Cassandra's POV

"You finally got your wolf" he breathed out and I smile. I take a deep breath and calm myself down.

Out of curiosity his mother winders close to the front of the cell and with Lycan speed I reach into the cell and hold her neck against the silver bars. She started to screech in pain and even managed to get a few cuts of my skin but I'm stringer, better faster. Alder growls and shouts but I'm far too gone. She'll die for her insolence.

Alder keeps trying to reach me , he can't but tha does stop him from flailing around trying to get a hit on me. The silver burns through her neck and I hold her decapitated head by her hair and her body falls to the floor in a heap. Alder stops his attempts in trying to reach me and goes to stand in the middle of the cell. I know what he wants to do and I laugh to myself and at him.

He braces his body and runs for the bars hoping in some way a screw would let go and it would give way. His arms and shoulders are burnt by the silver

My father , Schofield and I ride alone t the location and I'm not surprised when it turns out to be an Hotel that belongs to the Alpha King. We leave the car with the valet and take the steps on the first floor leading to the basement elevator. The hotel is pretty much deserted and the staff in duty don't measure up to 30. Top secret. The elevator count goes to three before it stops and opens. I share a look with Schofield and I brace myself to avoid breaking in a sweat. We're actually late and dinner is about to start when we finally find the long table with Eliana and her mate at the head of the table. Unfamiliar faces surround the table and I stand stiff next to my father as he bows and apologizes to a man half his age for his late coming. Eliana's mate brushes it off and she gives me googly eyes. Cassandra's POVThe whole room goes deathly silent as we watch Landon's mother, Mrs Princeton quiver in fear where she is. "Seems I have been too lenient. Do I have to slice a neck or do something more gruesome for you all to remember that I'm the Alpha King." He turns on her and the room still feels like we are about to burn in the heat of his aura. "Luna Princeton are you guilty as charged?" he asks her and she shakes her head or at least attempts to. I watch as Elia strokes a hand over his and immediately the room becomes more breathable. Landon's mother tries to get up when his anger flares again "You will answer to this court on your knees, Luna" he growls and she whimpers."I'm not guilty Alpha King" she says and I smirk. She just stamped her own death warrant. "Luna Williams, come forward and show us what you found that made you accuse her of this " he says as everyone turns to me. I motion to Schofield and he brings out the briefcase that he brought in earlier."Here you

Cassandra's POVI will not lie, collect that much money from the Princetons after the public disgrace at the graduation the other day makes me feel better everytime I think about it. I'm seated at the back seat, while Schofield drives the vehicle in the front. I need to hurry up with Georgiana and make Schofield my beta soon. Just other day i poured the coffee she gave me into the potted plant in my office. The plant died after a few hours and when I asked her about it she said she had taken the coffee from a maid who was bringing it to my office. She said she has met the maid in the hallway and since she was coming to see me she helped the maid bring it in. Since there was no concrete evidence, the maid was out in jail but later released and Georgiana is still as free as a bird. I needed to clip her wings and fast. Soon we enter the borders of the Sky Prowlers pack and I look out the window and watch as everyone goes on with their daily work. "You would think they were not just a

Cassandra's POVI take my time throught the whole day. Checking on what should be checked on and even on what does not need my attention. I stroll round the grounds and say hi to everyone who says hi to me. I must look mad , I know because ever since the takeover I haven't had time for anyone, for my self , my father and mother. For Elia even and I feel weird about turning to them when I need their help now. Jack's words echo in my ears and I sigh." Either you mate with him in that cell or you bring him out, clean him up and then mate with him. The choice is yours and I don't discriminate and I do not judge. I just do not want you to die. And I see through it, this whole charade. Maybe Schofield sees it too. Your heart is in pain because your mate is suffering in there. Do the right thing, sister. I don't want to loose you" his voice repeats word for word and I wonder if it's just my wolf being antsy about leaving our mate in the dungeons. We had a talk on it the other day,my wolf

Cassandra's POV"I thought about your father again and again and I was shocked about the fact that I wasn't thinking about flowers and herbs I could crush to cure whatever aliment was on my list. I zoned off one time during dinner and my mother gave me a knowing look. I was so embarrassed about being seen through that I ran away from the dinner table. It wasn't until a month later at the annual mating festival. I was shocked and mortified to see my dream man or rather the man disturbing my dreams right there on a podium giving a speech as the Alpha's son" my mother said and I naturally widened my eyes at her tone. "It's weird to hear you talk like that , usually people feel joy when they see their mates are people in power. " I tell her and she hums. "I am not disputing that fact. In fact I acknowledge it. But as an introverted person, it was a nightmare. I did not even even know he was my mate then. All I was thinking was that my crush was the alpha's son. I tried to flee but my mo

Cassandra's POV "You have thought about their living arrangements?" I asked and she goes blank for another few seconds and I see a pattern. When you ask her what she wasn't expecting, she goes blank. Or when she is faced with something she did not see coming she goes blank and it is obvious to see her brain trying to make out the answer or solution to that question or obstacle."We have a few building they could live in. There's an abandoned school, they could live in it as a hostel. " she says and I hum."What if they have mates and children?" I asked and she sighs like I'm stupid."We wouldn't bring the mated ones here , just the unmated ones" she says and I give her that ohhhh sound as if I just realized that she was right. We get to the office and I walk in, she comes in after me and we both see Scofield in the office, overlooking some files. He immediately stands to greet me and I pat his back. He completely ignores Georgiana and I smile to myself. He can be petty sometimes. He

Cassandra's POVIt was like he knew I was coming. Or maybe he knew because the closer I moved to the dungeons the more the mate bond throbbed , pulsated even and when I got to the front of his cell he was standing and waiting for me. "You're here" he says and I nods. "It's been a while" I say and he nods. "How are you doing?" he asked looking me from the hair on my head to the shoes at my feet and I tilt my head. "Is it just me or you're happy to see me?" I asked him and he smiles. The idiot smiles."Yes, I'm happy to see you" he says and I fold my arms over my chest. "No anger over me killing your parents, taking the pack from your hands?, where is all the anger? " I asked and he takes a few steps backwards before copying my stance. "I'm done fighting" he whispers but I hear him loud and clear in this empty and echoing dungeon."Done fighting how?" I ask and he tilts his head backwards looking at the ceiling of his cell. "I've made peace with myself. Everything is my fault. Ev

Alder's POVMy skin bristles at the way he speaks to my mate and I clench my fist looking at the size of fifteen of them. I glanced at Schofield and saw he had that same disgusted , angry look on his face for their manner of speech to his Luna. Good, at least I had a glimmer of hope that of I start beating them to a pulp he would join me, at least to defend the honor of his Luna. I flinch as Cassie takes a step forward and makes a show of counting them. "Fifteen" she whispers loudly. "Is this your total number sir?'' she asked the one who confronted her, taking position as an unsolicited leader in the group. He huff and shakes his head. "No, we were fifty. The rest stopped work when it became too dangerous and the wage became too small for the stress. It just wasn't worth it anymore." he says and I flex my wrist. "What's your name?" she asks and I'm curious as well. I wanted to have his name in my mind , ready to hit him. "Eugene" he said and she tilts her head. "Well, Eugene,

CASSANDRA'S POVI know that El had been going through a lot lately and it started from that night when she saw the book. And now it seemed as though there was more to what was happening than just the illness that befell her. And then the curse, the dream that she had. I sighed as she explained she'd been seeing so many things these days and I was trying to understand what it was that she was going through. "Seeing things, like what?" I asked."Like that same dream I had. I don't know why I keep having images of you or Julius getting killed. I mean is there something I don't know? Is something after you guys? Are you running away from something? So many things had changed since the day you found this necklace. A lot more changed since the day you found this book."Her voice trembled as she tried to talk about what she saw and I knew that it must have been shocking, I I moved towards her and held her hand, cause I knew I was certainly going to see what happened... then the terrible ima

JULIUS' POV Sabastian revealed himself from behind Alaric and I took a step back while Alaric, sensing him shielded him from me even though he was unfazed. "I see you two are finally enjoined.""What do you want Sabastian?" I asked."Oh, nothing much, just came to remind you of the oath you made. And you know it has consequences." Sabastian said, and I just knew I couldn't get off his grip easily. As Sabastian's words hung in the air, a shiver ran down my spine. I knew exactly what he was referring to - the oath I had made in a moment of desperation, when I thought it was the only way to save someone dear to me. But little did I know then, the grave consequences it would bring. My mind raced, desperately searching for a way out of this predicament. I couldn't let Sabastian have his way. There had to be a solution, a way to break free from his grip and nullify the oath. But it seemed like an impossible task.Alaric, still shielding Sabastian from me, glanced at me with concern in hi

JULIUS'S POV I found myself back in the past, back to when I was discussing with Alaric. His eyes were teary and it seemed as though I was yelling at him to leave me alone and that I didn't love him but Sabastian. The glimpse of these memories kept coming to me and the times when I chased Sabastian and he just made my life a living hell. All these was erased from my memory? Then I saw the part where I kissed Alaric. I was obviously heart broken because Sabastian didn't treat me well. Alaric always stood by me and always called to me. He never once let me go. The tears rushed down from my eyes because of the pain I went through being with Sabastian. In the depths of my mind, memories long buried stirred like whispers carried by the wind. They danced on the fringes of my consciousness, elusive yet relentless. And as the echoes of the past grew louder, I found myself caught in a swirling vortex of emotions. This was a time of love and heartache, a delicate balance between two souls. Sa

JULIUS' POV "There are so many mysteries poppinv out of no where's these days. I'm starting to think which one would we figure out?" Cassandra had heard about the news by me. And she wasn't wrong. There were indeed many mysteries. "Can you remember any instance where you both encountered?" I shook my head at her question. This vampire was new to me in every way. I wasn't even sure whether what he was saying was the truth.I stood at the mirror side, contemplating while Cassandra was pacing the room trying to think of probably what to do."Do you think he holds the mysteries to somethings? Perhaps he knows some truth about a matter. Would you try to find out?" She questioned and I contemplated. I wasn't so sure about that. Cassandra paced the room, her mind filled with questions and possibilities. The mention of encountering mysteries with this vampire sparked her curiosity even further. I could feel what she was feeling, could hear what she was thinking. She couldn't help but wonder

JULIUS' POV I made my way under the tree branches and away from the sun, contemplating about could happen next and how possible I would be able to tackle it. The moon was out now and the weather caused me to breathe, but then I feared for Cassandra and her family. The doubts that suddenly threatened to consume me these days wasn't helping the situation at hand at all. Some times I just wished I would be ordinary, while living an ordinary life, with nobody's intervention into my affairs. Without having to worry every second of the day. I stared at the moon a little to long because without even knowing I'd stepped into another realm. This realm was one of power, magic, fortune, but absolute no peace or remorse from them. The funny thing was, I'd been introduced to something like this before by the moon goddess, and had no idea what it was that she was trying to show me. This camp...magic existed, power existed, fortune existed, but no remorse nor peace. Then something in my mind clicke

CASSANDRA'S POVThe pain shot through my bone, causing me to jerk. And even though Alder was here with me I just couldn't get any relief, the pain and heat was all over even worse than my heat. Alder brought me close to himself and even though I wanted to snap, his scent didn't permit me to, instead it made me calm.As Alder held me close, his strong arms enveloping me, I could feel the tension slowly starting to melt away. His comforting embrace seemed to create a protective barrier around me, shielding me from the unbearable pain that had engulfed my body. His head was buried in my neck and I couldn't help but moan at the feeling of his lips touching it. I pulled him closer, not wanting him to let go, not even for a moment, and that made me wonder if I was really in pain or in heat. I was perplexed but didn't really have the time to think about it because of the profound pain. Alder's presence alone was a soothing balm to my troubled mind. With every breath, his familiar scent, a b

CASSANDRA'S POV I paced the room whilst Cassandra kept staring at me with concern. My thoughts were running wild, mind was still unable to comprehend what was going to happen next. All I knew was that things were beginning to escalate. I was beginning to suspect Sabastian, he was definitely one of those who were after the necklace. I continued to contemplate, because I couldn't predict what could possibly happen next... "Perhaps there's a way around all of these. We can't keep sitting while there's something out there threatening to attack us." Cassandra said. "I was considering something...the vampires are yet to reveal themselves. Do you think there's something fishy about that?" "We all know that there's something tricky with them. They're cunning and wouldn't act upon their intentions unless the time is right." I stated. "Perhaps I can write the story." "No, you can't. I've written it already, so there's no need for that." Her words struck a chord with me. She was right; we

JULIUS' POV I squinted my eyes as I noticed a figure from the distance through the window. Perplexed, I didn't know we were expecting any visitors, or perhaps it was one of the members of the pack? As the figure got closer this house I noticed the familiarity of it and was caught by surprise at the revelation that dawned upon me. Morgana had really outdone herself, bringing the dead back to life, ascertaining that her intentions are being executed. The figure I was seeing was nobody else other than Kathrine, and my eyes automatically shifted to Sabastian's. It was intended, he had called her here, he had given her that permission. And from what I was witnessing, she had a flesh, no longer a shadow standing in the dark. Now she was the person she used to be before she died. And I knew what she wanted, I knew what she was after too. My necklace. I stumbled backwards slightly at the profound feeling of the shock that was about to overwhelm me. I didn't even have the time to focus on Sab
