Aurora

Once, a sorceress looked at me and said, "You, parentless child, will one day become the greatest Luna queen ever. Never give up. Wait until you meet your Alpha, and your legend will begin. Don't worry; he will love you with all his heart. Remember, he will come to you, seeking you out. Just patiently wait, for his destiny is to become the greatest Alpha king ever."

Yet, she died and I was still waiting..

“You lowly Omega!” She yelled to me.

‘It is really painful, hard to breathe, my organs inside my stomach feel like they're throwing up.’

Kneeling on the dirty floor of the dark valley, I locked eyes with Bianca, the Luna of our community, the most beautiful princess from the wealthy beta family, and a local model. “Why did you kick me?”

“You lowly Omega, how dare you seduce my Alpha?” She was angry and kicked me again. This time she kicked my chest, and I felt my ribcage truly hurt, maybe broken. “You parentless bitch!”

“I never seduced Alpha Nathan.” I tried to speak between my painful breathing.

“Then why does he keep asking me about you?”

“I don't know!” I was being honest. “He just asked me to help the community's children.”

Bianca raised her leg and kicked me in the face, causing me to fall to the floor. “Consider this a warning; next time I find out about you, I will really kill you.”

'Damn, I've never even been on a date yet, and I'm already getting hit.' I relaxed my body on the cold, dirty floor, as it helped calm the pain in my body, ribs, and head. 'Am I really a lowly omega? Who was my real father?'

'Who will be my mate?' Warm tears fell to my cheek, the pain and sadness filling my heart. ‘It's so lonely.’

In the heart of Switzerland's Zermatt, a red helicopter gently descended from the azure sky, stirring the snow beneath it into a dance of dust-like snowflakes. Renowned for its breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, one of the most iconic peaks in the Swiss Alps, Zermatt blended luxury lodging, world-class skiing, exquisite dining, and exclusive shopping into a singular experience.

At the Zermatt Peak chalet, despite the chilly weather, twenty staff members and a manager gathered at the front entrance of the Zermatt Peak chalet, all eyes fixed on the approaching helicopter.

"Who's coming in?" inquired a new staff member at the chalet.

"The last VIP guest," a chef replied while trying to shield himself from the helicopter's wind, which made his whole body even colder.

"Can you imagine? One family booked the entire Zermatt Peak, a 5-star luxury chalet, exclusively for themselves for a week — just six of them," another staff member commented, his tone tinged with envy.

"Wow, that's some serious wealth to spend so lavishly," another staff member added, his expression a mixture of awe and aspiration, while his teeth chattered due to the cold.

"They paid a whopping $300,000 in cash for their week-long stay," the male manager informed, his expression serious. "I expect nothing but impeccable service from everyone. Mistakes are not an option."

If there were any mistakes, it wasn't just his job at stake, but also his life. They were from the most dangerous family in the world, controlling the underworld. Now, inside the helicopter was their CEO, a young leader known as the worst of the worst, called as the dark king.

A chorus of "Yes" echoed from the twenty staff members, all eagerly anticipating the arrival of their elite guests. The chalet, reserved for merely six guests, was bustling with about total of 40 staff members.

‘What could possibly go awry in such a well-prepared setting?’

As the helicopter touched down, a strikingly handsome man with a perfect physique, dressed in an expensive business suit, emerged. His attire seemed out of place in the chilly environment. He quickly made his way into the chalet and approached the manager with a deep, charming voice. “I had to come here directly from my office and completely forgot my winter gear. Do you have any I could purchase, or could you help me find some?”

"Certainly," the manager replied with enthusiasm. "First, please enjoy a complimentary welcome drink. I'll take care of arranging your clothes right away."

A new waitress, the most beautiful among all the waiters, clad in the crisp white and black uniform, was assigned a single task: to offer the welcome drink to the final guest. As she approached, her gaze fixed on the striking features of the handsome man, an alluring scent emanated from him. Mesmerized by the aroma, she inadvertently let the glass slip, causing the warm drink to spill onto the man's attire.

A heavy silence enveloped the room, broken only by the sound of breaking glass. The faces of the twenty staff members grew pale as they realized that the worst had just occurred before their eyes.

Alex

‘The girl had just spilled something like lemon fruit juice on my clothes. Well, at least it warmed my body.’

I glanced around, and a collective gasp came from the waiters. The pretty girl's face drained of color. The manager, whose face was more pale than angry, was quick to react. He reprimanded her with a loud voice, "You had just one task today, and you couldn't manage it. Please leave the area at once!" I can smell fear emanating from his body.

‘Clearly, he wanted to blame everything on the girl and didn't want to bear any mistake himself.’

The girl appeared pale and quivering, like a frightened mouse. Her body was shaking a lot, and I thought she might faint at any moment.

'Come on, did I kill people just because of a small mistake? Why do they need to be this dramatic? Am I still human, right? Or am I not?'

"Ah, there's no need to panic just because of a little spill on clothes," I said, moving a bit closer and gently placing my hand on her shoulder. She was much smaller than me, and I sought to soothe her nerves. "Manager, there's no need to dismiss her. It's just a splash on clothes that needed washing anyway. It was an honest mistake. Could she possibly assist my family during our stay?"

Seizing the opportunity to amend the situation, the manager, with a forced but broad smile, agreed, "Absolutely, no problem at all."

"Now," I turned to the girl, "would you mind showing me to my room? I need to freshen up."

"Yes, of course," she responded promptly.

As we walked through the dimly lit hall, scented with the perfume of flowers, I noticed her body still trembling. It made me feel that, as a gentleman, I must offer comfort. "I'm Alex. Don't worry about what just happened."

"Really?" she inquired, her voice tinged with lingering anxiety.

"I used to be a waiter myself," I shared, trying to smile warmly and reassuringly. "We're all human, and to err is human. And since you're beautiful, I tend to be more forgiving towards beautiful girls."

I winked at her, confident that no one ever refuses praise.

The girl's face turned red, and feeling slightly reassured, she nodded in gratitude. "Thank you," she said. She led me to a beautiful room, I noticed her smooth and beautiful neck from behind as she led the way. She gracefully turning on the fireplace. After ensuring everything was correct, she politely waited for permission to leave as I began to remove my clothes.

"Excuse me,” I inquired with a deep gaze, “but may I ask what caused you to drop the glass? Is there something about me that prompted your mishap?"

'I think she got shocked being near me, I just want to check my hunch.'

The girl, with a hint of shyness, replied, "I possess an exceptional sense of smell, able to detect scents from afar – that's my unique ability. Respectfully, sir, you emanate an enticing, captivating fragrance. It smells like..." She gradually moved closer to me, inhaling deeply of my body scent. Her cheeks flushed, and as if in a trance, she slowly removed her clothes and hugged me. "Sir, I am offering myself to you. Please, hold me. I am still a virgin and am willing to give you all of myself."

My face turned in confusion; this was surely not the first time something like this had happened to me. But as an adult, I couldn't help thinking, are they hiding a camera to sue me later? Blackmail me?

***

At night.

I sat in a comfortable nook on a couch beside Roberto, an elderly gentleman. The distant sound of crackling fireplaces filled the dimly lit room, and the scent of the finest red wine permeated the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

We were nestled in a cozy room with a view through the glass window and roof. The full moon bathed the iconic Matterhorn in its glow, presenting a breathtaking scene against the night sky.

"How long has it been since we last sat together like this?" He mused, cradling a glass of fine red wine, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.

"Three years ago," I replied, holding my own wine glass. "Back when we celebrated the president's election victory."

‘Which used our money for his campaign.’

"Ah, yes, I remember," the old man exhaled softly. "Time flies. Ever since I named you CEO, you've been swamped, hardly any time to visit this old friend."

"The company required a significant overhaul, Roberto. You know that well."

‘Too many corruptors and spies needed to be cleaned.’

"And how are things now?"

My grin reflected a deep sense of contentment. "Our operations are so clean that even the CIA, with their top agent on our case for years, hasn't uncovered a thing. I've strategically invested some of our funds in promising startups, and they're flourishing. It won't be long before we're completely out of these risky waters."

‘I am tired of living in that dark world.’

Robert chuckled with genuine delight. "Finding you has been one of the highlights of my life. How long has it been?"

"Fifteen years," I replied.

"Has it been that long already?" Robert's laughter grew. "Fifteen years since that audacious kid tried to steal from me, and then boldly asked for a job when caught. You were, and still are, something else, Alex. I wasn't mistaken in recognizing your potential. You're sharp, through and through."

"I had to be; it's a harsh world," I replied. "You told me that you would kill me with your bare hands if I couldn't show my potential to you."

"Really? Did I say that?" Robert asked, smiling warmly.

"Robert, you've been a great mentor to me," I began, reflecting on my life before and after meeting Robert, unsure which period was more challenging. Being hungry all the time because I was an orphan and sewer rat or being a hitman for the Mafia and always living under the barrage of bullets. "But why the urgent summons? I assumed you were in some serious trouble, which made me rush over."

"Yes, arriving straight from the office in your business suit," Robert noted, setting his glass aside with a grave tone. "You've shielded me from harm many times, even taking bullets with your body. After thoroughly checking your background, I've begun to wonder if you're even human. Who are you, Alex?"

Setting down his glass, I met Robert's intense gaze. "I'm a werewolf, remember? The rouge alpha," I said with a straight face.

Robert chuckled. "Then I must be the king of werewolves," he laughed heartily. "How can you keep such a straight face with jokes like that, Alex? You do have a sense of humor after all."

"Anything to make you happy, Robert," I joined in the laughter and took a sip of the red wine. It was sweet, bitter, and warm as it flowed down my throat.

Shifting to a serious tone, Robert proposed, "I want you to marry my daughter. What's your take on that?"

"Robert, it will be your loss. You know my background. I'm an orphan, a nobody. Your daughter, she's affluent, beautiful. Wouldn't it be a loss for you to match her with someone like me?"

Robert's expression grew solemn. "She's always stirring up trouble. I can only rest easy if she's with you. I've seen how you look after your people, Alex. You're a protector. Most men after my daughter are just after her fortune, nothing but sweet-talkers." His eyes clouded with sadness. "Since her mother passed, she's all I've got. Agree to marry her, and I'll hand over all my shares. Just promise to always look out for her."

I sighed, "I don't need your shares, Robert. I've got enough on my own. But if you want me to take her hand, you must agree for both of us to step away from the business. I can't ensure her safety while we're still in this industry. I care about what belongs to me, Robert, you know that."

"But you've been exceptional in our business," Robert said with a tinge of regret.

"I may be good at it, but that doesn't mean I want to stay," I responded, my gaze fixed on the moonlit night. "I am tired, Robert. We don't have to depend on the company anymore, as in the old days; now our wealth is greater than you might imagine. She is important to you, and I don't want her to be in danger under my protection. Think again. I won't accept no on this."

Robert furrowed his brow, releasing a heavy sigh, then picked up his smartphone to make a call. "Come here."

Moments later, a pretty young woman adorned in luxurious brands and sparkling jewels entered the room. I could smell her expensive perfume. "What's up, Dad?"

"I've decided to let you marry Alex. He'll take good care of you. And regarding the company, we'll proceed as we discussed earlier today," Roberto announced. "We're stepping away from it."

In a fit of anger, the young woman hurled her expansive hand bag at her father, but I swiftly caught it mid-air.

‘She still has her old temper.’

"Young Miss, such behavior isn't appropriate towards your father," I gently chided.

The girl's expression turned to fury. "Always Alex! Everything goes to Alex! I'm your daughter, Dad! Why does he get everything? What about me? I need the company. It's mine!"

"Alex and I have agreed; the company poses risks you shouldn't face," Roberto tried to explain. "You're better off away from it. Alex has investments in other ventures."

"It's always about Alex! What about what I deserve?" The young woman screamed.

"Rebecca! It's for the best," Roberto implored.

Tears welled up in Rebecca's eyes. "You never loved me, Dad. Not once."

As Roberto rose, intending to embrace his daughter, a gunshot suddenly rang out, causing the room's glass to quiver. In an instant, I lunged in front of Roberto, shielding him. Missed a step.

The gun, in Rebecca's hand, was pointed at the shocked face of Roberto.

"Daniel is right. It's better for you two to die here," she yelled at the top of her lungs. "I will run the company with him!"

The gunfire erupted, its loud report piercing the silence of the night and startling the staff. The sound echoed off the mountains, shattering the stillness.

"Are you genuinely asking, or just trying to provoke something?" Luke asked, his tone light yet challenging, seemingly unfazed by Ethan and his 11-member gang, all armed to the teeth. Ethan scowled and banged on the car with an air of arrogance, then stepped back, signaling for Lucas to get out. "I don't like your attitude. Out of the car, now!" Luke, unfastening his seatbelt, prepared to confront Ethan. "You're going to wish you hadn't done that, kid." "Stay in the car," I urged Luke, stepping out myself and weaving through the daunting, intimidating gang members who had a distinct odor of sweat about them to reach Ethan. He started walking away, but noticing I wasn't following, he glanced back at me and asked, "Are you coming with me?" "I have to talk with Nathan. Please go on," I responded, apologizing, "Sorry." The brutal confrontation between Dave and me under the dim moonlight was a storm of intense emotion and raw power. Dave, though not as strong, fought with the strategic acumen and precision of a seasoned veteran. His claws and fangs moved in a deadly dance, each strike aimed with lethal intent. His eyes were alight with fiery determination, muscles flexing in sync with the battle's rhythm. Dave managed to inflict several wounds on me, spilling my blood onto the road, exposing torn muscle and flesh. I could understand; he was driven by a fierce need to protect his daughter and uphold his family's honor. But I also needed to defend my authority. I, the Alpha, exhibited formidable, untamed strength. Larger in size, I wrestled with my restraint, striving not to deliver a fatal blow to him. This hesitation made my movements less precise. My goal wasn't to kill Dave, but merely to incapacitate him. Growls and roars echoed with each clash. The asphalt below was marred with bloodstains. Th

She moved around the battlefield, her movements deliberate yet frail, as she scattered a fine, shimmering dust from the pouch over the rampaging werewolf. The dust, a concoction of 25 rare herbs and a very expensive material called "stardust," worked as a slow-acting sedative, designed to soothe the beast's wild frenzy. I looked at the baby he was so cute, but I know I had to act. I dressed him in new clothes and wrote the prophecy about his future role in saving the world on the cloth. He was destined to return here, to build a dome for humanity and fulfill his fate—perhaps he had already completed his mission. I donned the wrist device and fashioned a smaller one for the baby, so we could travel through time together. But first, I had to ensure that the future would be free of problems. The spheres were set to manage the environment, programmed to halt their work when CO2 levels reached 0.04%. As for who would rule in the future, I chose not to decide. The people must learn to govern themselves; some were already training to use the spheres. I couldn't always be their deity; they needed to become self-sufficient. With the baby in tow, I prepared to leave this era, knowing I would never return; it wasn't my place. Together, we activated the high-frequency drive, propelling us into the fourth

It was clear then that the baby wasn’t me.All I can do was waiting. In the five years since I came here, we constructed 76,910 domes worldwide, sheltering 500 million survivors from the once 8 billion-strong human population. The disparity was stark: some domes teemed with life, while others stood empty, their ecosystems meticulously engineered and automated, home only to selected wildlife. The advent of virtual exploration allowed people to survey these domes remotely, relocating if they f

"Show me where my parents are," I commanded the sphere with excitement. After long years, I was about to meet my long-lost parents. The sphere generated a screen for me to view, revealing a young man and woman, perhaps around 20 years old, entering the Eden Dome for the first time. They appeared bewildered and lost, their eyes wide with a mix of fear and wonder."Are you sure they are my parents?" I questioned, my brow furrowed in doubt. They were even younger than me. It felt odd, almost as if I should call them little brother and sister instead of parents."Yes, Master," the sphere responded affirmatively. "Your genetic DNA matches theirs perfectly.""But," I hesitated, scrutinizing the image, my heart pounding with a strange apprehension. "Send one sphere to them; I need to ask them something."The distance seemed vast, with our dome situated half a world away, creating a chasm between us."As you wish, Master."A sphere glided toward the man and woman in the distant dome.
