Aiden allowed himself to be distracted by his thoughts, and in his dazed state the zombie that was proficient in assassination arts appeared behind him. With a menacing look in its eyes it lifted its club and swung it with great power, intending to crush Aiden’s head with one strike!

“Cr*p” Aiden swore upon sensing the intent of the sneaky zombie. His eyes flashed with urgency and his feet quickly shuffled to the side. Due to his late response he would not able to get away from the strike. The best he would be able to do would be to get his head out of the way. So that was what he did. He then lifted his axe and accepted the incoming blow.

*Boom*

Aiden was pushed back a couple of meters by the strike. Although assassins were usually weaker in direct confrontations, the zombie’s strike contained power great enough to rival the strength of a brawler.

“That is no ordinary assassin,” Aiden thought to himself, coming to understand that no member of this zombie team was ordinary. It made hi

    Within the deepest part of the cave, the soft snores of the brown scaled basilisk resounded. Its body trembled gently with each snore, and it slept as one that had no cares in the world. Suddenly its shut eyes fluttered open and confusion filled them. It sensed the death of all three of its most treasured vassals. Those were beings that even the basilisk would have a hard time against. How then did they lose? Was the enemy that powerful. Soon the confusion in its eyes cleared up, and annoyance replaced it. Slowly it lifted its large head and peered into the darkness, for it sensed the approach of another. The scent of its vassals could be smelt from this man, so their death certainly had something to do with him. The eyes of the basilisk were filled with the ruthless desire to regain what it had lost. Since this boy was strong enough to handle its vassals, then his death would grant it a new powerful warrior. Maybe it hadn’t lost anything yet, it thought gleefully. But to accomplish

    Aiden moved swiftly. His hind limbs greatly increased his speed such that he was right behind the Basilisk before it could get escape into the hole. It had successfully entered the hole alright, but that was where its progress ended.“Come here!” Aiden exclaimed and grabbed onto the tail of the Basilisk, breaking apart its scales and forcing his claws into its flesh.*ROAR*The Dusk Basilisk roared in pain and tried to throw Aiden off. It thrashed around with all its might yet the young Lion King would not let go. Its struggles only served to force the claws in deeper, and its cries grew even more sorrowful.“Gravity Arts: 200kg Luggage” Aiden quickly activated a technique that was meant to increase his body weight to better his chances of holding on. The use of his technique was immediately seen as the Dusk Basilisk that was threatening to sweep him away with its tail suddenly ceased its actions. It trembled greatly as Aiden suddenly became someone too heavy to carry.“It’s a good th

    Aiden’s beast transformation was slowly undone as the redness of his eyes spread to the rest of his body. A red mist escaped from his nostrils as he returned to his human form, and that red mist seeped into his Weapon Deck. The conspicuous ring glowed brightly and transformed into the large battle axe that Aiden had deemed unfit for a battle of this caliber. It floated calmly before him like a weightless feather, awaiting his touch.*Grasp**Boom*The earth trembled when Aiden grabbed the battle axe, and the weapon hummed crazily as it greedily swallowed the red mist that Aiden’s body was giving out ever so generously.*Hiss*The Dusk Basilisk hissed anxiously upon sensing Aiden’s changes. Every Undead that had fought a Beastman before knew that they were at their weakest when they were human. After all, that was the thought in the mind of the Dusk Basilisk when it was digging those holes that littered its cave. Logically speaking, Aiden returning to his human form should have been a

    Aiden could feel something sticky on his face. It was the discomfort of whatever this was that caused his consciousness to return to him. He opened his eyes groggily only to feel a sharp pain that penetrated his marrow and filled every part of his body.“Urgh,” Aiden could not help but exclaim.“Where am I? What on earth happened to me?” he wondered and as if on cue, memories from only a few hours ago rushed into his mind and threatened to knock him unconscious one more time.“Ah…I see…I resorted to using Frenzy,” Aiden coughed weakly and said. It took only a few moments for all the memories to settle within his haggard mind. However, once they had he couldn’t help but feel some degree of fear.“I really shouldn’t be using Frenzy,” he rebuked himself. His father had forbidden that technique for a reason. Frenzy was too unstable a skill to rely on. Not only was it dangerous to the user, it was dangerous to those around the user as well.Frenzy was a technique that was developed several

    Just as Aiden had ventured into a strange and dangerous land for his own gains, there was another who was doing the same. This person was a smallish old man who was slightly bent over a thin black cane. On his left hand were several ornaments; for each finger was adorned with a silver ring. He had short black hair with streaks of gray running through it. This man was one that was regarded as the most shrewd of the enemies that the Beastmen had to face. He wasn’t the strongest enemy there was, but if one asked any of the Beast Elders who they’d rather not face, they would mention this man’s name. This man was Elder Sand.Elder Sand’s movements were slow, yet every step caused him to travel several meters beyond his prior position. He had a black mask on to conceal his features, however his red eyes told of his ambitious nature. For a man like this to venture so far out of the Undead Castle could only mean two things: it was either he had been sent by the Undead Lord on another mission;

    A sound much similar to the flowing waters of a gentle stream filled the ears of every Walker as a large river of blood engulfed the desert. The river was several meters long and stretched as far as the eye could see, going beyond the confines of the desert and even extending to the land after it! It truly was a sea, for it had no end and no beginning. It was as vast as it was deep. The Walkers began to slowly sink into the thick, viscuous sea of blood. They tried to resist the fall but couldn’t do anything other than prolong their inevitable fate. *Twine* Several vines of blood extended from the sea of blood and grabbed onto the Walkers. Disregarding their resistance the vines dragged them into the sea and drowned them, swallowing their bodies into itself. Once every Walker had been dragged into the sea, the bloody river slowly receded and disappeared into a small drop of blood that floated stably in the air. “Return, Sea of Blood,” Elder Sand commanded and that small drop of blood

    A wave of killing intent washed over Elder Sand, causing his already rigid body to stiffen up. His eyes shook as an emotion he had not felt in a long time flooded his senses and filled his soul. The man whose arrogance had grown beyond the confines of the sky itself finally - after all these years - felt fear. Memories of his first encounter with the Great Elder filled his mind as the emotion he had forgotten about returned to him. He had never forgotten that meeting but in order to keep hold on to his pride, he had suppressed that memory. A catalyst was all it needed to resurface, and Great Elder Asmodeus’s aura was enough to do that.Elder Sand was a young Undead at the time, having lived for only a century. At the time his talents as a genius scientist were making waves through the Undead Race and the Undead Lord had called for him. The excited Elder Sand was ecstatic to have his skills recognized; however, more than that he was eager to receive funding for his research. When he ap

    There was an eerie silence following Elder Sand's apology. All that could be heard was the whistling wind and the thumping of Elder Sand's heart. As dead as he was, even he held his heart palpitating under the oppression of silence."Your name is familiar," Great Elder Asmodeus finally spoke. The killing intent that was centralised on Elder Sand decreased, but it has by no means disappeared. However, to Elder Sand this was a good sign. This meant that Great Elder Asmodeus was willing to listen.Elder Sand hastily removed his mask, exposing his old and wrinkled face. His face was pale, as pale as a sheet of paper. "This junior had the luxury of meeting the Great Elder in his youth," Elder Sand lifted his head slightly so that his face was visible. Although Great Elder Asmodeus had not shown himself, Elder Sand knew that the Great Elder could see him. He felt the older man's power scanning him all over soon after, proving that he was right."Ah yes. You were that junior who didn't know

    Kylie had another dream. Well, at this point, she spent more time dreaming than she did staying awake; however, this dream was familiar. It was an image she had seen before and one that she did not miss. She did not think she would see this again, but here she was once again, her spirit stranded on this worn-down planet. The red sun in the sky bore down on her and transmitted great heat, for although this was a dream, Kylie could feel the burning fire of the sun. The Legacy candidate of the Lion King tribe tore her eyes away from the sun and cast her eyes to the only figure present on this planet. Unlike her meet dream of this place, there were no enemies today. And unlike the first time, the protagonist of this dream was staring at her.A figure that seemed familiar yet eerily unfamiliar. It was as though she was holding a dystopian mirror before herself, for the person Kylie was looking at was an alternate image of herself. Same face, same figure, same complexion, and the same heigh

    “What...is...that?” Razor asked with widened eyes. His arms which held Philip trembled strongly as his transformed skin failed to cope with the scorching heat now present in the hall. Yet even though his fur sizzled and burned, Razor could feel nothing. All that went through his mind was the shock of seeing Kylie in this new form.“Did you know about this?” Jack turned to Davis and asked. “No. Of course not. This is my first time seeing something like this” Davies replied. Both men were stunned by what they were seeing. Jack was using his spear to absorb the heat that threatened to reduce him to ash, for his spear’s origin was related to a creature that loved flames. As for Davies, he was using Jack as a shield by standing as close to him as possible. His response to Jack was not marred with lies, for he indeed had no idea what was going on. He had never seen Kylie in this form before, neither had he seen her radiating so much fury. No...wait. He had seen her show this much anger be

    “Those eyes that were formerly lost, are now filled with conviction. They have figured it out.” Bloodlust muttered to herself silently, the pretentious crazed look she had mustered fading into nothingness. Her eyes still held her rage and her quivering from the loss of her brother did not cease, but her hidden wisdom had been pushed to the surface. This change was easy to discern. After all, it was easy to tell when an opponent had suddenly turned cautious.“Don’t worry about her ability to regenerate!” Kylie screamed, not telling the others that Davies held the key to defeating this monster; such a decision would cost them their element of surprise.Unfortunately for Kylie, Bloodlust was keen and sharp. She was unlike her brother. The moment she saw Kylie and Davies exchanging looks and noticed that his demeanour had grown emboldened, she was confident that the two were plotting something. Kylie frowned as she watched Bloodlust rapidly approaching. Razor was engaged with the Blood Daemon, keeping her at bay with his powerful blows and tearing her apart with the blades that adorned his arm. Unfortunately, his victim could be so careless with her actions and her attacks. Her swift attacks and careless nature made it difficult for Razor to be as brazen as he usually was, affecting his fighting style. Thankfully, Razor was not alone. Jack was there as well.As someone who had trained more as a marital artist than as a beastman, Jack was more suited to a battle like this. In a battle that required more caution than brazen obliteration of the enemy, Jack was a better fit. Phillip had also crawled out of the wall he had been struck into. While he was not as strong as Razor or as skilled as Jack, he too was used to a more reserved fighting style due to the fact that he had been fighting against opponents stronger than he was for the past few weeks of training prior to the missi

    Dark Shadows’ eyes fluttered close as she embraced death. She didn’t think she would die like this but alas, when did she become the decider of her fate? Her greatest delusion had been to underestimate the beastmen because they were young. If she had taken them seriously from the start and actually drawn up a strategy to handle them, even if she had lost, she would have taken half of the team with her. It was unfortunate for the one who ruled these parts to come to this realization while standing on death’s door; however, her death was not filled with only regret.Yes, she had failed to lead properly and caused Slender and Muscles’ death by sending them after opponents who were much too ready for them. Yes, her foolishness and carelessness had led to the death of Breaker, meaning that even if she had survived, the Blood Daemon family would have killed her for her error. And yes, she had brought Bloodlust to tears and broken the spirit of the once reserved girl. These were all things s

    For as long as she could remember, she and her brother had been together. From the moment of their birth to the time the family decided that they should go on their pilgrimage, they had been together. That was the life she had grown accustomed to. Her brother’s presence had become a part of her. He was an extension of her image, a mirror that reflected the part of herself that was always suppressed. Her strict nature and bridled character could be maintained because he was free for both of them. Hs carelessness and free spirit made up for her lack of either one thereof, making it easier to reach the level she had reached.Daemons were special. Each one was highly valued, and the Daemon families were powerful in their own right. Much like the Beastmen’s influential tribes, Daemons were the influential families of the Undead, and their elders came from these families. From Speed Daemons to Rage Daemons and Blood Daemons, Daemons were a force to be reckoned with; a force that not even th

    “Sh*t” Dark Shadow could not help but swear when she saw Breaker’s head rolling helplessly across the floor. Her eyes flashed coldly as rage and fear overcame every fiber of her being. It was unusual for the two polar opposite emotions to share the same space, but that was exactly what was happening right now. Her eyes sought the figure of the assassin. She wanted to see the one who had been so brave as to venture into her den alone. After all, she didn’t believe that all the beastmen who had been sent this time were assassins. Yet she could not catch a glimpse of the assassin. She roared in rage as she stamped her foot onto the ground, but her rage would not last long. For in no time, a large figure broke through the door of the throne room, blowing it to smithereens, and barged inside with an insidious smile on his face. This person was a beastman covered in spikes. His shaggy mane was reflective of his clan and Dark Shadow knew immediately who was behind this.“The Lion King tribe!

    Dark Shadow sat silently upon her throne. Her eyes gazed calmly upon the large chandelier hanging from the centre of the ceiling that had been unused since the time she started living here. After all, what need did an Undead have for light. Whether it was sunlight or artificial light, it did not have a place in their land.“It feels quiet without them here,” Dark Shadow muttered, sighing tiredly.“If Slender and Muscles heard you say this, they would be very pleased,” said an Undead who had just walked into the room.Next to this Undead was another of his kind but of the opposite sex. The two approached Dark Shadow’s throne and knelt before her, offering their respect to their mistress.“Bloodlust greets Mistress Dark Shadow.”“Breaker greets Mistress Dark Shadow.”Looking down upon her two subordinates, Dark Shadow chuckled lightly and gestured for them to stand.
