KAREN'S POV

“You think something serious is keeping them?”

“Relax. It's going to be fine,” Jay assured me, squeezing my hand gently. Tina and her boyfriend were running late.

Even though he wouldn't say it, Jay must have thought I was overacting. Anyone would. Tina wasn't picking up and was yet to arrive.

“Excuse me. Would you like to order now?” The waitress came around our table for the third time since we arrived. Jay looked at me helplessly.

“No. We are waiting for another group. We would do that as soon as they arrive,” he said, discharging the waitress.

His rubbing and squeezing my hand gently comforted me but perhaps the sight of Tina entering with his boyfriend would take the pain away totally.

I was excited to meet him. An outsider would probably think I was interested in me more than I should.
