Third Person's POV Hughes felt bad as he watched Jeremy walk down the hall with Dominic as they walked towards Dominic's room. It was as if his body was going through the motion of walking, but he wasn't there. His mind was somewhere else, stuck in a state of shock and pain. Dominic opens the door to his room, and looks back at the Alpha, giving him a sad smile as he places his hand on Jeremy's shoulder, leading him into his apartment. Hughes lets out a sad sigh and continues walking up the stairs with his mates. At least Jeremy won't be alone tonight. He's thankful Dominic offered to let Jeremy stay in his guest bedroom. With the way Jeremy is acting, he doesn't think he should be alone. "I'll make us dinner," Ethan said as they entered the apartment. Hughes opened his mouth to tell Ethan don't worry about it, he'll just have Mary Ellen send some food up. But then he remembered Mary Ellen hid with the other workers in the basement when the elders cleared the pack house, tryi
Third Person's POV Waking up with both of his mates draped across the Alpha's body, helped a little to ease the painful ache that laid ahead of him for the day. His chest felt tight and ached as he walked through the large field of sacred funeral pyres. With most packs, only the Alpha's family is buried. Everyone else is laid upon the sacred pyres, and their bodies are burned as they say the sacred prayer to the moon goddess, sending their loved ones home. Hughes's chest tightens even more as he enters his family's graveyard. His eyes roam over the many headstones, knowing his father is about to be laid to rest, with the rest of his deceased family. Hughes looks down to his left and sees Jeremy with the same expression that he's had since yesterday. He looks pale, and as if his mind isn't there. As if he's an empty shell, going through the motions. The only sign that he's there, is the unshed tears in his eyes. Hughes reached out and took Jeremy's hand into his. Jeremy slowl
Third Person's POV Hughes slows down as they approach the gate, and he immediately notices the guards tense and look nervous when they see him. They look between Hughes, who's driving, and Jeremy who's sitting in the front passenger seat. The guards watch as car after car passes them. They stepped back shocked when they were able to see past the last car, and realize that wasn't even the end of the convoy. There was a long line of wolves behind it. The sound of their paws thunder as they pass the guards, following the last car in. As the packhouse comes into view, they're met with row after row of warriors, standing in front of the packhouse. Hughes parks in front of them and lifts his hand, signaling his men to hold their position. Nathan, steps forward, relieved when he sees Hughes. His eyes fill with tears and he quickly approaches, throwing his arms around Hughes. "I'm so sorry!" The Beta said as he broke down crying for his fallen Alpha. Nathan pulls back, holding onto
Third Person's POV James glanced in the rearview mirror, not liking one bit that he had to take his Lunas out of the pack. His nerves were shot, and he was scared something would happen to them. He wanted so badly to turn around and take them home where he knew they would be safe. But since the Alpha personally instructed him to drive them, and keep an eye on them, he fought against his urges. "You can park right there!" Ethan said excitedly, practically jumping out of his seat as the car came to a stop in front of his apartment. Ethan quickly stepped out of the car and took a couple steps forward before coming to an abrupt stop. He turned back then reached into the car and pulled Claudius out. Claudius's chest collided with his and Ethan grabbed his face causing Claudius's heart to beat erratically. "My God, I love you!" Ethan said, feeling as though his breath was taken away by Claudius's beauty, as the sun shined just the right way on his face and hair. Claudius became a
Third Person's POV Timothy whimpers as Colton changes his bandages on his fingers. "I'm sorry baby. Just one more." Colton said, then kissed his hands after he was done. Timothy blushed then climbed into Colton's lap and nuzzled his neck. Colton smiles at the beautiful sound of his purr. Goosebumps spread across Colton's skin as Timothy's tail slips under his shirt while wrapping around his waist. "Baby, will you be okay if I go see my dad? He's not opening the door for anyone. I really don't think it's good for him to stay there alone. I want to see if I can convince him to move into the packhouse, at least temporarily." Colton said, and Timothy immediately felt horrible for Colton's Dad. He's never seen anyone cry so hard before. Timothy was initially scared when they carried the wolf into the hospital room they were staying in. He was screaming and crying as he clung to the wolf carrying him. "I, I'll be ok. Your dad needs you." Timothy said, then nuzzled Colton's neck. Colt
Third Person's POV Claudius giggles when Ethan slaps his ass as he walks out of the apartment. Claudius turns around and jumps when he almost walks into Colton. Claudius's face lights up when he sees Colton standing there with Timothy in his arms. He quickly moves forward and throws his arms around them. Timothy was so happy, his tail immediately popped out and wrapped around Claudius as he hugged him. "Whoa, cool! He has a cat's tail!" Ethan said, startling Timothy. He quickly pulled his tail back and wrapped it around himself as he looked at the person he's never seen before. Timothy's nose flares, and he quickly realizes he's looking at a human. "That's because he's a cheetah shifter, not a wolf," Colton said, and Ethan's eyes widened as his eyebrows shot up. "Oh my God, that's so cool! So you can turn into a real cheetah?" Ethan asked excitedly, and Timothy looked at everyone nervously before nodding his head. "Oh man, that's so cool! Hey, do you think you can talk to m
Dominic's POVI watched the asshole motion me forward with his fingers like I was a fucking dog. I felt a slight ache in my chest, and I wanted to rip his head off. I hear my steering wheel creek and let go, not wanting to destroy another one. I climb out of the car and approach the asshole who thinks he's so fucking high and mighty with his Alpha blood."Get in!" The asshole demanded as he firmly pointed at the car. Everything about the jerk was demanding. His body language, and his voice that I wanted to rip out of his throat."Fuck you! Go back to the hole you crawled out of!" I said then turned to walk back to my car, but he grabbed my arm and turned me around.I growled as I clenched my fist."Get in the car now!" He demanded."And just who the fuck do you think you're talking to? In case you forgot, I'm the Third in Command of this pack. Get the fuck off my property!"The Alpha growled as his hands clenched, and I fought the urge to kick him to the ground. That thought almost m
James' POV I sit here on the couch with the blanket across my lap, and the book long forgotten, sitting on the table next to me. I watch him carefully, waiting for the first indication of his body's withdrawal of the bond. A sensation I'm all too familiar with. I still remember how painful it was. I remember waking up sweating and screaming from the pain. Not only is your heart broken from the loss of your mate, but you have to suffer physically as your body suffers the loss of the bond. It's cruel, and my heart goes out to Sawyer. Because I know exactly what he's going to experience. Knowing Kent is dead is a double-edged sword. I hated the bastard for the way he treated my best friend, but I don't want Sawyer to suffer either. I can't even count how many times I cleaned Sawyer's wounds, and tried to mend his broken heart. I had an omega too. I can't wrap my head around how Kent could hurt his Omega. I never laid a hand on my Omega. Hell, I never even raised my voice at him.
