Mona looked sideways at the man before turning to look out the window again.

How could she not be angry? The more the man avoided it, the more it meant that there was a problem. However, he refused to say anything. She would not give him a good time.

“I know you care a lot about the relationship between your mother and me. I can assure you that I won’t let the matter with your mother affect my relationship with our children and you.”

Mona heard the man soften his attitude and give in to her. She turned back around and looked squarely at him.

“If you have news of my mother, don’t hide it from me.”

Thaddeus retorted, “Why do you want to see her so badly? Don’t you understand that you’re the same as me? We were both left behind.”

Thaddeus patted the back of Mona’s head. There was a hint of doting in his cold gaze.
