretty quickly that no fucking body had ever escaped trying me.

I always made help available for the flight.

She would soon learn quickly that no one escapes from me and go scott free.
