CLAIRE's POV

It has been quite a while since I had seen Vera, it even spent time with her. Her presence in the palace was surprisingly scarce, and I never bothered to ask why. Since I had not seen her since, and she had not shown up to my room in a long while, I was skeptical on why she was here.

I approached the door with caution, and reluctantly swung it open. Just like I had imagined, Vera was standing there, a smile planted on her lips.

"Hey Claire, why don't we take a walk around the palace for a bit?"

I blinked at her. A walk? That sounded like what I needed right now, but sadly, I could not say yes. I shook my head at her, and lowered my gaze to the floor.

"I'm sorry, but father asked me to stay in my room and not leave."

Vera sighed and without any warning, she pulled me out of my room, and into the hallway. I let out a gasp as I looked around, realizing that I was no longer in my room. It felt like I had committed a taboo, and father would come rushing down here any minute.
