CHAPTER 2

Aura’s pov

The night has passed but there was no shine of the ray in the cell the new pack kept me as a prisoner. No one actually knows what time it is or what day except the shifts of the guard wolves that remind me it’s day and now it’s night.

The pungent smell was strongly lingered in the dungeons, they haven’t cleaned this place since ages. But why do they bother? At least they can command the prisoners to clean the place.

This thing proved that the Alpha and other strong wolves don’t care a fuck about rouges and unfamiliar wolves. We serve no purpose except as a slave. To be honest, i think being a slave is better than rotting here.

After noticing several shifts of the guards, i have been here for three days but no one has come down to see me like i don’t even exist. Once in a morning and once in a night, the feeding she wolves passed a plate of food to us and left later.

What kind of a life is this? I was better in my previous pack. Though, I was invisible to them as well but I had an existence to them, even as an omega. I worked for them. They knew I was there but now, everything is vanished. My pack is slaughtered and I am the only one left.

Why did the Alpha spared me?

There was a loud noise of the door of the cell getting opened and I got alert. From my golden eyes, I watched the fear surfacing over my senses.

The big bad Alpha and his companions were standing in front of me. Suddenly, I forgot to breathe even. This was the first time I saw Alpha’s face closely. He was undeniably gorgeous and handsome but the darkness on his face is terrifying like he can eat me whole.

“Get up!” his beta commanded.

I got up without questioning, they spared me once but i will not be lucky every time.

“You're probably wondering why I chose to keep you alive?” The Alpha asked.

I kept my head low and did not dare to look up. I nodded slightly in agreement.

“Well, I, Alpha Keiser, i like to keep a trophy for myself from every pack i slaughter.” he stated.

I gulped down the lump formed in my throat. The cell was so quiet that even a single heartbeat can be heard loudly out from my chest.

“So, I want you to prove your potential to my pack, to live like an omega even. If you pass the test, I will let you stay in my pack or if you fail, then the consequences will be bad.” he added.

“Anything you want to ask?” the beta asked me.

“What do I have to do to prove my potential?” I asked in a whispery voice.

“You are going to fight with the strongest she-wolf of my pack.” he said.

I haven’t shifted into my wolf yet and it will be difficult to fight with the strongest she wolf. Is this Alpha out of his mind? He must know that i am still a learner.

“Well, it’s done! She doesn't have any other doubt to ask. Prepare her for the fight.” the Alpha instructed someone and left.

A she-wolf left behind, I guess she is an omega.

“I haven’t shifted yet, how will i fight?” I asked her.

She gasped and scolded, “why the hell didn’t you tell this to the Alpha! Anyway, it doesn’t matter, you fight or don’t, you are going to be executed either way.” 

My eyes widened in horror. This Alpha is crazy and he can go deep down to get his way.

I was helpless and cried for hours until the same wolf came back to me. She was here to take me out for the fight. My days were limited in this pack but they will end this oon, I never thought about it ever.

Having no other option, I got up and followed her out of the dungeons. The bright sunlight blinded me almost. My eyes were sensitive to the light because they kept me in the dark.

I was looking like a drag but it doesn’t matter. The place was huge and twice as big as my previous pack. Where I was heading to was a mystery until I was standing against a locked door. The she wolf pushed me inside like I was some dirty rag for her.

“Do i have to take a bath?” I asked her curiously to her.

“No! Why? You are going to die anyway.” she was rude.

The beat arrived and asked me to follow him to the arena. I was scared and terrified but I was hollow when I saw the crowd. There were way too many wolves waiting for the fight to begin.

I wanted to dig my head in the mud to avoid those eyes. It was too late and the wolf who was going to fight with me stood a few metres away from me. She was well built and trained. 

Her gaze constricted and became hard when she observed me from head to toe. We were standing a few inches away from each other. There was a smug on her face which clearly indicates that she will hurt me to the core.

“Now, fight!” The referee commanded and the she-wolf jumped on me.

I feel and my back hurts. I cried in pain but she did not give me another chance to breathe as she punched on my face, breaking my nose. The blood oozed from my broken nose and I couldn't breathe properly.

The crowd was cheering for her and they were enjoying the little show. Less they know that this is a fight for life and I am losing it already. 

She was fast and I was ill trained wolf who can’t even defend herself. Not my fault that my previous pack did not let me train with other wolves of my age. I was busy in chores while everyone went for training.

Than a hard blow on my head and i convulsed. Everything appears blurry and I can't figure out anything in front of my eyes. She punched my right eye and I lost control over my body.

“A pup can fight better than her! Is that what you got for me, Alpha?” she asked Alpha.

Her words were clear to me. I can hear everyone laughing and hooting on me. It was a pity on me from being a useless wolf.

I wished to be better but it will be good if i die today. That's what I thought when something appeared in front of my eyes. My head will explode anytime but the image of a wolf appeared. 

I felt an immersed pain in my body and the cracks clearly indicated my bones getting deformed. They were arranging into something and that's when I realised that I am shifting into a wolf.
