SEVENTY-FIVE

I moved without second thoughts, unable to hold my raving beast back. My fingers curled around Heather’s neck, and I flung her against the opposite wall in a flash. Her back hit the wall, creating a large dent. Little pieces of cement fell to the floor as her body slid to the floor. Silence followed. I stopped then, only realising what I’d just done. Not sure how in the name of moon goddess I possessed so much strength to lift a lycan by the neck, but my beast wanted me to beat the living daylights out of her.

“Please, Draven, what is this?” Abigail shrieked. I turned then and noticed she was held by two warriors under Draven’s instructions. They already had her in handcuffs, but everyone’s eyes were now on me.

“Get her out of my sight,” Draven ordered in a low tone, and without hesitating, Abigail was carted away and her screams resounding in the hallway. Heather had gotten back to her feet but was still staggering to get her composure while I glared at her, and then at Draven.
