Leah’s POV It really was going to be the event of the social season! I laughed as I went through some of the arrangements with Emily, but we all deserved a little happiness and this mating ceremony was going to be the thing to do. I could look at those projects a little later since this seemed to be at the top of the priority list. Emily had so many ideas that I almost wondered if she didn’t wish it was her wedding day we were planning or something. I mean, which girl wouldn’t love to have the perfect fairy tale mating ceremony big enough to look like a human wedding?! We spent all day, every day making plans for the next week and poor Sebastian looked so bored sitting through food tastings and flower presentations that I finally gave him a day off when we went tablecloth shopping. Yeah, it really was a lot, but at the end of the day, it was all going to be worth it. In the evenings, I made sure to thank Sebastian properly for his bank card and his patience throughout this entire th
Eli’s POV I had no other choice but to call my mate to come and pick me up. I had no idea where the hell I was. I was feeling seriously weird, and all I could think about was getting back home. I needed a shower and a clean change of clothes and I needed to figure out what the hell happened to me. The last thing I remembered was that bastard telling me he wanted to show me something, a stinging sensation in my neck and then I blacked out. I remember him telling me I’m a hybrid. I still couldn’t believe what he told me. Flashes of incredible pain shot through my body while I waited. I considered going inside to have a drink while I waited, but I could just imagine her face if she found me inside the club. Knowing my mate, she would immediately think I was here for the wrong reasons. Choosing a mate had its disadvantages. That bastard’s men thought it was funny to drop me off right here. In front of a strip club, in the middle of the city where I couldn’t figure out one single damn scen
Leah’s POV “There is no use in blaming yourself.” Sebastian’s voice drifted through the mind link. “If you ran, Eli would have kept coming after you.” He was right … That made me wonder how often he heard my thoughts. “Often enough,” He smiled at me as he walked through the front door. “We need to talk about you and your previous life.” He mind linked me and I looked around wondering who else heard it! “Just me.” His arm slipped around my waist and he pulled me closer, breathing in my scent as he nuzzled his nose into my neck. “Thank the goddess.” I sighed, feeling myself calm down. I closed my eyes and just stayed in the moment for a second. “Why didn’t you tell me you heard my thoughts?” I asked him through the mind link and our eyes made contact. “I didn’t want you to think I was invading your privacy. At first, I thought I was imagining what I heard, but you think about your past life a lot, and then I heard you thinking about two lifetimes with all of us in it. What happened?”
Leah’s POV I breathed yet another sigh of relief as my fingers slipped over the soft satin of my pure white dress. So far there had been no sign of Eli or his pack and although Emily wasn’t happy about our plan, she had no other choice but to agree that it was our only option. So, the time had come for Sebastian and me to be officially mated in front of the entire pack. It was a bigger thing to me than I let on and while we were busy making all sorts of plans it was easy to avoid the enormity of it all, but looking at myself in the mirror, all dressed up in my wedding dress, I couldn’t stop the tears from forming. “Wow!” Emily’s voice echoed throughout the room and I turned to smile at her. “Our parents would have been so proud to have you as their daughter.” She hugged me and I couldn’t help but feel a little sad that I didn’t have either dad here to walk me down the aisle, but Emily volunteered and that was good enough for me. We walked out of the lift and I could hear the people e
Leah’s POV To be honest, I’d almost forgotten about the human woman who took pictures of Sebastian and his men that night when he found me. At one point, I thought that he wanted to hand her over to the vampires, but he never did and she’d been kept safely locked away since then. The room was lighter than I expected. She had her own bathroom and it was clear that Sebastian made sure she was taken care of. A slight pang of jealousy stabbed into my heart and I stood a little closer to him, making him smile. I could see the girl trying to hide her fear, but it was true what they said about being able to smell it, and it smelled delicious! “Miss Witherspoon. I’ve come to give you a proposal.” Sebastian kept his distance, which I appreciated. “I’m not interested in anything you have to say!” She spat venom and I fought back the urge to laugh. I felt sad for her that she got dragged into all of this because of Eli, but if I were in her position, I would do whatever it took to get me out o
Leah’s POV It was strange to think back at how horrified I felt when Sebastian killed Eli in our first life, compared to the amount of hate I currently felt towards Eli. I would probably be the first one to not just strangle him right now, but to rip him to shreds for what he has done to everyone around us. The first bond I felt towards him was long gone now. I realized that I didn’t even feel sad about it anymore. Whatever there was between us, Eli had killed. I would never admit it out loud, but I was grateful that things didn’t work out between us. No matter which way I tried to imagine things, it always seemed to come back to one thing. The moon goddess intervening. I could just imagine her making sure that Sebastian and I met even if I didn’t run away from Eli. It made me wonder again why she mated me with Eli in the first place, but in the end, none of it really mattered since none of it happened. We got word that Eli’s mate had died and my eyes flew to Sebastian as fear raced
Leah’s POV We weren’t really using protection and I wasn’t on anything, and worst of all, we hadn’t really discussed children, but we were busy every chance we got, so it was very possible that I could be pregnant already. I pushed the thought to the back of my mind as we stood back and looked at our finished project. Everything had really come together so damn nice and I couldn’t understand why the first Luna couldn’t get it done faster. What was she doing that I’m not or was it the other way around? Was I doing things she didn’t? Sebastian slipped his arm around my waist and smiled as we looked at the colourful, freshly painted building in front of us. “You did good.” He dropped a kiss on top of my head and I grinned. I really did do well. Emily had a group of young adults together that were going to move in and help with the children and the air was electric with excitement. Sebastian suggested a barbeque to celebrate our achievement and whoops went up all around us. Everybody dis
Eli’s POV I had enough of watching these bastards and was on my way to call my warriors when my new beta rushed into my office looking as if he had seen a ghost. He almost pushed me out of the way as he grabbed hold of my TV remote and searched for a channel. As soon as the face came up, I felt my heart sink! The headline read “Werewolves and Vampires” and the reporter was the girl I sent after Sebastian! She had footage of me shifting in the city! How on earth did she get that? She also had footage of me walking out of the club where I met Nathaniel! That BASTARD! The only way she could have gotten her hands on that was if Sebastian had helped her! “These creatures are living among us. They could be your neighbour or even your closest friend and you wouldn’t know it until it’s too late. We want to caution everybody that should you come across one of them, you shouldn’t try to take them down yourself …” I didn’t even listen to the rest as I lowered my head into my hands. My phone ran
Leah’s POV I was speechless! All of the wolves around my son had shifted completely or at least partially and they were in agony, but he was just standing there looking at them. I looked at the moon and prayed to the goddess one last time. She had to help him! She just had to! A tear rolled down the side of my cheek as I looked at the moon coming out from behind the trees. As the last of its rays finally shone down on all of us, our son let out a howl that shuddered the ground. He hit the floor on all fours as his body started to twist in the most uncomfortable ways and bones snapped into their new places. He howled again and the pain he was going through could be felt in it. The pack howled in reply to give him strength as he slowly changed into his new form. He wasn’t entirely a wolf, but he also wasn’t entirely human or a vampire. He stood up on his hind legs and his arms and hands, which were meant to be legs and paws, were still arms and hands, but they were black and covered in
Leah’s POVI nearly had a heart attack when Sebastian told me that Nicolas had contacted him and advised him that Beverly was still alive first of all, and secondly, those two were going to get married! I was itching to get all the details since I always felt horrible about leaving her behind with Nathaniel, but Sebastian was being a typical male. He didn’t ask! I couldn’t very well call Beverly up like I would a friend and tell her to dish! I had to just accept that she had hopefully finally found love and peace after what had been done to her.Elana had started to get up and walk about the top floor and I was almost convinced she was teasing her little brother because she could. I had never realized that I could love two people as much as I loved these two children of ours. I still kept a hawk's eye on our son. We had no idea what the hell was going to happen to him. Would he become a vampire or a werewolf or be both like his father? Nicolas had been kind enough to offer their help
Beverly’s POV“Beverly, I have to be honest with you before this goes any further.” I frowned. Great! I misread his signals and now he is going to send me to some forgotten palace where I wouldn’t know anybody and … “I can see the wheels turning in that pretty little head of yours and I can tell you that it’s not what you think.” He smiled, tucking a stray piece of my hair behind my ear before taking my hand and leading me into my bedroom. He closed the door behind us and locked it which kind of scared and excited me at the same time! I was surprised when he walked up to me and slipped his arms around my waist and I felt myself go a little rigid. I’d been disappointed far too many times in my life. I have no idea why I even thought this time things could be different!“I’ve fallen in love with you.” He smiled and I felt my cheeks turn bright red as I gaped at him with wide eyes.“I’m sorry.” I was swallowing air like a damn fish out of the water! “I don’t think I heard you right. Did
Leah’s POVTime flew by and before I knew it, I was on our bed screaming my lungs out, pushing a watermelon through a hole that wasn’t made for it!! I looked at Emily with wide eyes, thinking this was happening way too fast. I thought we might still have time to get to the hospital. Wasn’t that the way things were meant to work? But noooo! Our son had to start coming out as the elevator went down, so as soon as the doors opened on the ground floor, Emily pressed the button to take us back up. There was no time to wait for the doctor. We had barely made it to bed when I shouted that I needed to push. Sebastian wasn’t even here yet! He was out patrolling the borders with the warriors!“One last big push, Leah.” Emily looked as though she was feeling my pain as I shook my head.“NOOOO! I want Sebastian!” I cried.“This baby isn’t going to wait for
Beverley’s POVNicolas didn’t seem so bad, but I didn’t trust anything with fangs or canines or any supernatural strength anymore. They all found a way to lie to you eventually. Even that werewolf girl I met a couple of months ago. She sat there and did nothing while I was dragged off to be killed by Nathaniel! I wondered what the chances were of getting revenge but quickly pushed that idea to the back of my mind. If what happened to Eli was an indication of what happened when you wanted revenge, then I didn’t want any part of it! I thought for a moment of joining Nicolas and his coven, but I would never be able to feel totally at home.“There is one more option.” His voice interrupted my line of thinking. “But I don’t think you will be interested, since it was originally Nathaniel’s pet project. We have, however, found that there is still a need for it.” He fro
Beverly’s POVI had been there for a couple of days and the only people I saw were the guard and the girl who brought me food and clothes. I tried asking the guard what they planned on doing with me and who the hell was in charge around here, but he would just shrug and mumble before leaving me locked away in my room again. At night, I could hear whispers in the passages, but I could never make out who it was or what they were saying. I had half expected someone to come in here and interrogate me, but nothing. It was a total communication block and I was slowly losing my mind.I might not be entirely human anymore, but surely, they could allow me out of this room once in a while. They were feeding me so I couldn’t think that they planned on killing me. Whoever the hell they were. I could smell that they were vampires. I’d learned how to tell the difference thanks to the very short time I pretended to like Nathaniel. Yeah
Leah’s POVI was so damn excited about bringing Elana home that I felt nauseous the entire time! That combined with my morning sickness made me feel physically green, but I must have hidden it well because, thankfully, nobody asked me if I was okay. We had a picture session at the orphanage as Elana said goodbye to the staff and again as we arrived home. It had been a pretty exciting time just to bring her here, and we walked into the main dining room where the pack was waiting. The food smelled incredible as usual and we made our way around the room introducing everyone to our little girl. She was laughing and my heart sang each time her beautiful laugh rang through the air. It was probably one of the most prized moments of my life. After a little while, Elana started to yawn and I laughed, informing everyone that they were welcome to carry on with the party but that it seemed as though our little guest of honour needed a nap. We t
Sebastian’s POVThanks to the fact that Eli had killed Nathaniel, there was nobody anymore to tell me I couldn’t kill the bastard! I couldn’t focus on my pack around me that was being slaughtered by the hybrids. My focus was on Eli, and killing him! If I understood the sire line correctly, as soon as he died, his entire line would die with him! Thanks to his brilliant plan to make them all hybrids! I groaned as he pulled out a chunk of my hair and I turned as fast as I could to face him again. When I noticed he was distracted, I attacked again and this time I tasted blood. It looked as though the arrival of the vampires didn’t change a thing in his mind! He probably thought his pack was strong enough to take on all of us! As he sprinted forward again, all I thought about was that he was the one I wanted to rip to shreds! Bodies were falling all around us as we continued to rip into each other, staining both our coa
Eli’s POVI waited until I was sure all my people were in the great hall before I walked in. As I took my place at the podium, I stood looking at all of them.“For years now, we’ve had to take whatever our neighbours dished our way. Alpha Sebastian even stole my mate and claimed her as his own when he found out that she was my destined mate.” I knew the stories had been circling around the pack so it wouldn’t be news to any of them to find out that Leah was mine! “Then, he sent someone to kill our Luna!” I could feel the anger building up in the room and I knew that last statement was going to be enough to get everyone on my side. Even the people who would normally vote against a war wouldn’t be able to do it this time, since our Luna was killed by Sebastian. I didn’t need proof of this. I knew they would believe me because of what I was about to tell them. “When I wouldn’t give him our entire territory, he had me kidnapped.” I pretended to be unable to look at them, but I was slowly
