“Not bad,” Sam narrowed her eyes while observing Kylie. While it seemed a simple move on Kylie’s part, it was not to be overlooked considering the absurd difference in strength between the two. Although the two had only exchanged a few notes, Sam was able to tell a lot from the little they had done so far.

“While her movements are still slightly unnatural, they are precise and intelligent. She has good instincts which allow her to evade my attacks, albeit narrowly. Still, it is impressive that she is able to avoid what she cannot see. I cannot imagine the kind of training that the Kingsmans put her through to push her to this level of combat in such a short amount of time. Then again, it takes talent to be able to digest the power they are feeding down her throat.” Sam thought to herself while accepting that Kylie’s presence in the Kingsmans mansion was not completely unusual now. It seemed that Kylie had the talent to actually stay in such a prestigious home and receive their teachi

Kylie fell unconscious the moment her mind determined that she was safe. The moment she felt the presence of another whose anger was not directed at her but at the one who had inflicted much pain on her, her heart accepted comfort and her mind followed as it so often did. Soon she was slumped to the ground in an awkward posture, asleep. As for the person who had come between Sam’s killing blow and herself, it was a boy – nay, a man – Kylie was very familiar with. Holding Sam’s slender leg in his hand, Jack’s eyes were as cold as ice as he regarded the woman before him without any semblance of emotion.“Sam, what are you doing? Is the Clan of the 1st declaring war against the Lion King tribe?” Jack asked calmly. Unlike what the chill in his eyes suggested, he seemed relatively calm based on the manner with which he spoke; but was that indeed the case? Was he truly calm? Well, Sam definitely did not think so.The face of the woman who was prettier than most of the world’s top models was

“Igneous. This matter is not one that you should concern yourself with.” Jack who had chosen to remain silent all this while finally opened his mouth to speak. He still held on to Sam’s leg, refusing to let go even after Igneous’s appearance. Hearing his words, Igneous chuckled and said,“She is my sister. I have every right to but in here. Wouldn’t you agree, Davies?”“Don’t speak to him in that familiar tone. You aren’t close.” Jack snarled, his grip on Sam’s leg growing stronger. Sam grimaced lightly; however, she still didn’t scream.“Oh? That hurts a bit, considering that we have fought to protect each other’s hides before. Haven’t we, Phantom?” Igneous held his chest with an expression of deep sorrow etched upon his face. Hearing his words, Davies furrowed his brows. His eyes gleamed sharply as a threatening aura escaped his frame. Phantom was a title only few knew him by. It was a title he had cast aside a few years ago, and he had no intention of returning to it. The memories

Even among the world of the unknown, the ability of Aura Users was not really understood. If there was something more secretive than the power of an Aura User, it would have to be the identity of the Aura Users. Aura was a powerful tool alright; but its power was made manifest stronger against opponents who had not a clue that the Aura User was indeed an Aura User. However, one could not hide one’s identity as an Aura User forever. Rumours had been escaping the lips of common merchants and simple street hawkers concerning the true abilities of the Legacy of the Clan of the 1st. It was said that Igneous, the proudest genius to have been produced over the last few centuries, had awakened the rare ability to use Aura. For the Clan of the 1st this was big news, and that was because the Clan of the 1st had never produced an Aura User before! So one could say that Igneous was truly the first person to achieve Aura manipulation in the Clan that was famed for being the first to do everything.

Igneous was heavily shaken by what was happening. Although his fist was held captive within Davies’s hand, it felt as though it was his mind that had been captured by the Phantom. How was it that someone who was famed for his speed was able to block the full powered blow of an Aura User?“I guess it really was worth it,” Davies thought to himself silently as he clenched Igneous’s fist tightly within his hand, refusing to let go. The amount of strength that he summoned was unbelievable even to himself, but the evidence of the past years hard work was right before him.Years ago when he had decided to leave behind the title Phantom, Davies had decided to work on a different part of himself. His father had always been bothered by his son’s dependence on his speed and kept on emphasizing the importance of having well balanced stats.“What is the use of unreal speed when matched against someone whose defence is unbreakable by normal means? In many instances, strength would be required of y

“Hey, prince of the prestigious Clan of the 1st,” Davies called out jovially, ignoring the formality with which he had spoken to Igneous when the older boy first made his appearance. Looking at Igneous whose head was bowed, and whose countenance could not be judged, Davies chuckled and said,“How long do you plan on fighting me with that measly amount of strength? Isn’t it about time you showed them what it means to be the Legacy of a large clan? Show us – no, show me – why the Phantom considered you a thorn in his eyes.”Igneous’s frame trembled slightly when he heard Davies’s words. While it was still impossible to see his expression due to his bowed head, one could easily discern that he was close to agitation from those casually spoken words. Jack frowned when he heard Davies’s words. While he was able to glean that there was some history between the two, he had no idea what exactly it was. However, seeing how Igneous trembled from the mere mention of the name “Phantom”, he judged

Aura Users were a rare few in this world, and possibly the next. The fact that their abilities were poorly understood, and their power not well assessed meant that one had to be cautious when facing them. However, even amongst Aura Users, there were those that were far more talented than the average. Just like there were average spear wielders and average swordsmen, there were brilliant spear wielders and brilliant swordsmen out there; and the same went for Aura Users.Since young, Igneous had been hailed as a genius. After manifesting his aura at the tender age of 12, his talent as an Aura User was rated to be in the 95th percentile! That alone was enough for the family to invest mightily in him. As if that was not enough, he learned all the difficult skills of the Clan of the 1st by the time he was 25 and had cemented his place as one of the greatest talents that their clan had ever seen. Of course, much of this information was not known to the world; but that didn’t mean that there

“I see it has gotten trickier to hit you over the last few years of hiding,” Igneous chuckled as he eyed the fist that had failed to strike its target. The massive roar that had been heard was actually due to the air pressure that the fist had generated – and the small part of the playground that had been levelled to nothingness by the momentous blow which was not even aimed at it in the first place!“What are you talking about?” Davies asked, his figure floating in the air and using Igneous’s fist as a platform. In that split second in which he was about to be struck, he twisted his body in a strange way that Igneous was sure not even those who served the Crushing Boa Clan were capable of doing. Then, he grabbed onto Igneous’s arm as a support to occupy his current position.“It has never been easy to hit me!” Davies chuckled and swung his foot into Igneous’s chest!*Boom*Igneous was sent skidding backwards, having received the full force of the blow; however, because Davies was not

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* Several loud bangs rang out as Davies and Igneous lashed several times upon the shattered ground of the playground. Right now, the old playground was not what it used to be. Before, the greatest complaint that one could have about the old playground was the accumulation of dust upon the many pleasurable machinery; however, now even the entertaining devices had been destroyed. The ground had been fragmented into many different sizes, leaving not a single slab unscathed, and the walls were littered with cracks and ash marks. Even in the mist of all the destruction that they were responsible for, Igneous and Davies did not bat an eye. They fought in that same crazed manner, trading blow for blow and going after the other’s life as though this was a real life or death situation. “Hey, don’t you think that we should stop them?” Sam asked gently, her nose wrinkling cutely like a frightened puppy. “I do,” Jack agreed, for the two who were warr

Kylie had another dream. Well, at this point, she spent more time dreaming than she did staying awake; however, this dream was familiar. It was an image she had seen before and one that she did not miss. She did not think she would see this again, but here she was once again, her spirit stranded on this worn-down planet. The red sun in the sky bore down on her and transmitted great heat, for although this was a dream, Kylie could feel the burning fire of the sun. The Legacy candidate of the Lion King tribe tore her eyes away from the sun and cast her eyes to the only figure present on this planet. Unlike her meet dream of this place, there were no enemies today. And unlike the first time, the protagonist of this dream was staring at her.A figure that seemed familiar yet eerily unfamiliar. It was as though she was holding a dystopian mirror before herself, for the person Kylie was looking at was an alternate image of herself. Same face, same figure, same complexion, and the same heigh

“What...is...that?” Razor asked with widened eyes. His arms which held Philip trembled strongly as his transformed skin failed to cope with the scorching heat now present in the hall. Yet even though his fur sizzled and burned, Razor could feel nothing. All that went through his mind was the shock of seeing Kylie in this new form.“Did you know about this?” Jack turned to Davis and asked. “No. Of course not. This is my first time seeing something like this” Davies replied. Both men were stunned by what they were seeing. Jack was using his spear to absorb the heat that threatened to reduce him to ash, for his spear’s origin was related to a creature that loved flames. As for Davies, he was using Jack as a shield by standing as close to him as possible. His response to Jack was not marred with lies, for he indeed had no idea what was going on. He had never seen Kylie in this form before, neither had he seen her radiating so much fury. No...wait. He had seen her show this much anger be

“Those eyes that were formerly lost, are now filled with conviction. They have figured it out.” Bloodlust muttered to herself silently, the pretentious crazed look she had mustered fading into nothingness. Her eyes still held her rage and her quivering from the loss of her brother did not cease, but her hidden wisdom had been pushed to the surface. This change was easy to discern. After all, it was easy to tell when an opponent had suddenly turned cautious.“Don’t worry about her ability to regenerate!” Kylie screamed, not telling the others that Davies held the key to defeating this monster; such a decision would cost them their element of surprise.Unfortunately for Kylie, Bloodlust was keen and sharp. She was unlike her brother. The moment she saw Kylie and Davies exchanging looks and noticed that his demeanour had grown emboldened, she was confident that the two were plotting something. She didn’t know how they had communicated without saying a word, but she would be arrogant to d

Kylie frowned as she watched Bloodlust rapidly approaching. Razor was engaged with the Blood Daemon, keeping her at bay with his powerful blows and tearing her apart with the blades that adorned his arm. Unfortunately, his victim could be so careless with her actions and her attacks. Her swift attacks and careless nature made it difficult for Razor to be as brazen as he usually was, affecting his fighting style. Thankfully, Razor was not alone. Jack was there as well.As someone who had trained more as a marital artist than as a beastman, Jack was more suited to a battle like this. In a battle that required more caution than brazen obliteration of the enemy, Jack was a better fit. Phillip had also crawled out of the wall he had been struck into. While he was not as strong as Razor or as skilled as Jack, he too was used to a more reserved fighting style due to the fact that he had been fighting against opponents stronger than he was for the past few weeks of training prior to the missi

Dark Shadows’ eyes fluttered close as she embraced death. She didn’t think she would die like this but alas, when did she become the decider of her fate? Her greatest delusion had been to underestimate the beastmen because they were young. If she had taken them seriously from the start and actually drawn up a strategy to handle them, even if she had lost, she would have taken half of the team with her. It was unfortunate for the one who ruled these parts to come to this realization while standing on death’s door; however, her death was not filled with only regret.Yes, she had failed to lead properly and caused Slender and Muscles’ death by sending them after opponents who were much too ready for them. Yes, her foolishness and carelessness had led to the death of Breaker, meaning that even if she had survived, the Blood Daemon family would have killed her for her error. And yes, she had brought Bloodlust to tears and broken the spirit of the once reserved girl. These were all things s

For as long as she could remember, she and her brother had been together. From the moment of their birth to the time the family decided that they should go on their pilgrimage, they had been together. That was the life she had grown accustomed to. Her brother’s presence had become a part of her. He was an extension of her image, a mirror that reflected the part of herself that was always suppressed. Her strict nature and bridled character could be maintained because he was free for both of them. Hs carelessness and free spirit made up for her lack of either one thereof, making it easier to reach the level she had reached.Daemons were special. Each one was highly valued, and the Daemon families were powerful in their own right. Much like the Beastmen’s influential tribes, Daemons were the influential families of the Undead, and their elders came from these families. From Speed Daemons to Rage Daemons and Blood Daemons, Daemons were a force to be reckoned with; a force that not even th

“Sh*t” Dark Shadow could not help but swear when she saw Breaker’s head rolling helplessly across the floor. Her eyes flashed coldly as rage and fear overcame every fiber of her being. It was unusual for the two polar opposite emotions to share the same space, but that was exactly what was happening right now. Her eyes sought the figure of the assassin. She wanted to see the one who had been so brave as to venture into her den alone. After all, she didn’t believe that all the beastmen who had been sent this time were assassins. Yet she could not catch a glimpse of the assassin. She roared in rage as she stamped her foot onto the ground, but her rage would not last long. For in no time, a large figure broke through the door of the throne room, blowing it to smithereens, and barged inside with an insidious smile on his face. This person was a beastman covered in spikes. His shaggy mane was reflective of his clan and Dark Shadow knew immediately who was behind this.“The Lion King tribe!

Dark Shadow sat silently upon her throne. Her eyes gazed calmly upon the large chandelier hanging from the centre of the ceiling that had been unused since the time she started living here. After all, what need did an Undead have for light. Whether it was sunlight or artificial light, it did not have a place in their land.“It feels quiet without them here,” Dark Shadow muttered, sighing tiredly.“If Slender and Muscles heard you say this, they would be very pleased,” said an Undead who had just walked into the room.Next to this Undead was another of his kind but of the opposite sex. The two approached Dark Shadow’s throne and knelt before her, offering their respect to their mistress.“Bloodlust greets Mistress Dark Shadow.”“Breaker greets Mistress Dark Shadow.”Looking down upon her two subordinates, Dark Shadow chuckled lightly and gestured for them to stand. And where is the captain?” Psycho wondered as his patched and cracked lips refused to part to even allow him to speak. He didn’t know why he couldn’t move as freely as he wanted, for his eyes were struggling to adapt to the piercing brightness of the sun. He could not see properly. His body just felt unusually heavy. Almost as though there was something keeping him bound. The last time he felt this way was right before he awakened as an Undead. For before he opened his eyes to this world that he knew, his body would not listen to him. Since then, he had clawed his way through the bittern
