Chapter 2

Serena pov

I stood frozen in the doorway, my eyes fixed on the scene in front of me. Logan, my fiancé, was lying on the bed, my stepmother Victoria cradled on top of him. My mind struggled to process what I was seeing. It was like a punch to the gut, a slap in the face. I felt like I was going to vomit.

My mouth hung open in shock, my words stuck in my throat. I tried to speak, but all that came out was a stutter. "L-Logan... you're... She's my stepmother. How can you...!" I trailed off, my voice shaking with rage and hurt.

Logan slowly sat up, with no look of guilt on his face. Victoria rolled her eyes as she got off the bed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "About time you found out," she said.

"How could you?" I spat, my voice venomous. "You're my stepmother. You're married to my father”. I yelled, before turning to face Logan, what shocked me most was the unbothered look he had on. Like he hasn’t done anything wrong.

“Logan, how can you do this to me? I trust you so much, why!! And Victoria of all people”. I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady. My heart was aching in pain. I was silently praying he denied all this and blamed it on my stepmother.

He was the only thing.. family.. friend. He was my everything, my mate. And yet, he did this to me. He betrayed me in the worst possible way. With my own stepmother. I felt a wave of nausea wash over me, and I thought I was going to throw up.

But these words only shattered my hopes, causing rage to bubble through me. Logan shrugged. "Oh please, this is what I hate about you. Crying and making everything over dramatic". He rolled his eyes.

"Look, you’re boring. What kind of girl says she wants to wait until marriage to kiss her boyfriend. If you weren't my mate, do you think I would be with someone like you?".

I felt a sting from his words. "What's wrong with waiting?" I demanded. "It's what I believe in."

Logan scoffed. "You're still stuck on that whole 'waiting until marriage' thing, aren't you? What kind of girl does that? You're not even willing to kiss me, how can you expect me to be satisfied with you?".

I felt a wave of humiliation wash over me. Why is it always about sex! Just because I was an omega doesn’t mean my only purpose was to bear child and be a thing of pleasure.

"I have needs and you’re too fucking boring to fulfill them for me," Logan continued, his voice cold and detached. "If it was left to me, I would choose to be with Victoria rather than have someone like you as my mate”.

Every word felt like a dagger stabbed into my chest. My heart squeezed in pain at his words. I told him those words last year! He couldn’t even wait a year, just a year before cheating.

"So here’s what we are gonna do, Selena," Logan said, his voice dripping with condescension. "We will continue as planned for our marriage, you can pretend none of this happened. Don’t worry, once we are married, I won’t sleep with anyone else".

"After all, I’m the man, and it’s common for a thing like this to happen," he added, smiling over at Victoria.

"It will be better for you to delete that video. Don’t even think of showing it to your father, it's not like he would believe you anyways. After all, I'm pregnant with this heir". Victoria said, rubbing her belly.

I scoffed, fighting back the tears threatening to spill. "I mean what could an omega like you possibly offer an alpha?" Victoria added, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "And I can promise you this, Selena. If you dare post that video, I will make sure you lose everything you ever own".

I felt a wave of anger wash over me. How could they be so cruel? So heartless?

"You're going to regret this, Logan," I spat, my voice venomous. "You're going to regret hurting me like this."

Logan just laughed. "I doubt it," he said. "I'm just being honest with you, Serena. You're not what I want. And I'm not going to pretend otherwise."

“And trust me, no one will marry you if I don’t. I mean..”. He paused, his eyes trailing over my body with disgust. He pulled Victoria even closer, his lips clashing with her as they kissed hungrily, his hand roam around her body.

"But if you fall on your knees and apologize now, I will pretend you didn't just disrespect your alpha. We would still be mates. After all, I kind of like you". He smirks, turning to me.

I bit my lips hard until it drew blood, all those years of him helping me. What suddenly changed? I stared at Logan, wondering if he was the same boy who helped and took care of him.

“And Who would possibly want you, an omega, as their mate? And Serena, you should really be happy I didn’t choose to publicly humiliate and reject you”. My eyes widened in shock at his words.

“Jokes on you if you think I would still want you as my mate. Even if no one wants me anymore, I won’t accept you as my mate again”. I murmured to him. He stared at me, speechlessly.

Victoria's voice cut through the air, sharp and dismissive. "You're overstaying your welcome, you can leave now," she snapped, her eyes never leaving Logan's face as she straddled him once more.

Acting like I wasn’t even in the room, she kissed him, and he... Logan eagerly opened up for her, his hands grasping for her waist. My stomach twisted in disgust, a wave of nausea washing over me.

"Logan, you’re going to regret this. I promise you, you will wish you had never met me. And you…" I started to say, but he cut me off, his expression twisting into a scowl. He broke away from Victoria, his eyes blazing with anger and irritation as he stared at me.

“Leave”. He commanded, using his alpha tone on me. I bowed my head in submission, clenching my phone tightly in my hand, staring at the man I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. No matter what happens to me, I will surely show this video to father and the alpha.
