"I told you he was a dick." "I know." Camille sighed, picking at the hem of her sleeves. "If I had known it was his office I would have been quicker about getting out of there.""You learn from your mistakes." Charlotte shrugged and finished applying the dark reddish brown lipstick to her lips. "Now, how do I look?" It was Friday night and Charlotte hadn't let Camille forget for one minute that they were going out. The pink haired girl hadn't stopped regaling Camille with stories from nights at the Silver Dollar (or the watering hole as it was affectionately called). Camille would be lying if she said that she held the same level of enthusiasm as her best friend but the more she was around Charlotte's excited energy, the more it rubbed off on her until she wasn't so petrified of the situation. Before Camille could say no, she found herself in a long sleeved black number made of crushed velvet and barely made it half way down her shapely legs. It reminded a little too much of the gar
Despite it not being all that late, the street wasn’t particularly busy for a Friday night. Cop cars, taxis and buses trundled along the roads while the smell of food wafted from the restaurants and diners along the way. To an outsider, the pair simply looked like two friends walking together and yet Camille could feel the tension crackling between them. She was relieved that the hulking god like creature didn’t try to touch her again not because she didn’t want him to but because she had liked it when he did and it was confusing her to no end. The man had just flat out admitted he had been staring at her like some creepy stalker and yet his touch seemed capable of settling the storm of anxiety in her while starting another storm in her that was much more hot and salacious. Perhaps I am crazy. She thought. That has to be it, someone’s touch shouldn’t be driving me this wild. “Why did you decide to leave early?” Jag broke the silence, his voice much more gentle now but still deliciou
Spending the afternoon with Kal had been wonderfully refreshing and while Camille's brain felt like it was going to explode from all the things Kal told her about his world and stories about growing up, She was glad she had gone. It had been nice to be able to spend time with someone other than Charlotte and Camille didn’t fear. Kal never once made her feel uncomfortable either. In fact he was a perfect gentleman which really was a surprise given that human men weren’t even capable of that anymore. Camille was quickly learning the dynamic of the three draygonian soldiers' friendship. Kal was an adventurer at heart and so it didn't surprise her that he had taken to learning about earth with such eagerness. His insight into his friends also helped shape Camille's opinion of them further, especially Jag. She still thought he was bossy and too blunt but she now understood why he was so serious all of the time. That said, she wasn't in a rush to see him again. Her read of Sid had also been
Camille hated how calm and smooth Jag was being. He was being too nice which already had Camille on high alert but Donnie seemed oblivious. Perhaps it was only Camille that Jag was a complete asshole to…no, that wasn’t right. She remembered what Charlotte had told her. Jag was an asshole to everyone so why was he being so courteous now? “So, what are these terms?” Jag asked once they were seated. "Emma has requested that on Thursdays she be finished by five pm and no later." Donnie started, peering through horn-rimmed glasses at the tablet in his hand. "She had also put a stipulation in that should she feel that the position isn't suitable then she only has to give one week's notice." "Three weeks and what's so important about Thursdays?"It sounded more like a demand than a curious question and it took everything in Camille not to shrink back under that authoritative gaze. The requests didn't seem to bother Jag in the slightest as if he had been prepared for them. Perhaps he had e
"You did really well today, Emma!""Oh I don't know…"Camille wasn't sure if Sid was being truthful or was just really positive but Camille's hot and sweaty body certainly didn't feel like it was doing well. She hadn't known what to expect when she attended the Krai-Na but she certainly hadn't expected to be thrown in at the deep end or for Charlotte to have to bail at the last second. She could have easily scurried away then but she couldn't keep relying on Charlotte to do everything. She was a grown-ass woman after all."I'd say you're a natural." The Draygonian shrugged, arms crossed over his chest and a grin across his face that showed off his perfectly white teeth and those sharp fangs. "Trust me, I've been practising Krai-Na since I could walk.""Alright but I think my legs are going to disagree with you tomorrow." Camille laughed.Despi
"Any dizziness or blacking out?""No.""And have you been eating and sleeping okay?""I have nightmares but I don't feel tired."The doctor glanced up at the mention of headache, her kind brown eyes assessing the blonde for the briefest of moments before looking back at her screen to make further notes. It had been over an hour since the painful headache had come on leaving Camille trembling and her nose bleeding. However after half an hour the pain was gone and it felt like nothing had happened. Despite this, Charlotte had insisted on Camille seeing the doctor and had all but dragged her to the infirmary situated within the Ark. Now they were sitting in an examination room with Doctor Patricia Philips, the young doctor making sure to do a thorough exam of her patient."It is possible that you suffered a cluster headache which mi
Jag didn't feel the slightest bit embarrassed or remorseful about torturing Emma when she had come through the door that morning. His curiosity had him deciding to test the bond that was forming between Emma and the three draygonian warriors, not because he didn't feel it because goddesses, he felt it, but because he wanted to see if their human was starting to feel the effects of the Isis gene reacting to their pheromones. He certainly hadn't been disappointed either. The way Emma's eyes had widened at the half-naked sight of Jag and how her aura had suddenly saturated with her arousal had left Jag a little smug. It had taken every ounce of his restraint not to scoop the beautiful creature before him into his arms and carry her to his bed to mate her as well but that didn't stop him from doing what he could to keep her near him.The feel of her flesh under his hand had felt like sweet bliss and he had enjoyed drinking in her sce
"I'll pull all the personnel files from our base to compare them with what Kal and the techs find and make sure everyone's backgrounds check out." Sid explained to Jag as they headed back to Jag's quarters.Sid could tell his friend was frustrated not only by the recent developments and lack of answers but because it felt like their female was completely oblivious to their bond. Admittedly they hadn't been around her all that much and unlike Draygonian women, humans were not educated to know what the signs were. Still, Sid understood the frustration all too well. He wished they could just tell Emma the truth and mark her but they had agreed slow and steady would be best."Thanks Sid." Jag replied, opening his door to a very quiet apartment.Normally Hunter was on them in a second, eager for attention and to stretch his legs; however, the taego was nowhere in sight and neither was a certain blonde human.
