Peron's POV “Isabelle, I've been looking for you,’’ I yawned but immediately my gaze fell on Cayden in Alpha's Max's arms once again, the sleep cleared from my eyes and I went to Max then carried Cayden from him. All of a sudden, cries filled the room and before I could even rock him to coax him, Alpha Max reached out wanting to take him from me. “I'll do it,” I dodged, rocking him in my arms but Cayden didn't stop. “Hold him this way,” Alpha Max, walked to me and corrected the way I carried him but it wasn't enough as Cayden was still crying. Unable to take the cries anymore, Isabelle wanted to take him from me but Alpha Max was faster and immediately began singing to him. Isabelle and I remained there, shocked at the way Cayden immediately calmed down at his touch. “All it takes is the right rocking position and a few words and he'll be calm. You'll get the hang of it baby daddy,” Alpha Max teased and I could see Isabelle rolling her eyes. “Once he's asleep, I'll take him in,”
Elizabeth's POV"Where are you?" Peron asked and I smiled. He has finally taken the bait."Right outside the estate. Shall I come in or should we go somewhere else?" "I'll be there in ten," he answered, then hung up. Not wasting another second, I quickly typed, "He's on his way. Begin the plan."Not long after, Peron arrived with his car then I got in before he drove off."How are you?" I asked, looking through the care safe for my stash but he already got rid of it."What do you want, Elizabeth?" "To apologize, Peron. Look, I'm sorry. I realized if I continue hating on Isabelle for no reason, I'm going to lose you. And I can't let that happen.""Or my parents asked you to talk to me and this is all a part of your plan?" "What? No! I haven't even spoken to them in a long time. And after the issue with Dave, my parents have also decided to shun me. All they did was to get me out of that crappy place to save their name."So why are you here? If Alpha Max should see you, it's a gunsho
Bella's POV"Don't you think it's time we started your training?" Max's voice startled me from behind and I turned around to see him leaning against the door."Now? What if someone sees us? What if Peron sees us?" "No one would see us. They've all left. It's just you and me, Isabella," he purred, making Dessa roll her eyes in pleasure. "You ready?""Yeah, sure. I'll go get changed," I replied then went to the room. I was about to close the door when I saw him inside the room with me. "Uhhh. What are you doing?" "Carrying my son," he quickly replied, then reached over to carry Cayden's rocker before heading back outside. "We'll be downstairs, behind the house."I quickly changed into my workout gear, opting for a pair of sleek black leggings and a breathable tank top. As I descended the stairs, a part of me was scared that we would get caught and our secret would be out but one particular wolf was just too eager to spend time with Max.Getting to the backyard, Max was there, gently r
Bella's POVShaking off the awkwardness, I picked up Cayden, who seemed blissfully unaware of the emotional rollercoaster I had just experienced. "You little troublemaker," I chuckled, nuzzling his tiny nose as we made our way inside. The house felt oddly quiet without Max's presence, and I couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and disappointment. Heading to my room, I decided to take a quick shower to wash away the sweat and confusion that clung to me.Dressing in comfortable loungewear, I ventured to the kitchen, carrying Cayden on my hip then proceeded to make lunch. I was the only one home anyway."Hey, girl!" I heard Rosa's voice from behind, then she carried Cayden before hugging me."Where have you been, madam?" I asked with a pout and one hand resting on my hip. "Had some errands to run. Lunch smells good," she groaned sniffing the kitchen. "Can I have some too?" "Sure," I mumbled, knowing I actually prepared two portions thinking Max would eat but I guess the awkward k
Bella's POVMax remained silent, his expression a mix of pain and resignation. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what needed to be said."I never wanted things to turn out like this, Max," I admitted, my voice barely audible. "But you have to understand, I can't change how I feel now. Peron and I... We are together now. We are...""It's fine. But get ready to see Essie tomorrow," his voice rumbled in my ears then he zoomed off. "Way to go, Isabella," I mumbled, sighed, squared my shoulders then walked towards the hall. Entering the hall, Peron looked up from where he was admiring the dinner setup. His eyes met mine, and I could see the happiness on his face."Ready to have dinner, my loves?" He asked, pulling the chair for me to sit. With a smile, I sat on the chair and he took a seat opposite me. As I looked at him, I couldn't help but feel happy for the stability he brought into my life."Everything looks amazing, Isabelle," He praised, causing me to fake another smile. I
Bella's POV"I just want to see someone, don't shoot please," I mumbled and he responded with a groan. With his gun still on my neck, he led me to the dark side of the house and then to an entry at the back. The door creaked open, revealing Essie's tear-streaked face. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of me holding Cayden."Bella!" she exclaimed, rushing forward to envelop me in a tight hug. "I can't believe you're here! I can't believe you're alive!"."I know, I know,” I whispered back, unable to stop the tears from flowing. "How are you," I stammered, feeling a lump forming in my throat as I wiped her tears and her gaze fell on the baby on my chest. "Vayden."Essie pulled away, wiping away her tears with a smile. "Oh, sweetheart, he's adorable!" She cooed at Cayden, who seemed to enjoy the attention. "Come in, come in. We have so much to catch up on."As we stepped into Essie's home, the atmosphere shifted from tension to warmth. The cozy living room was adorned, unlike the
Bella's POV The night air felt cool against my skin as Max drove us back to the mansion, the anticipation of what was to come lingering in the air. I couldn't shake the curiosity gnawing at me, and as the grand entrance of the mansion loomed before us, Max's eyes met mine. "I think you should go in and get changed, Isabelle. Something is about to happen," Max said, his tone filled with mystery. "What is it? Can't you at least give me a hint?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. Max just shook his head. "Even though I don't know the full details, one thing is, we'll find out soon enough." I nodded, my mind buzzing with questions, and entered the mansion. The familiar grandeur of the place welcomed me, but tonight held an unusual energy. I made my way to my room, the anticipation growing with each step. After freshening up, I descended the staircase to find everyone tense and standing. The only people missing were Tyler and Peron. "What's going on?" I asked Rosa who w
Peron's POVHearing Isabelle answer my parents that her parents are dead made me growl silently and to make it worse, I received a text from her saying Isabelle lied and her parents were actually alive and they weren't even rogues.“She lied to us?” My wolf asked and I unknowingly zoned off, the only sound filling my ears being my breathing sounds.“Remember she said she had an accident and didn't know. Maybe it's true and this is my chance to keep her by my side!” I beamed.“If we can prove to you that Isabelle comes from a reputable family and pack, will you cancel the arranged marriage with Kira's family?” I asked my father and mother through mind-link and they both stopped eating and looked at me somehow. “I'll take your silence as a yes,” I said to them and wiped my mouth with the handkerchief then motioned to Isabelle who was clearly uncomfortable and I felt bad for bringing her here. “Let's go, love," I said, making sure the 'love' part was very audible for my parents to hear.
