I lost my appetite the moment Aiden walked through the front door. He had turned what was supposed to be a happy meal between I and Liam into a meal we were forcing ourselves to have.

I sat still next to Aiden at the dining table. After the scene in the hallway, he invited himself to lunch, dragging me along with him and making me sit close to him. Liam could do nothing but obey. I noticed from the way he spoke and behaved that he was terrified of his brother. I have never seen him so afraid of something before.

I still can't believe they were brothers. They were nothing alike. Liam was calm. He rarely got angry, though when he does, he says things he doesn't mean. But Aiden was...he was just bad news. A dangerous, unpredictable psychopath.

The thought of Liam having any connection with the mafia unsettled me, but then again, I would have known. And they don't seem like they were in good terms.
