“Is that so?” Mona curled her lips and smiled coldly. “You’re quite sick. Did the fever fry your brain?”

She was clearly the one who called him and went to find him while in her pajamas and slippers on a cold day. However, he did not know at all.

“Do I look like a person with a fried brain to you?”

Mona looked at Thaddeus’s face and smiled. “A little. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have run out to chase after me in front of Ms. Foster.”

Mona gave him a disgusted look.

“You and Marcus are so strange. You both asked me the same question.”

“That means we feel the same way.”

“Oh, please. Don’t flatter yourself.”

The two bantered back and forth as the elevator reached the first floor.

Stepping out of the elevator, Mona turned to ask Thaddeus, “Since you’re here, would you like to have a cup of coffee together? It’ll be my treat.”

“Of course. You rarely treat me.”
