Hailey’s POV
He didn’t say a word and neither did I as the pretty blonde staff served the food on the table, and then bowed to him before muttering; “Alpha, your food is served now, you may eat.” Hades dismissed the girl then but that is after he threw another pointed look at me. It was obvious that he knew I had lied about the food just to get the girl here but he said nothing until she had walked out of the room. Then he turned to the door too, but just as I thought that he was about to leave, he fastened the door’s lock, threw the key into his pocket then dipped his hands into the same pocket as he leaned against the door to glare at me. “What did you try to do earlier?” He drawled in that low seductive voice of his that always managed to get me wet. “And why were you trying to attack me?” As the questions left his lips, all I could do was shake my head because I knew that no amount of explanation could make excuses for what I had intended to do. I had called the girl up here by lying about Hades, then I had planned to knock her out with the lamp, change into her clothes then sneak out of the place. Easy plan right? Just that it didn’t work out that way. My shoulder sank in defeat but still I said nothing. I’d rather die than hurt my pride that way. “Why did you ask her to bring my lunch here?” He continued, ignoring the fact that I was silent and this time, I immediately answered as a less questionable lie sprung into my head. I said; “I asked her to come her because I felt that she wouldn’t if I said the food was mine. I do not know where the kitchen is and I am hungry… moreover I feared that they might poison it if they learned that it belonged to a prisoner.” Hades squinted at me but said nothing. Obviously, he didn’t believe me but he didn’t argue. I had even begun to think that he would let it slide as he wasn’t saying anything until suddenly, he barked; “Come here!” And I nearly jumped out of my skin as I scrambled over to where he was. I stood a few feet away from him, mostly from self defense but not too far that it would annoy him. I noticed how his eyes roved my body while I did this, and it wasn’t in a subtle manner. He looked at me like he was undressing me and like he could literally see everything, even though I was clad in shabby looking clothes. Something about the intensity in his eyes made me shiver as an unknown feeling shot through me, electrocuting me even to my core. I peeked up at him from under hooded lashes and subconsciously stepped back when he suddenly stepped closer. My reaction made him smile as he then began to slowly walk over to me, stalking me even as I took several steps away. I only stopped moving when my back hit the wall. But he didn’t stop. If anything, he sauntered toward me even more, increasing his strides as he backed me to the wall. “Did you just try to lure the unsuspecting servant here to hit her with that?” He snarled, pointing at the shattered lamp on the floor, and wordlessly, I shook my head. “What were your intentions, Hailey? Were you trying to sort out ways to escape ME?” Again, I shook my head but I was a little hesitant, and he caught that small action. “So you were?” He seethed, wrapping his manacle-like fingers around my upper arm. My body tensed as his fingers dug into my skin and with a frown, I growled; “Stop! You’re hurting me!” Something about my words, or was it my tone of voice made him even angrier. A deep frown etched its way to his face and with a flip, he turned me around and pushed me against the wall such that my front was pressed into the cold brick while his was pressed into my back. A shiver ran up my spine when he spoke into my ear, and it felt as though each word was directly being pressed into my mind while his breath elicited sparks on my skin, especially around my ear where it was directed at. He growled; “You don’t raise your voice at me, kitten, I am your boss. I bought you and I would waste no time to return you back to where I got you from if you do not learn to tone down your voice.” His words took me down a few seconds of memory lane, and after remembering the things I and the other girls were subjected to while at the auction house, I stilled. It was bad. Extremely bad. Inhumane even. My mind went to Ally, my only friend back there and upon realization that she was never bought that day, my heart broke. I wanted to be close to her, to be with her but at the same time, I wasn’t sure I wanted to return there. I was hated by most of the girls there- Ally wasn’t, and sometimes she often told me that the other girls didn’t like me because the ‘Boss’ favored me to the rest. They thought he did because he always called me up to his office and always asked me to eat with him, but little did they know that whenever I went up to him, he assaulted me. He never asked for my presence because he liked me. He did because he wanted a toy. I was subjected to a lot of abuse, especially sexual abuse but he never raped me because according to him, he wanted me to remain a virgin so that I could be bought at a high price. Which eventually happened. My gaze snapped back to the wall like someone shaking out of a daze and I blinked away at the tears that had pooled in my eyes. I had almost forgotten where I was and what I was doing until I felt something on my lower back, pressing into me so uncomfortably that I shifted in my position. A low growl sounded from behind me and I was stunned when I realized that Hades was still pressed into me and that it was his erection digging into my lower back. A blush crept up my face at the situation and without thinking, I blurted out the first word I could. I said; “Sorry.” That seemed to make him still but before he could respond, I heard clicking sounds on the door. Someone was trying to get in, and obviously, they had the key to the room just like Hades’ did now with the one in his pocket. Hades jumped away from me then but he didn’t step too far away from me and just as he did, the door suddenly opened, revealing his two brothers. They were people I didn’t know, but at this point, I already hated them. Chad’s eyes danced with amusement as he looked between Hades and I, and when it rested on the tent now formed on Hades’ trouser, he smirked and whispered; “Brother, why weren’t we invited to the party too?” It took me a moment to understand what he was saying but when I did, I dropped my head in shame, which elicited laughters from both of them. These brothers were not only shameless, they were perverted as well.Hailey’s POV“I didn’t invite you because there’s no party.” Hades answered, fixating his firm gaze on his brother, Chad, who grunted as soon as the words left his lips. “Moreover, my woman here isn’t very comfortable around the both of you… yet.”“You forget that the ‘woman’ is also ours too.” Chad spat and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at him.At this point, I wanted to throw my hands into the air, wave it in their faces and remind them that I was a person not an object, and that I was right in front of them just in case they had forgotten but I decided against it. I couldn’t because I was nothing but a slave to them, a slave looking for means to escape this hell and if I must, then I had to ensure that I did nothing to spark their interest or attention. While Hades and Chad argued about claiming ownership of me, my eyes trailed to the quiet one at the back, Trent. Trent’s burly arms were folded across his chest and he had a lazy expression on his face as he watched his brothers
Hailey’s POVThe next few days flew past, literally. Fortunately, the triplets were nowhere to be seen and even though their absence made me feel a bit peaceful, I still couldn’t help but wonder what they were up to. Most of all, I was worried as to what they may have in store for me the next time we met and trust me, none of the things I could imagine were good. Today, for the first time in a long time, I went downstairs, because I was bored, to the hallway and again, I was hit with the initial shock I felt when I saw that portrait for the first time. The portrait of a younger version of me.Something like bile rose up in my throat while I stared at it and a shudder ran up my spine at the thought. What if the child was me and Hades wasn’t lying? If so, then why was a portrait of me hung here with the most gruesome scene painted as its background?I was so lost in these thoughts that I did not notice the sound of footsteps approaching me. However, when I realized, it was too late and
Hailey’s POVI stood rooted to the spot, contemplating whether I should leave or stay back like Trent had asked me to. Hades’ anger made me hesitant and truth be told, he was the only triplet I was immensely afraid of.When wouldn’t move or wouldn’t turn back to them, Savannah scoffed. I didn’t need to see her face to know that she was rolling her eyes. With her excessively fake high-pitched voice, she exclaimed; “Hades baby, please let’s go. I have no idea why your brother has taken a likeness to the slave.”The room fell deathly silent after that. It was as if her comment was the one thing that had finally broken the Camel’s back. I turned around then, just in time to see Hades pull his arm aggressively out of her hold. He stepped back, away from her, and without sparing her even the smallest glance, he drawled; “You should leave. I need to talk to my brother and the slave.”“But Hades..?”“Leave!” He bellowed and I could swear that I felt the walls shake from the intensity of his v
Hailey’s POV“You know she’s not meant to be touched,” Chad stated in a matter of fact tone as he stepped into the room, and all the while, his eyes never left my face.I dropped my head and fisted my sweaty hands into my dress and while he spoke, I tried not to pay any attention to him because my heart was beating so fast, and I was trying so hard to calm the raging organ. “Do we have to follow Hades' rules all the time?” Trent answered, sounding pissed. He opened his mouth as if to continue but before he could get the words out of his mouth, Chad beat him to it. Chad snapped;“It’s not about following rules. This is his slave… he bought her.”“And she’s my mate.”“She’s also my mate too but you don’t see me trying to jump her or do you?” Chad spat, which immediately made Trent seal his mouth shut.I couldn’t look up. I couldn’t look at any of them, especially after knowing what I would find. Trent would be looking sorry and would have regret painted all over his face and Chad, Chad
Hades’ POVIT was past midnight and I still couldn’t sleep. Now, as I stared out the window into the dark bushes that surrounded my pack house, I couldn’t help but think about my prisoner, my new slave, Hailey. It has been a routine for me since the past few days as she was all I could think of, all my brothers could think of, and while I sought for ways to help them stop obsessing over her, I realized to my own disappointment that I had also begun to obsess over her.And I hated it.My face was contorted into a frown and my arms folded over my chest as I looked out, as if expecting some miracle intervention, something, just anything that could help me out of this dilemma, but I found none. Another thing that bothered me immensely was the fact that she said she couldn’t remember a thing, she could remember nothing about her past, her parents… Hell, she said she couldn’t even remember her pack! Hailey’s POVWhat woke me up was the sound of something scratching at my door. I sat up in fright as I felt my way around the bed, then to the bedside table until I was able to get what I was looking for, the lamp’s switch, and after successfully turning it on, I glanced around the room, squinting as the golden hue casted by the lamp brightened the once dark space. But the scratching sound didn’t stop. Now, it was safe to say that I was immensely scared. My body shook as I slowly got up from bed and tiptoed towards the door. Normally, I knew that I shouldn’t even be going there. Hell, I was in a house full with people I knew nothing about, and people I was sure didn’t like me one bit, and for all I knew, this could be a ploy, a way to get me out of bed, to open this door and only God knows what next was meant to happen. These thoughts made me halt my movements and with wide eyes, I continued to stare at the thick wooden door as the scratching continued, it even began to grow louder as
Hailey’s POVIt all happened so fast. One minute I was shitting my pants, scared as Savannah pressed the blade to my neck and the next minute, she was plunging it in. I have no idea if she had intended for it to go this deep but it had and now, I was choking on my own blood with my hands wrapped around my neck, in a silly excuse to stop the blood flow.I could hear screams, angered shouts and curious questions, and from the way I was soon attacked by the scent of two utterly sweet but strong male scents, I instantly knew that Trent and Chad had joined us. Someone’s arms were wrapped around my body but I had no idea who it was, however, I was sure that it was Trent or Chad, because I was certain that it wasn’t Hades. Hades was utterly pissed, so pissed that right now, even in this state, I could see how his hands were around Savannah’s neck as he hoisted her off the floor.More shouts. ~Hades’ POV~I woke up with a start, to the sound of gunshots all around us. In a panic, I rolled out of my bunk bed, shook my two brothers awake, and waited impatiently for Chad who rubbed his eyes sleepily.“What is it, brother?” This time it was Trent who asked. I threw him a look of confusion but before I could reply, another gunshot rang through the night. This one was louder than the last and sounded so close to us. As if on cue, a loud painful cry was heard shortly afterwards. It tore through the silence, piercing my soul. Good enough, Chad stopped rubbing his eyes as he was now wide awake. His dark green orbs were as round as saucers as he stared at me and in a fierce whisper, he asked; “What was that? A gunshot? What do we do?!”I was scared. I had no answers to his questions and worst of all, I was just as clueless as he was. One of the things that bothered me the most was the fact that amidst all the chaos happening, our parents were nowhere to be found.I snapped; “let’

Hailey’s POV “What is your name?” The guy, Chad asked me while the other stood behind him with the ghost of a smile dancing across his lips. I looked up at them but said nothing. Deep down, I contemplated not answering them at all but one look at Hades had me opening my mouth immediately. I rushed out; “Hailey, my name is Hailey.” “Beautiful name, Hailey,” Chad continued and this time, both Hades and the other man scoffed in disbelief. “Brother, you never told us about a woman,” the other who had been quiet the entire time said, and while he did, his eyes never left my body even for once. “So who is she? And why does she smell like a rogue?” The way they regarded me was so disrespectful; it was almost as if they had decided that I was not in the room with them even though I was, and it made me so uncomfortable that I stepped further away from them. If it was possible, I would’ve ran back into the bathroom but I couldn’t. Knowing how unfortunate I was, they would catch me even
