~STORM

I stood frozen, my heart shattering into a million pieces as I watched Alpha Richard kiss Danielle. My wolf howled in anguish, a primal sound echoing in my mind. Richard had been my mate, the only person I had ever allowed to touch me, and now he was betraying me in the most public way possible. He was not just my mate; he was my husband, my life.

“I told you he had eyes for Danielle,” Avira whispered beside me, her voice laced with bitterness. “He’s a lying cheat, Luna.”

I gripped the railing tightly, trying to steady myself as their kiss deepened, tongues dancing in a way that made my stomach churn. Just hours earlier, we had hosted a soiree to celebrate the alliance between our pack and the Blood Moon pack. Richard had insisted it was necessary, especially with so many members struggling. I had believed him, trusting his persuasive nature.

I had taken care of everything—the invitations, the decorations, the food. Avira and I had worked tirelessly to make the event a success, and I had been proud of how beautiful everything turned out. But now, as I watched Richard with another woman, I felt lost and utterly betrayed.

In a moment of rage, I crushed a nearby vase, the sound of shattering glass snapping me back to reality. Blood trickled from my hands, but I barely registered the pain. Richard’s kiss broke abruptly as he turned to face me, jumping away from Danielle as if she were a dangerous creature. Danielle smirked at me, a look of triumph on her face, while Avira took my hand, trying to lead me back to the party.

I yanked my hand away, my gaze locked on Richard. I wanted answers, wanted him to explain, to slap me so I could wake from this nightmare. He licked his lips, tasting the remnants of Danielle, and my stomach twisted in disgust.

“Listen, Storm, it isn’t what you think,” he said, his voice smooth but unconvincing.

A bitter laugh escaped my lips. “What was I thinking?” I asked, my voice dripping with sarcasm. I had expected this line; it was the classic defense of every cheater.

“It’s for our own good,” he replied, but I shook my head in disbelief. There was no way that cheating on me could be for the good of the pack.

“Did you even ask for her permission?” Avira interjected, but Richard ignored her, reaching out for me. I stepped back, holding my diamond-studded lehenga tightly as I turned away. He didn’t follow; he knew better.

As I made my way toward my room, tears threatening to spill, a voice called out from the Blood Moon pack. A woman approached me with a bright smile.

“I love your dress,” she said, and I managed a small smile in return.

“Thank you. I love yours too,” I lied.

“I heard you are the Luna,” the woman continued, and I nodded, avoiding eye contact. I felt as if looking at her would make me burst into tears. The last thing I wanted was attention.

“I also heard that you were the one who arranged the whole party, the décor and everything,” she said.

“I and my Beta did everything. I don’t deserve the credit,” I replied, my voice flat. Avira was nowhere in sight, and for once, I was grateful. She could enjoy her victory without my presence.

The woman nodded, looking around appreciatively. Anger surged within me; I wanted to smash everything and send everyone home. But this wasn’t just for me; it was for the entire pack. They adored me, and I wouldn’t let them down.

“My name is Desire, by the way,” the woman said, her smile widening.

“Storm. Storm Evire,” I replied, forcing a smile. If this alliance didn’t work out, I would only remember Desire as the woman who had annoyed me on the night I caught my husband cheating.

“I’m sorry, Desire,” I said, cutting the conversation short. “I need to attend to some things.”

“I totally understand,” Desire began, but I was already at the top of the stairs, shutting the door behind me.

Once in the bathroom, I let the tears flow freely. My wolf hissed in frustration; she had sensed Richard’s infidelity long before this moment. The way he had looked at other female wolves had been a warning sign, but I had refused to listen.

In a fit of rage, I tore the lehenga from my body, leaving myself in shreds of purple and diamonds. The cost of the dress was the last thing on my mind. I stood in front of the mirror, fists clenched, feeling the spot where Richard’s bite of ownership marked my skin. It throbbed painfully, and my fingers tingled with a burning sensation.

Just as I began to take deep breaths, I heard the door click open.

“Storm?” Richard’s voice cut through my turmoil.

The bastard.

I didn’t respond, but he found me anyway. He reached for me, but I stepped back, and he halted, knowing how volatile I could be when angry.

“It was a mistake,” he said, his tone attempting to soothe me.

“A mistake that didn’t end until the vase broke,” I snarled, anger bubbling to the surface.

His lips curled into a slight smile. “You know how I love seeing you angry. Your eyes get bigger, and you look prettier. You live up to your name.”

He stepped closer, and despite myself, I let him. He had a way of getting to me that infuriated me even more. He wrapped his arms around me, and I felt the warmth of his embrace.

“Nothing happened after the kiss, I promise,” he said softly.

“Then why didn’t you come after me? You stayed with her, didn’t you?”

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I did come after you. But I wanted you to calm down a bit. Everyone was asking after you. I had to explain that you were feeling sick.”

I pulled away from him, wiping my tears. “Thanks,” I managed to say, my voice shaky.

“There’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you,” Richard said, and I braced myself for the worst.

“Danielle is my mate,” he began, and my breath caught in my throat. “I know I went to reject her, but I just couldn’t.”

“You could just reject her now that I’ve found out,” I said, a flicker of hope igniting within me. “We can pretend nothing has happened. We can start afresh.”

He looked at me as if I were foolish. “That’s not happening,” he replied, his glare hardening as he let go of me.

~STORM Was there a word that could truly capture the heart-wrenching ache I felt? I was drowning in a sea of depression, disappointment, and betrayal. I felt utterly useless. The only thing keeping me tethered to reality was the pack’s business and politics. For the past three months, we had been building extra walls and mansions on the estate to accommodate Danielle and her pack. Danielle was my husband Richard’s new mate, and every night, I had to endure the sight of him calling her to his room. He mated with her, leaving me behind as if I didn’t exist. It was as if he had forgotten he even had a wife. Somehow, he had convinced me that I should remain his Luna while he took Danielle as his mate, all in the name of strengthening our alliance since she was the sister of the Blood Moon’s Alpha. He had given me a thousand reasons to accept this arrangement, and before I knew it, a tiny “yes” had slipped from my lips. Now, I regretted every single decision I had made. I had visit

~STORM The pack was alive with the sounds of snarling and growling as we prepared to face the rival pack. They had some nerve to challenge us on our own territory. I led our pack forward, Richard at my side, as Navarre’s pack members stood defiantly, snarling and howling in response. “Go back and leave us alone!” Richard snarled, his voice low and threatening. But the leader of Navarre’s pack merely returned the challenge, his voice dripping with aggression. “We’re not going anywhere.” Tension hung thick in the air, and with another aggressive snarl, the fight erupted. I targeted the Delta, delivering powerful blows that echoed through the chaos. Avira took on the female beta, while I focused on the lower-ranking males, knowing there was no female Luna to handle them. Richard engaged Navarre’s Alpha, their teeth clashing in a fierce display of dominance. The betas fought fiercely against each other, and I moved to assist when I heard Danielle howl in anguish. He tilted his head, taking in the sight of me with a curious gaze. The way his eyes roamed over my body made me shrink inwardly. I regretted the way Richard had twisted my mind and battered my confidence. “What are you doing here?” I asked, my voice trembling slightly. His lips curved into a smirk, a wicked glint in his eye. “Won't you say a little hello to your new Alpha?” The shock of his words hit me like a punch to the gut. I gripped the object behind me to steady myself, fighting the dizzying sensation that threatened to overwhelm me. His smirk widened as he noticed my instability. Kieran was a ghost from my past, one I never expected to see again. Deep down, I sensed that his arrival had something to do with the fight that had just taken place, something to do with me. ~STORM What kind of changes? I almost asked him as I scanned the crowd. His gaze locked onto mine for a brief moment, accompanied by a smirk, before he looked away. Suddenly, swallowing felt like a Herculean task, and I began wringing my hands nervously as I focused on him. “First of all, I have no interest in being the Alpha of all three packs.” I blinked, stunned by his admission. “The three packs will hereby be unified as one, adopting the Navarre name. The pack will be led by the former Alpha.” Curiosity nudged me to crane my neck for Richard’s reaction. His expression was a tight frown, and he resolutely stared at his feet, refusing to acknowledge Kieran’s announcement. Pride flashed in Danielle’s eyes as they lit up with excitement. I scanned her body for any bruises, but they seemed to have vanished. Her wolf must have worked its magic to aid her healing. Kieran gestured for Richard to come to the stage, and he approached with his shoulders hunched, his demeanor deflat

I asked him."What other places would have been best for a drink? At least I get to enjoy the looks of these wishful thinkers." He was referring to the admiring gazes of the pack members around the palace.I see! Turned out he arranged this just for the good impression he was going to receive. Well, at least he would be unlike Richard, who would humiliate me in public. "Kieran.""Don't think too much about this. Don't fall in love either so you won't regret it." The moon was stepping out already but still dull at the moment and though I felt the pull, I didn't let it overshadow me at that moment. I stayed strong till we got out of the school gate. "Girl, can you see that?" Bella suddenly pulled me and I stopped to look. "Oh my gosh!" She exclaimed and when my eyes caught what she was seeing, I froze in shock. Close to the school gate was the body of a young boy on the floor. "Is he dead?" I asked and ran to go see. Bella ran to see with me and when we checked him out without touching him, we kinda agreed that he was dead. "He must be a student of the school. But who would do this?" Bella cried and brought out her phone to call the police. I looked through his body, and suddenly, my eyes caught a bite mark on his neck. I held my chest in fright. Shit! A werewolf has bitten h

I rushed into the bathroom to have a warm bath, and when I returned to my room, Kieran was seated on my bed in my room. I flinched on seeing him. "What the actual fuck are you doing in here?" I asked him and he smirked. "You were in my room yesterday. I didn't ask that." He said to me and I couldn't help but roll my head. "I never asked to be in there. You took me there anyways." I told him, and he laughed and got up, coming closer to me while I moved backward. "It's not like you never liked being there. I hate it when you try to act like you aren't." He said to me and started looking deeply at me. I felt very uncomfortable and tried to cover myself up better, but he wouldn't let me ask. Each time I raised the towel, he would try to put it down. I asked him and watched as he got up after eating and left. I sat there feeling very frustrated and decided to just be my best self this period. Life was kinda back to normal, and to be honest, I was just doing everything to stay low-key. I walked into the classroom with Bella and saw that she seemed to be looking better. "What's up?" I asked in her ears and she grinned. "I feel better." She replied and held my hand. After lectures, I decided to go spend some time with her in her hostel, and when I sat on the bed, I watched her walk to her table and touch the whole place, including her mirror. "I miss a lot! There is a 90 percent of her serving and being better but you have got to be bringing her here every week for checkup." He suggested when he saw my mood change, and I looked up with hope in my eyes. "Thank you, doctor! I think I can accept that. I will bring her here every weekend." I said to him and felt Storm's hand around my shoulder. "And before I forget, the other man and last who got brought in alongside your grandma and friend lost their lives. I think the police are on that, so I'm okay." The doctor said to us and to be honest, my emotions went bland. After we left the office, we spent time at the hospital and when it was due, we left the hospital. The whole mansion was quiet. Storm had just left with Cass and Kieran, and I was alone with my grandma, my world quiet. I didn't know if I should call this peace but everything

Gosh! I sat down and then burst crying over again, but this time, it wasn't of pain. I was just feeling very relieved that I didn't lose my grandma because of Jack. The day got bright, and so did my mood; Storm never left my side, and that was one of the best memories we have made together. "Can I at least see my grandma's face?" I asked one of the nurses that passed and she gave me consent with a condition that I shouldn't make a single noise. Together with Storm and Kieran, we walked in and stared at Cass and Gee Gee as they lay on the bed, not knowing what was happening around them. We walked out of the room after a few minutes. Kieran had said to me, and I had chosen to listen, but that was until we heard a loud crash that shocked both of us. Kieran quickly grabbed his gun, and together, we appeared to save Bella and Cass.
