CLAIRE's POV

A welcoming party for me. That was the only thing, probing my mind all day. Bianca seemed giddy about the party, but I on the other hand was dreading it with a passion.

I did not want my arrival at the pack house to be known. I wanted to stay hidden in the main building, until I got a word from Dominik and eventually leave. This party was putting a huge burden on me.

I sighed to myself and gazed out the window. The clouds slowly drifting around in the sky left me with a feeling of wistfulness and a bit of emptiness.

“Claire!”

I jolted back and turned to my side. Luis was standing beside me, giving me a quizzical look.

“I have been calling out your name, but you seemed to be deep in thought. Did you even hear anything I said?”

I blinked at him and shook my head. I had been so lost in my thoughts, that I had forgotten Luis was standing right next to me. We were both meeting up this morning to talk about our next course of action.
