With newfound resolve, Nicolai made his way back to the upstairs apartment where Alessia was staying. As he entered the secure area, he could practically feel her anger radiating through the walls. He braced himself, knowing that this conversation would be challenging but necessary.

He found Alessia sitting on the couch, her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes hard and locked onto a book in her lap. She refused to look up when he entered and he knew she was not really reading whatever it was she had in her hand.

"Maya zaychika," he said, his voice steady as he approached her.

He could see her knuckles turning white where she gripped the edges of the hardback in her hand. The book with a title in Russian, which he knew she couldn't read. "I have nothing to say to you, Nicolai."

Nicolai sat down beside her, a respectful distance between them. "I understand your anger, Alessia. I never should have threatened your brother. I let my fear of losing you twist my judgment. I was wrong."

The air was thick with tension, the weight of their impending mission heavy on everyone's shoulders."Dmitri has crossed a line," Nicolai began, his voice steady and commanding. "His greed and ambition have led him to acquire chemical weapons, intending to use them against not just us, but innocent people as well."A collective murmur of disbelief and anger rippled through the room. The brotherhood had its dark sides, but the thought of using such deadly weapons against civilians was abhorrent even to the hardest of them."We have to stop him," Nicolai continued. "And we need to find these weapons before it's too late."Sergei stepped forward, laying out a map on the table. "Our informants have narrowed down the possible locations of the weapons to three warehouses in the industrial district.
