"No, he passed away a month ago," I explained to her, sadly. Proudness overtook my emotions and I didn't allow my voice to crack at the thought of how much I missed him.

"I'm so sorry, Isabella. The same thing happened to me a couple of months ago after I came here, my sister passed away from cancer. My father was never in my life; he left when I was two, and my mother was a drug addict. She tried her best, though. I could see it in her eyes when she tried to cook or clean or walk us to school, but drug addiction was a disease that she couldn't fight," she explained.

My entire heart sank at her story. It made me realize how much everyone is hurting all around everyone has a certain ache.
