Olivia's POV
My anxiety continued to rise as I waited in my room, my fingers trembling nervously while my heart threatened to break out of my chest. It had already been two hours since Michael, my fiance, had left the house, and he was yet to be back. Today was our wedding day, and we were supposed to drive to the church together. "Has he abandoned me? Have I really been dumped on my wedding day?" I questioned myself while I bit down furiously on my nails. No! That's not it, it can't possibly be true. He was probably held up in traffic or something, there was no way he would abandon me on our wedding day. But then again, Michael had never really said that he loved me, I wasn't even sure if he was my mate. My parents wanted to be recognized by the royal family so badly that they had given me up to the Alpha's son the moment an opportunity showed up. We had gotten engaged, and the entire kingdom already knew about our wedding. It was the biggest event of the decade, and everybody was already talking about it. Hot tears slowly trickled down my face as I tried to gather my thoughts. I wouldn't be able to stand the embarrassment of being abandoned on my wedding day. My sister had warned me that this might happen, and I had dismissed it as her being jealous. But now, reality had struck harder than I could bear. I wiped my tears, smearing mascara all over my face. I didn't care about looks anymore, all I wanted now was for someone to wake me up and tell me that all of this was a lie. "Maybe you're being paranoid," my wolf whispered, but those words didn't do much. I picked up my bag, and immediately rushed towards my sister's house. She lived across the street, and she was the only one who could possibly comfort me. I had waited one month for this moment. Even though I knew Michael didn't love me, I had faith that things would change after we got married, but it seemed that was never going to happen. I raced across the road in my wedding gown, not paying any attention to the eyes and whispers that followed as I raced across the street. I could hear my parents calling after me, but even they were too embarrassed to chase after me. Reaching her gate, I stormed in without hesitation, my vision almost blind from the amount of tears pouring down my face. Anna was the only person who could possibly understand me, she was the only person who I trusted. My parents only viewed me as an object to quick wealth, and my friends had all abandoned me after they learnt that I was getting married to the Alpha's son. I reached the door, and luckily it was unlocked. It saved me the hard work of having to knock and waiting for a response. So I barged in, only to meet the biggest shock of my life. "Yes, Mike! Fuck me harder!" Anna screamed as my fiance rammed into her over and over again. They didn't seem to notice I was standing by the door, they were both lost in themselves, and all I could do was stand and watch. "Jesus Christ! What are you doing here, Olivia?!" Michael screamed out the moment he took notice of me. He immediately jumped up from the couch and reached for his clothes almost instantly. Anna on the other hand seemed completely shocked, her eyes wide with embarrassment and regret. "Liv, I—" I raised a finger to stop her, she would only make me feel worse if I had to listen to what she had to say. Michael on the other hand didn't seem to care, if anything he was angry that I had interrupted his little moment with my sister. "What are you doing here?! You should be preparing for our wedding!" He screamed at me while he shamelessly dressed up. I glared at him with hateful eyes, my entire body boiling with rage at the sound of the words coming out of his mouth. This man had no shame, how could he even stand there and act like nothing had happened? How could he stand there and make it seem like I was the one at fault here? "Have you suddenly gone mute—" My hand swung with a crack that echoed through the entire room, silencing Michael before he had the chance to finish his sentence. Shock flickered through his eyes as he clutched his cheeks, surprised that I had actually raised my hand at him. I was usually the timid one, incapable of violence or even raising my voice. But at that moment, something had snapped in me, and I wanted nothing more than to break the man before me.. "Olivia, I can explain—" I didn't let Anna finish either, I raised my hand and without hesitation, smacked her down to the ground. Michael rushed forward, overpowering me and pinning to the wall, his eyes blazing red with fury, and his voice dripping with venom as he spoke. "You ungrateful bitch! You should be grateful that someone like me would even consider getting married to scum like you. Yet here you are acting like you matter! In fact I'm calling off this marriage, and I'll make sure that no man will ever marry you!" He glared at me, expecting me to fall to my knees and plead for mercy, but all I did was smile before pushing him off me. "You two can go to hell and burn!" I spat at his face before turning and exiting the house. I felt empty, completely devoid of emotions. It felt as though my world was at the verge of collapse, and at that moment I honestly wished everything would end. Lost in my thoughts, I walked onto the road. Distracted by everything that had just happened, I hadn't noticed the incoming vehicle. I was hit, but even then, the pain felt like nothing. "Are you hurt?!" A deep baritone voice inquired just before the tall masculine figure lifted me from where I laid on the hot ground. "I'm sorry, I should have been more careful!" He was apologizing when I had been the one to carelessly walk into the road. I turned to get a better glimpse of the face carrying me, and although my heart was heavy with weariness, there was no denying the fact that I was being held by an angel. Just then I felt a pull, a connection that we two seemed to have sensed because he had paused abruptly to take a good look at me. And before I had the chance to make sense of the sensation I had just felt, the handsome stranger had spoken the words I hadn't expected. "You're my mate?”Damian's POVI had been frustrated, angry and almost out of control. My father's call had come in as I had expected, he never failed to make me feel like a failure everyday. And while I should have gotten used to his insults by now, they never failed to spoil my day."Find your mate soon, or your brother will be the one to succeed me! You're already bringing a bad name to this family, find a mate quickly or you'll be disowned!" Those had been his words, and although I had heard those same sentences countless of times, they never failed to make me feel less of myself. It couldn't be helped though, my younger brother had already found his mate, and his wife was pregnant with an heir. Meanwhile, I had yet to find anybody who I could remotely call a girlfriend. It wasn't helping that the villagers had begun to spread rumors about me being cursed by the moon goddess to never find love. It was a ridiculous rumor, but as the years passed, and I failed to find a mate, it had become believabl
Olivia's POV I wasn't exactly surprised by the fact that this stranger was my mate. I had never felt a bond between Michael and I, our relationship had an entirely forced one, and a part of me was grateful that I had caught the real him before our wedding. My heart still felt heavy, and no matter how much I tried to shake away the feeling, I just couldn't. I had been betrayed by the only person I trusted in the entire world, and I had no idea how I was going to move on from that. "Are you alright? How are you feeling?" The stranger who had saved me inquired as his eyes carefully examined my body. I didn't reply to him, I was still confused, and my head wouldn't stop aching. "Where am I?" I asked as my eyes failed to recognize my immediate environment. "I brought you to my home. Since we're mates, I figured it's best we—" he paused, as though he didn't want to go through with the next words. I had an idea of what he had in mind, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to hear it either. He
Damian's POV I took Olivia to my father's palace the moment her wounds were fully healed. Now that I had found my mate, I finally had the courage to face him after eleven months. I could finally stand before the council members and hold my head high, and finally prove all the rumors wrong. The moon goddess hadn't cursed me, I had just been a bit unlucky. I could see the light return to my father's eyes the moment I announced that Olivia was my mate. "When do we hold the mating ritual? She's a beauty, you need to get married immediately!" He sang out excitedly, his face beaming with smiles. He wasn't the only one excited, half of the castle was filled with joy, but amongst the smiles, a few angry faces were present. "Congratulations brother, it seems your prayers have finally been heard. Now let's hope you'll be able to provide an heir." Stefan commented with a grim smile. I paid him no attention, I wasn't going to let him ruin my day. "Ignore him." I whispered to Olivia who seemed
Olivia's POV I glared at Damian with shock in my eyes, unsure if I had heard correctly, or if he was playing some sort of prank with me. Surely this man wasn't engaged to someone else, and also planned to get mated to me? He was nice and all, but I wasn't going to settle down for his second choice."Martha, this is Olivia, my mate and wife to be." Damian bragged with confidence before gently pushing the lady glued to him off his body. I felt a wave of jealousy hit me as he pulled her away. She was really something else, but I couldn't blame her, she probably didn't know that I was Damian's mate until now.."Mate? How? What about us? What about me?" Martha inquired, tears slowly gathering in her eyes. She was clearly a drama queen, and her little act had begun to pull attention towards us."I'm sorry Martha," Damian apologized calmly. He inched closer to me and took my hand in his. "The moon goddess has finally blessed me, I'm hoping she blesses you as well." Damian didn't say anythi
Olivia's POV I sat up on the bed after I heard the door creak open and close loudly. Damian had walked in, and he had in his hands a box which he dropped off on the bed. I glanced up at him, unsure of what the contents of the box was. "I bought you some clothes." He replied, as though he had read my mind. "It's just a few, I'll make arrangements for more." I grabbed the box and opened it. There were two dresses inside, and from the look of things, they were my exact size. I wanted to ask him how he got my measurements, but that would look as though I was undermining his good intentions. I didn't have any clothes here, and had to wear his clothes throughout yesterday. They weren't bad, but I needed to have my own clothes."Aren't you going to try them?" Damian inquired, and I immediately froze. I wondered if he meant for me to change right in front of him, or if he had any intentions of giving me a little privacy. We were mates, but even then I wasn't sure I was ready for him to see
Olivia's POV "Who do you think you are?" She asked in a menacing tone as she approached me. I stared at her with a confused look in my eyes. I had no idea what she meant by that question, and I was going through an internal conflict just trying to figure out what she meant. "I don't understand. Is there something I did wrong—" She cut me off with a slap to the face. Her hands circled my throat, and forcefully she pinned me to the wall. I was an omega, compared to this woman, I was nothing but a weakling. I struggled, but her grip was strong, and she was steadily squeezing air out of my lungs. "Your whole existence is wrong! You're not going to steal him away from me! Damian is mine and mine alone!" She yelled out while her grip continued to tighten every passing second. I had no idea who she was, but one thing I was sure of was that she was crazy. "I'm going to give you two options, either kill yourself or run away from here before morning. If I catch a whiff of you here
Olivia's POV Nightfall came a lot faster than I had expected. And while I was looking forward to my mating ritual, I couldn't deny the doubts and fears bubbling up deep down in my heart. Damian was a good man, but his brother and ex fiance didn't exactly like me. I was the reason that they had lost, and I could tell that neither of them wanted me to be here. The evening air was cool, but the chill did nothing for the feeling swelling up inside of me. The maids worked tirelessly, gently guiding me into the gown that had been specially prepared for the ritual. It was a deep emerald green, made of the finest silk, it clung to my figure like it was woven just for me. The neckline was modest but elegant, dipping just enough to hint at the curves beneath without revealing too much.I stared at my reflection in the mirror, and while I was proud of the work they'd done, my expression failed to convey my thoughts. I was afraid, paranoid, and couldn't help but feel that history might repeat i
Damian's POV We walked to the room that had been specially prepared for us. Tradition demanded that we consummate our marriage on the first night, but I had no intention of keeping to that tradition. I was not going to touch Olivia, not until she was ready and comfortable with me. The glow of candlelight greeted us as we walked into the room, casting a warm auburn color on everything it touched.. The air was thick with the rich scent of flowers, providing a serene atmosphere that resembled that of a garden. The bed was adorned with a cascade of delicate rose petals, their deep red contrasting beautifully with the soft, cream-colored linens. The petals formed a path from the door to the bed, as though inviting us into its softness.Tall, elegant candles were placed strategically around the room, their soft flames flickering in the low light, adding a sense of intimacy. They filled the room with a subtle fragrance—something sweet, yet with a deeper, more alluring undertone. The heavy
