Chapter 92

Kieran's POV

Everything was ready, the portion had been made, what was left was to put it in place and that was going to happen tonight. But to the warriors and everyone else who knew about it, it wasn't happening until next week.

What happened during the full moon mustn't repeat itself. Caleb had thrown himself in front of me, knowing fully well that the effect was less severe on me. But according to him, he wanted to make sure I caught those traitors and if I'd gotten shot, it'd be hard to transport me.

My command for him to rest fell on deaf ears, as he was in my office a day later, ready to get back to work. But I actually needed his help as the only other person I could trust decided was barely himself for reasons best to him.

The door swung open and Kaia came in, her smell filled my nostrils, and a sense of ease washed over me. Her presence alone was calming, exactly what I needed at the moment.

“Luna…” Caleb called, standing up to bow to her, someth

Chapter 93 Kieran's POV As soon as I got back to the pack house where Caleb, Dylan and surprisingly Ryder were waiting for me, it was time to leave. I also mind-linked about five other warriors including Scott, who used to be Kaia's bodyguard. They were the only ones I could trust and they were also part of the people who came along when we went to the forest for the flower. I turned to Kaia whose expression had changed to that of worry. “We’ll be back before you know it.” I assured her and she nodded. "Try to stay out of trouble…no jumping in front of poison or anything." She warned, her eyes landed on Caleb who just looked away. I smiled softly that she was still able to crack jokes, even though it was one we…he needed to take seriously. The plan was simple: lay ambush on them. They knew we got something that'll work against them, so hopefully they would try to steal it, to prevent us from getting anything. “We’re ready to head out, Alpha.” Caleb called, lo

Chapter 94 Kaia's POV I woke up with warm arms wrapped around me. Lylah purred softly as I leaned more into him, the warmth radiating from his body sent my body into a state of frenzy. There was no getting used to his touch…to the way I feel whenever he was close. My body had a mind of their own, as they melted, enjoying every second. Turning my body to face him, I was met with his eyes already staring at me with so much intensity and he offered me a smile once our gaze met. “Hey,” I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper. "Hey,” he repeated, matching my tone. "I love how your body responds to my touch.” He murmured, pulling me closer and I let him. No words needed to be said again as I enjoyed the cuddling. Who knows how soon moments like this would happen again without him having to respond to one urgent mindlink or something else. Soon, I found myself dozing and the sleep was very much welcome. The next time I opened my eyes, I was alone on the bed, but

Chapter 95Unknown POV I paced around the room, my feet pounding on the floor as I went back and forth and it was the only sound that could be heard. My jaw tightened the more I thought about it and my hand was folded into a fist. “How could they be so stupid?" I muttered, my voice low and deadly. My fist was itching to run into something…particularly someone. They were going to ruin everything I've spent months planning when I was so close to fulfilling it. The past few months, I've derived pleasure in watching them suffer, going around and trying to figure who I was. Dumb fools, how was he even an Alpha? That should be me, instead, I was cast to the side like a piece of trash to be forgotten. But that wasn't going to happen, I wouldn't give up until I took what belongs to me. The door opened and the culprit entered, his legs trembling as he took slow steps towards me. I rushed to him, grabbing his neck and my hand tightened around him, lifting him until his legs wer

Chapter 96 Kaia's POV Maria remained frozen like a deer caught in the headlights, a few of my dresses in her hands and her eyes didn't leave mine. I stood there, trying to comprehend what was going on, but I couldn't go past the mess made. “What happened to my things?" I asked, moving around, trying to pick my things, especially my underwear which were laying everywhere in the room. “I-I didn't d-do it.” She stammered, "I was coming in to c-clean up but I met the mess." She explained. At this point, I could already feel anger building up inside me. Maria had always been efficient, doing everything that was asked of her, and had never given me a reason to be suspicious of her. But considering the fact that the room was locked and if I needed her to clean up, I would have given her the key or something. After having a long day, the last thing I wanted to deal with was this. “Maria," I called calmly, “you want me to believe that you somehow managed to get into my loc

Chapter 97Kieran's POV (there's a little mention of violence) The shooters weren't healing as fast as I wanted them to, so we had the pack doctor look at them and they were starting to get better. But with the break in our room, Kaia was on the edge so she was back to having a bodyguard. After her panic attack last night, I knew we had to speed up what we had to do to get to the real person behind the attacks and the shooting. “Alpha, they're ready to talk." Caleb's voice rang in my head. I was already on my way to them, so I hastened my pace. King was eager to get to them also. After watching our mate go through pain, it only fueled our determination. The three men were all kneeling with their hands tied up with ropes that had been dipped in wolfsbane. Their groaning and the sounds of whips against their skin filled the dungeon. I guess they didn't like the taste of their own medicine. "Who do you work for?” I asked. The three of them looked at each other and

I asked, resting my back as I waited for him to start talking. “I found her, but she didn't do it." He started, “she agreed that she has a grudge against Kaia…Luna but she swore that she didn't do it.” Ignoring the slip off, I frowned. "That doesn't prove that she didn't do it.” I pointed out, a feeling of disappointment seared through me. I had expected that he was coming with something concrete and not speculation. "It doesn't. But when I asked her about the fight with Maria, she went quiet.” Now, my interest was piqued as he continued, “they were arguing about a boy…” "Hold on…" I interrupted, massaging my temple gently to soothe the headache I knew was coming. “How did we go from solving a break in to boy issues?” I asked him. He chuckled lightly, “They weren't fighting because they loved the same guy, it

Chapter 99 Luna Clarissa’s POV (Kieran's mom) I was struggling to keep a calm facade, the secret I've fought so hard to keep was the same one Kieran was trying to pull apart. If he finds out, it would not only break my mate, it'd ruin me. It was a secret I swore to take to my grave. “Are you okay? Your emotions are all over the place." Tyler, my mate said, his hands wrapped around me, it was just like when we were younger. I nodded softly, “I'm okay." I lied. “It's just hard to believe that my own son would turn his back on me." That was true but all for what? A girl who should be nothing more than a slave if I was being generous. “Let's give him time, she's his mate after all…and you know how protective he is when it comes to Allie.” There was no denying their closeness, but it was for them. Everything I was doing, was for their benefit. Allie was almost twenty one and still hadn't found her mate and I was only looking out for her. "Don't think too much a

Chapter 100Kaia's POV It was still hard to believe that Maria would do something like that and when Kieran questioned her after the said boyfriend…Jake died from the poison, she broke down and admitted that he had been looking for the potion made from the iron bloom flower. She claimed that he told her that it was the last time he was going to get involved with the group and she believed him, hence the reason she was trying to cover up after him. Knowing that it wasn't that, helped keep my mind at ease even though I still had Edward following me around sometimes. He was different from the first one, and he isn't as stiff either. “Good thing Alpha got rid of her…I can't believe she would implicate Ashley for something she didn't do.” Dani said. Allie nodded, "I know right! What happened to girls supporting each other?” “She was probably absent when that was taught.” I joked and the three of us laughed. Chapter 106 Kaia's POV It took a lot of convincing for Kieran to believe that I was capable of being alone and could take care of myself. He literally followed me to the bathroom just in case I needed help there. I was enjoying it though so I let him. But when Caleb mind-linked him to tell him something about the rogue that shot Nessa and Kieran replied that he should deal with it, I sent him away. As much as I wanted him to stay by my side, he had an obligation to fulfill. Besides, the doctor assured us that there was nothing to worry about in the first few weeks. I pulled a shirt over my head as I got ready to meet the girls. I was going to tell them about my pregnancy and I was eager to see their reaction. “How do you think is the best way to tell them?” I asked Lylah, but I was met with silence. I let out a deep breath, pulling out a skirt from the closet while trying not to think about the fact that Lylah now only replies to me if it was very important. I hated

Chapter 105 Kaia's POV (From when she found out she was pregnant) “You're pregnant.” Kieran said. My hand immediately went to my stomach, “Pregnant?" I asked, my eyes widening in shock. Kieran nodded, a proud smile etched on his face as he stared at me, I could tell that he was struggling to keep his excitement in. But I couldn't share the excitement as panic gripped me, my conversation with Lylah before I insisted on healing Nessa came flooding back. “Was this why she was warning me?" I thought, “she could've told me." Noticing the frown on my face, Kieran's smile slowly vanished as he moved closer to me. “I'm sorry…” he started and my head snapped to him. What was he sorry for? "I should've been more careful…" “What are you talking about?" I asked, lifting his chin to look at me. “It's okay if you're not ready to have a baby yet…I should've asked…” Without letting him complete his words, I kissed his lips and I felt his body stiffened. Chapter 104 Dylan's POV If there was a conversation I was dreading, it was the one I was going to have in a few minutes when Allie walks through the door…it was inevitable. For me, the relationship started as a way to mess with Ryder but I couldn't say the same anymore. Although, a part of me knows that she was never mine in the first place, having seen the way that she looked at him and it was fine…he was one lucky son of a bitch. I could also see the efforts he was putting into talking to her which she ignores most of the time. The door swung open and Allie entered wearing her signature smile that was bright enough to throw any man off their feet. “Let me tell you,” She began, "if Kieran changes his mind on letting tag along to this Alphas’ event, I'm going to throw a tantrum.” I let out a chuckle, easing the tension in my chest. "You're not supposed to be there in the first place.” She rolled her eyes, "and you think I don't know that?" She asked, and I raised

Chapter 103 Unknown POV -Nessa “It's the Luna, she's the healer." I told Felix, entering the cabin we usually met in and I watched as his jaw clenched. “Kieran's mate is a healer? The white wolf?" I mean I was surprised as well, considering how long I've tried to figure out what secret they were hiding. Using the poison on myself was a risk I took but with my stepmom being unable to shut her mouth, I didn't want to delay it anymore. Felix needed to get his plan moving…and for the first time, he decided to involve me. Besides, playing the sweet innocent girl was becoming exhausting. I probably should've come up with a better excuse than not feeling well…but how was I supposed to know that she was going to snoop around looking for my house. “Because she's not the bad person.” My subconscious mind told me. So…it wasn't like I had anything against Kaia, she's nice and all, maybe too trusting. But she was the easiest and fastest way to get to Kieran and then to his p

I'm certain he was letting us go because he wanted to make up the incident with his parents and even it was needed, it was very much appreciated. Ryder sulked that he wanted to be the one to go instead of Dylan but he changed his mind when Kieran glared and the memory of the last time we went together filled my head. And he definitely wasn't going because he wanted to keep us safe or anything, Allie still hasn't given him the chance to talk. It was no surprise when a few hours into the shopping, I was tired. But Nessa was having fun so it was worth it. The gloomy expression was long gone and a permanent smile was in its stead. “Which girl gets tired of shopping? Don't you guys survive on that?" Dylan asked, a bit of teasing in his voice. I rolled my eyes, “tell that to my legs that feels like the

But a part of me was actually relaxed…it might be wrong, but I knew that nothing they said would get me to leave Kieran again. Not this time. “I really love you…” Lylah started, and I could sense a but coming. "but you can be dumb sometimes.” My jaw dropped, I didn't even have time to respond to her insult before she continued. "You're willingly walking into the den of the enemies, that's not exactly called taking caution. How do you think our mate is going to feel when he finds out you're here without your bodyguard?” I couldn't contain my shock seeing how she'd never spoken to me in this manner before. And I knew better than to ignore it. “I'm sorry, Lylah." I apologized, promising to tell him. And she just nodded but didn't say anythi
