Chapter 220: Bond?

CLAIRE's POV

I sat at the large wooden table in the library of my father's palace, surrounded by stacks of books with torn pages. Each page was a sad reminder of my stepsister's cruel act of tearing them apart to get me into trouble. Diana despised me, and this was her latest attempt to make my life a misery.

I couldn't believe that my father had bought into Diana's obvious lies and punished me by giving me the daunting task of repairing all the torn books. He even let her go scott free, even though she had inflicted injuries on me.

It was then realization hit me. I was nothing to him. I thought I was important to him, seeing as I was the daughter of his first wife who he loved very much. He had gone through a lot, just to look for me, bit this is how I was treated.
