Jerson felt restless as he drove his ducati. He could hear his own heartbeat. His breathing was volatile, and he felt restless.

It was the thought of Noah facing dangers during their mission that fueled Jerson's anxiety. Despite Noah's capabilities, the uncertainty of when a person might meet their end weighed heavily on him, adding tension to his thoughts.

The traffic enforcers herded the people to the side of the road. The gunshot-induced traffic jam slowed their progress. The boulevard descended into chaos, further complicating the situation.

Cursing under his breath, Jerson’s feat arises. He feared that if he couldn't reach Noah quickly, the Avialanche might corner his partner. The looming threat of Noah being killed intensified his urgency.

He tried calling him again but to no avail.

Jerson gritted his teeth. If he guessed it right, Noah had turned off his phone again. It wasn't the first time that Noah did this thing to him but he still felt nervous every time. He frustratedly bit his lips, condemning him. His irritation rose.

Jerson’s disheveled hair pranced with the air. He drove his car even faster.

Every time he’d drive past people in the boulevard, they would stare at his fading figure thinking maybe someone needed his aid in some fiasco. Something urgent might be happening somewhere that needed his abrupt assistance, so instead of going after him, people just let him go. They even waved a way for him to go faster.

This made Jerson sighed in relief.

At the same time, a man was driving a car at full speed not too far away from Jerson. The man was heading the same way as Jerson did, running as quickly as him.

The Capital of City B was in chaos. Denizens thought that it was a terrorist attack making them run outdoors. Some were in their homes watching the chaos happening on the internet, where they witnessed the downfall of the most prominent diplomat.

All of those were happening in just a day.

As Jerson reached the corner where he last spotted Noah, a man in a tux get out of the black car. Impeccably dressed, he stood with pride, adjusting his suit. He was nearly flawless, except for a tie that wasn't neatly tied, subtly marring the overall perfection.

Jerson, meeting the man's gaze, quickly averted his eyes, taken aback. The man's indifference left him gaping, and he couldn't help but notice the resemblance to Noah. If not for the stark difference in demeanor, he might have thought them as siblings. However, the man's grim demeanor set him apart from Noah's sunny disposition.

It was as if he’d been through a lot of misery.

Jerson stopped his Ducati just at the opposite side of the man’s car and got off it. Without glancing, he walked towards the corner to check people he would find suspicious, entirely ignoring the man in a tux.

In the midst of Jerson's preoccupation, the observing man seized the opportunity. Just as Jerson neared the dark corner of the intersection, a cold hand closed around his wrist, causing his heart to skip a beat.

“This area is off-limit,” the man stated. “Ordinary citizens that aren’t part of the investigation team and part of the cops in charge of this case are not allowed to come in. This district is also a private division. You have to acquire first permission from the authorities before you can enter,” the man said.

Jerson turned his head and looked at the man indifferently.

The man's grim-lined lips curved into a lop-sided grin as he observed Jerson. For a fleeting moment, he admired Jerson's complexion. In all his life, he had never found a man beautiful, but after seeing Jerson, he acknowledged a beauty that transcended mere looks.

Jerson is such a beautiful man.

Although he found Jerson engaging, he also found him incredibly suspicious.

“Off-limits my ass. I have things to take care of,” Jerson replied.

“I’m Prosecutor Vishnu de Oliveira, and there were things to be taken care of before I let you go. Do you mind if I ask you some questions, Sir?”

“I mind, prosecutor.” Jerson looked into Vishnu's eyes. “As you can see, I’m pretty busy. Please guarantee a warrant of arrest before asking me to answer your indictment and a bunch of tricky questions,” Jerson replied.

Vishnu's brows furrowed momentarily as he found the man amusing, but the amusement faded quickly. His current desire was to silence Jerson and teach him manners. However, he acknowledged the legal limitations; he can't interrogate someone on a whim without an arrest warrant, and the arrestee had the right to remain silent. Extracting information wouldn't be that straightforward.

Vishnu sighed frustratedly. “What are you doing here anyway? This area is private, Sir.” He licked his lips while looking at Jerson in front of him. “As to what I am implying, I am sure you get it,” he mumbled calmly.

“I’m confident that the restriction of this territory isn’t as tight as a virgin's hole.” Jerson smirked while tapping hastily at his IPad, trying to get Noah’s current location. “First, a domineering prosecutor could get in and out here unharmed given the fact that these are for a certain private group to use. Second, the mere fact that I am still hearing you speak nonsense could be a shred of circumstantial evidence to prove my claim.”

With his lip pressed, Vishnu massages his temple. He looked at Jerson who was showing a numb face and was still busy typing on his IPad. While glancing at him, Vishnu could picture his well-built body. Although Jerson was smaller than him, this didn’t hide that Jerson had a good body that could take him down.

Vishnu collected his shredded ego and decided to work on further investigation that he was ordained to work at. He was here in this city, all thanks to his brother, and now the situation forced him to check the case personally even behind his busy schedule.

No, in fact, gunshot made him worried that is why he came here in a rush.

Heeding to what purpose he originally came up with as to why he drove the intersection, Vishnu inspected the area. There’s no sign of commotion that had occurred earlier. The place was too peaceful.

However, this form of stillness was skeptical enough to raise his doubts.

“You motherfucker! Where are you?!”

Vishnu's attention shifted to Jerson's deep voice, picking up on the hint of irritation. Curious about the expression on his supposedly beautiful face, he found it unchanged—apathetic, cold, and lethal. A visible, unbreakable wall masked any emotions making it hard for him to read.

“You made me worry, and that’s all you have to say?”

“I’m just a meter away from your current location. Don’t even dare to run and do insignificant things again!”

“Just let me punch you once,” Jerson said before hanging up. Jerson clenched his fist.

Tilting his head, Vishnu pondered who Jerson might be talking to. The way Jerson spoke hinted at the conversation being with someone important—possibly a lover. He sighed, realizing once more that Jerson was his greatest distraction.

Jerson, meanwhile, resumed tracking Noah, his blood boiling with frustration. Noah's reckless actions fueled his desire to choke Noah and deliver his body to the morgue personally. The fear Jerson experienced now surpassed anything he felt during their past dangerous missions.

While murdering Noah in his mind, he could feel someone was staring. He pressed his lips. There was a certain someone who was making him uncomfortable. It was bothering him.

Jerson then unconsciously turned his head at the Prosecutor, who was intently looking at him. It troubled him more when he couldn’t read what Vishnu had on his mind.

Reading someone’s mind based on their expression was a cakewalk for him. With the kind of job he had, reading facial expressions comes in handy. But he wasn’t able to read Vishnu’s face, and that was what making him feel bothered.

Unable to decipher each other's thoughts, Noah attempted to play cupid, hoping to bring Jerson and Vishnu together. The idea was to mend each other in any possible way. Yet, the seeming impossibility of the task loomed large, given their stark differences.

Jerson looked at Vishnu again. He finds him strange and he would be more than willing to break Vishnu’s legs if he acts suspiciously.

Noah came at their location. Jerson and Vishnu looked at him exasperatedly.

“Vishnu,” Noah called his brother.

Jerson knitted his brows.

Seeing Jerson’s inquiring look, Noah introduced Vishnu.

“This is my brother. The one I’m talking about,” Noah stated.

Jerson looked at Vishnu. He examined the so-called decent person.

‘So he’s the great brother Noah was babbling. He didn’t look that decent, though.’

Vishnu extended his hand and offered it to Jerson, who was looking at him.

“Vishnu de Oliveira. I’m his brother.”

  • Clandestine Affair   EPILOGUE

KIERSONI always liked Vishnu and I always will. Obviously, I don't know where it all started. Is it when our first argument happened?Or was it when he saw me jump at the school wall because I was planning to cut classes and he reported it to the principal?Did I fall deeper when we were arguing all the time and chances we had? Am I already whipped when we became friends?Did I fall too hard?Maybe I did. No… I am certain. I did fall harder. It would always be a painful yet happy memory of when my grandfather sent Derrick Emerson to me. I was enthusiastic for Derrick to meet my friends. I was happy when they became close. All those happy memories when I was in high school were with them. I was happy because I am with them…“Jerson,” Vishnu called me. I lazily looked at him as I raised my brows. “What?” I asked. Vishnu smiled cheekily and he squeezed my cheeks. “Guess what? I like someone!”I faked a smile. Of course, I know who it was. “Derrick, was it?” I asked. Though, I was s

“An apology without litigation is just manipulation, Vishnu. Remember this day. You killed this man… you said that you want him dead… and his death was your fault.”Vishnu aggressively shook his head as he clenched his fist while kneeling down. Kierson was really dead and he saw it with his own eyes. Kierson died and it was all his fault. “It’s just funny to see how this man could easily forgive you after everything you’ve done to him. From how you’ve pushed him into his insanity in your senior days up to how you chose Derrick five years ago, and still choose Derrick after neglecting him even though that means he’ll die. Isn’t it worse than dying? Yes?”Every word served as a dagger that pierced his heart. Vishnu grabbed his chest as he felt like his heart was clenching. The scene where Kierson was lying down with his blood on the ground was piercing a hole through his soul. The feeling was unpleasant. The void in his heart kept on getting bigger. Darkness started to invade him. Va

Kierson was all tied up. Valenn was dragging him out of the mansion while Leon and Harvey were on their back — following them. The whole mansion was a hodgepodge. The shattered glasses caused by the bullets were scattered around. Most of the artifacts were broken. The paintings were hanging down and the chairs and tables were turned over. Harvey, Valenn, and Leon were wearing masks like a criminal. “Stop dragging! I can walk!” Kierson shouted. “We would want to let go because of your weight but it wouldn’t be believable if I let you walk there by yourself unscathed,” Leon replied. Kierson’s eyes twitched. “What the hell are you planning?”Valenn tsked. “I know that you’re still hoping for Vishnu to have a change of heart, Kierson. Before everything else, I’ll have to wake you from your delusions.”“Are you kidding me? Untie me! Pronto!” Kierson struggled and tried to free himself from Valenn's grasp. He was also continuously cursing at them but the three didn’t mind.“Gag his mou

  • Clandestine Affair   DARK HORSE: Traitor

Kierson began finding some clues and documents related to Alex Ferrer in his grandfather’s office. He rummaged through the whole room. From the old man's desk, the cabinets, and the shelves but unfortunately, he could not find anything. Everything was a mess as he nearly turned the whole room upside-down. Kierson sighed and sat on the floor. He wiped his wet palm on his handkerchief. He wiped his beads of sweat and sat on the couch near the table. Gladly, he was okay. The abnormal sweating stopped. His heart rate came back to normal. It was as if his anxiety episode never happened. Fortunately, he overcame it without somebody’s help. He came over it without the help of his psychiatrist. Kierson stared at the ceiling as he pondered Alex Ferrer’s possible logical reasons for ruining everyone’s life. Alex Ferrer is the reason for all of these twists and turns that ruined most people’s lives.Kierson wished to know everything. “Just why the fuck was Alex Ferrer keep on pestering us?

  • Clandestine Affair   DARK HORSE: Wrath

“What do you want?” Derrick asked. “You’re unexpectedly more helpful and more receptive to cooperating with us than I thought,” Kier asserted. Derrick rolled his eyes. “Just tell me what you want… ask me what you want to know. I have nothing to hide anyway,” he urged. “You’re boring,” Kier commented as he plopped on the seat in front of Derrick. Derrick chuckled. “I get that a lot.”Kier turned his head and slanted his back against the backrest of his chair. He pressed his lips and stared at Derrick. Seeing Derrick up close, he could not condemn Vishnu. There was no doubt that Vishnu really took Kierson to be a substitute for his lover. No matter what angle, Kierson, and Derrick really have similarities in terms of facial features and height. It was like Kierson was more of an Emerson than a Ferrer. Eye color and innate autocratic aura aside, Kierson didn’t get the Ferrers traits. Kier sighed and said, “What do you know about Alex Ferrer?”Derrick tilted his head. “Beats me. Th
