Flora's POV
The ballroom fell silent, dozens of shocked eyes on me, until whispers broke the stillness.
“How can she be Alpha Joshua’s daughter?”
“Look at her—dressed like a waitress!”“She must be being punished.”A group of women nearby gave me disgusted looks, their voices loud enough for me to hear.
“Punishment? After what she did? She deserves it.”
Their words stabbed at me, but what hurt more was my father’s reaction—or lack of it. He stood among the guests, saying nothing as they insulted me. His expression was hard and cold, as if I were a stranger instead of his daughter.
I turned my gaze to Zack, silently begging him to step forward, to defend me. But he only stood there, his arm draped casually around Alora, as if I didn’t exist.
Was this the same man who had once promised to love and protect me forever? How could someone change so completely in just a few days?
From the corner of the room, the pack’s omegas, who had jeered at me earlier, raised their voices again.
“She deserves the punishment.”
“She was always like this—characterless.”My fists clenched as anger surged through me. I pointed at them, my voice sharp and trembling.
“What gives you the audacity to speak about me like that? What have I ever done to any of you?”
One of them sneered, her tone mocking. “You’re lucky the alpha chose to adopt you. If you were born into a middle-class family, they would’ve abandoned you long ago. You’ve ruined his reputation.”
Their words struck me like blows, but I refused to let them see how much they hurt. Taking a deep breath, I straightened my spine and spoke, my voice steady and clear. “Everything you’ve heard is a lie, all part of a plot to bring me down.”
The crowd shifted uneasily, some of them glancing at each other in confusion. My words—and the conviction in my voice—seemed to make them hesitate. For a moment, I thought I might finally have a chance to defend myself.
Then, a waiter stepped forward, holding a tray of drinks. “I have evidence that she’s lying,” he announced loudly.
All eyes turned to him, and my heart sank. As he handed the tray to another waitress, I realized he was the bartender from that night.
“You!” I hissed, my fists clenching in anger.
Ignoring me, he pulled his phone from his pocket and held it up for everyone to see. “Look at this photo,” he said.
The screen displayed a photo of me leaving the hotel with the masked stranger. The angle made it look as if we were close, too close.
Gasps rippled through the crowd, followed by murmurs of judgment and disdain.
I froze, realizing too late that I had been set up again. This was Alora’s doing—there was no doubt in my mind. She had orchestrated everything, from the room card to this humiliating “proof.”
Zack growled, his face twisted with anger. “You lied when the truth was staring us in the face,” he spat, his voice dripping with contempt.
“It’s not what it looks lik—”
“Shut up!” he said, his harsh words shattering what little hope I had left.
I turned to the crowd, trying desperately to explain. “This isn’t what it seems!”
No one listened. Their judgmental stares closed in on me, their whispers growing louder.
The crowd surged forward, pushing me toward the door.
I stumbled, barely able to keep my balance as someone shoved me. My knees buckled, and I braced for the impact of the cold, hard floor. But strong arms wrapped around my waist, steadying me before I could fall.
The scent that surrounded me was intoxicating, familiar in a way I couldn’t explain. I looked up, startled, to see the same man from the hotel room once again. Tall and imposing, his grip held me, firm yet gentle, as he helped me stand upright. My heart raced as I met his piercing eyes.
Why was he here? And why was he helping me again?
Before I could speak, Alora’s voice cut through the air. “Look at her,” she said with a sarcastic grin. “There are so many men around my sister.” Her words were sharp, designed to humiliate me further.
The man beside me turned his glare on her, his eyes blazing with fury. “What did you say?” he demanded, his voice low and dangerous.
Alora faltered, clearly taken aback by the force of his presence. Even my father seemed unnerved. His face paled, and he murmured something under his breath as he stared at the man.
“Who is he?” Alora asked, her voice trembling as she addressed my father. “Did we invite him?”
I was surprised to find my father Alpha Joshua’s eyes widened, panic flickering across his face.
Before he could respond, a soldier in a royal uniform stepped forward. “King Aron,” the soldier said, bowing deeply. “I’ve been looking for you.”
Flora's POV King Aron? The most powerful, crucial Alpha King, Aron Elliott? I froze in my place. My entire body was covered in goosebumps. I could not even move my head to look at him because I was so shocked. I could not dare to do that. When I first met him, he was nothing more than a handsome stranger who had helped me. But after learning that he was the Alpha King Aron, my inner self shook. All the people in the ballroom were shocked as well. As quickly as they could, they made a slight bow to the king, not knowing whether or not they had offended him. Some of them knew the king as they had met him in business meetings. But with the exception of those selective people, nobody was aware of his identity. The soldier was still bowing his head, waiting for his king to order him to raise. The king looked at the soldier and gestured to him with his hand to raise. The man stood straight and said, "Apology for being late, your majesty." King Aron gave him a careless no
My wolf’s senses were sharper than most. My hearing was exceptional, and my instincts were finely tuned, as if I could feel the slightest shift in the air around me. As I moved silently through the shadows, I heard the faintest rustle behind me.A chill swept over me. Someone was approaching. I guessed they were sent by Alora.Without hesitation, I spun around just in time to see two figures emerge from the darkness, their hands raised, ready to strike. Before they could even react, I was on them. I moved with the precision of a predator—swift, lethal. They froze, caught off guard by my speed. They had underestimated me, thinking they could overpower a lone woman. But I was no ordinary woman, and certainly no ordinary wolf. I could hear their breathing, feel their movements before they even made them. They lunged at me, hands outstretched, trying to seize my neck, but I was already gone—too quick, too elusive. One of them made a desperate attempt, throwing a punch directly at my face.
Third POVThe king's eyes scrutinized the two men. The guards kicked them, causing them to come to their knees and fall to the ground. With a sharp look, Flora cast a glance in the direction of the two men. The two men dropped their heads in front of the king because they were so terrified of him.It was clear from their expressions that they had never expected to be caught so easily."Assassins or spies?" the king muttered. The two men lowered their heads more and began to cry."Forgive us, Your Majesty!"Flora scoffed at the men and turned her head back to the king. With a low tone, she said,"They could be the accomplices who took the pictures of us at the hotel at the time."Her words made the king raise his brow. He shifted his gaze back to her, giving her his full attention."You are right," he let out a chuckle. His eyes were shadowy and mysterious. Flora could not help but try to look deeper into them, feeling lost inside. The darkness was so deep that there was no turning bac
Flora's POVI could see the beta was taken aback. He might have thought I was Alora, who was roaming around the hall with the title of Alpha's real daughter. But I was not her; I was the Alpha's adopted daughter who had unexpectedly become the thorn in his eye.I felt a weight in my chest just thinking about my father's actions toward me."Well, okay," Beta Joy muttered.I turned my attention to the king. He was silently observing me. His gaze on me was giving me strange vibes. They were not bad, but they were not particularly good for me.I cleared my throat and asked,"Your Majesty, can I leave?"Instead of him, Beta Joy replied,"Leave? Why are you leaving? Aren't you the one who was captured in the photos with my king?"It made me feel embarrassed. That night, because of me, he got involved in this.I now understand why he put on a mask that night. It was because he was not any ordinary man but the king himself! What would happen if he had no mask on? I would have been ruined to t
The moment I heard my father's response, a wave of pain swept through my chest. Did he just say that he truly felt regret about adopting me?Where would I go and share my pain? The burden was too much to bear. I lowered my head and closed my eyes.Tears streamed down my cheeks, landing on the white crystal floor."I wish I had not adopted you, Flora. Maybe my reputation would not have been ruined today."I tightened my fists on my dress which was the uniform of a waitress. I did not know where my life was taking me.Never in my darkest dreams had I imagined my father saying such a thing. I had just asked that in an emotional state, but he meant what he said."Now why are you standing? Because of you, Alora got sick. Go to your room and don't come out. I don't want to see your face, you are grounded for a week."I heard my father's chilly tone. He sounded furious as if he were not the man who used to tell me how much he loved me.Did I do something so bad that he started treating me li
I was completely taken aback. Did Zack come here to know if I said something to King Aron? The reality hit me again when I realized that Zack did not care for me but for my sister. That was the reason he came here. His arrival in my room was not to check on me but to get information from me.I let out a chuckle when I felt betrayed once again.Zack looked at me with a confused face."Have you gone insane? What makes you laugh?"Despite the fact that the fever had left my jaw numb, I laughed. Even though my headache was the worst I could bear, I shook my head."I can't believe you came here to ask me about that Alora?"Zack's confused look turned into anger. He gave me a scowl and inquired,"Just tell me if you say something to him that you shouldn't have. He is the King. We can't afford to offend him."My sleepy gaze was fixed on him. I could not help but laugh again at what he said."You seem afraid of the king."His expression darkened. Giving me a piercing look, he said,"Afraid of
Zack's POVI stormed out of Flora's room, furious. I thought she was easygoing because she had never talked to me like this before. However, with each passing day, she became a more disrespectful woman.I had no idea how she had transformed into this. I always thought she was a polite and dignified woman. Until one day, I realized how wrong I was. She was actually deceiving me.My blood was boiling just thinking about the videos and photos I had seen that night. I was so angry with her that I wanted to punish her severely. She deserved the treatment she was getting right now.How could she sleep with that masked man while I was busy working for her father's pack company?Turning left, which led me to my bedroom, I walked toward the door.I was angry with her because, instead of pleading for forgiveness, she accused me of cheating on her!How could she even do that? When exactly did I cheat on her?Never! As I walked into the bedroom, I noticed Alora sitting on the bed, using her cell
Flora's POVMy eyes swelled up as I blinked and looked around the room. I slowly sat up and let out a yawn.I checked my temperature and discovered that the fever had not subsided. I realized I had not taken any medication last night.I got out of bed and thought about going to the bathroom to wash up.In the middle of the way, I felt something piercing my feet. I hissed out in pain.I lowered my head to look at my feet. Blood was coming out of my feet. A sharp diamond pierced my bare feet.I shifted my gaze to the floor, noticing the broken necklace. The reflection of what had happened last night came to my mind. I recalled how Zack left the room after shattering the necklace that used to be close to my heart.I tried to return it to him, but he crushed it under his feet, reminding me that I was nothing in his eyes. That proposal meant nothing to him, and all of our memories were meaningless. With the pain in my feet, I moved back to the bed. Sitting on it, I lifted my feet and tried
I turned my attention to the kettle. I waited for the tea to boil perfectly because my father preferred dark liquor.I turned the stove off and poured two cups of tea.I did not want to go into Alora's room. So when I left the kitchen, I began looking for other maids. To my surprise, there were no maids there.'Okay, so I will go put the cup somewhere and then rush out. I don't want to talk to the woman who wanted me to leave this house,' I told myself and headed to the way where her bedroom and my father's study room were.I had no intention of fighting today. I just wanted my father's love back. I wanted my life to be one in which my father would not look back and say that he regretted adopting me.As I made my way to Alora's bedroom, I thought about the previous evening. I felt like every day was turning into hell.I came to a stop outside Alora's door. I reached up to knock on the door, but when I heard Alora's voice, my hand froze."Zack"Was Zack inside? I was surprised to find
The guard gave me an odd expression. He gave a sigh and muttered on his phone,“Yes, Alpha. Alright, Alpha. I am going to send her inside.”He glanced at the phone as if my father had already disconnected the call. He shifted his gaze to me and shook his head."Your dad is mad at you. Why are you doing this? Why can't you just be inside the house?"I stared at him with a dumbfounded look. He was a familiar guard who always bowed to me when I went to or entered the pack house. Now he was lying to my father about me and pretending to be a nice guy."I can not believe it," I said to him, yanking away the other guard's hand.I was defeated. There was no way for me to win. With a defeated look, I turned to the front door of the pack house and went back inside. The maid who had tried to stop me earlier gave me a mocking grin. It seemed as if she was saying,"I told you that you can not leave the house."I was angry at my own father for doing this to me. I went to my bedroom, losing myself.
I returned to my room in a sulky mood. I did not understand why no one could see how evil Alora was. She lied so naturally that anyone could fall for it.But one thing that was bothering me was the warning she had given me. What did she mean by kicking me out of the house? It was a pack house, and I, the Alpha's daughter, whether I was an adopted or biological child, should stay with my family here. Why would my dad kick me out of the house? And who was Zack to kick me out?To me, he was nothing. Not after everything he had done over the past few days. He not only supported Alora instead of me, but he also cheated on me.If I let go of his cheating that I had seen in the video, what about the things he was doing right now? He decided to marry the sister of his ex-girlfriend.How shameless!Late at night, my best friend, Kayla, called me as she was worried for me. I told her that the video had nothing but humiliation for me.She was upset and asked for forgiveness for being unable to a
I touched my cheek with wide eyes. I did not dare to turn my head to face my father. I was shocked when I heard that Alora was not in any clips in the video. But how? That evening, the bartender told her that Alora had given him the room card. So how could she not be in the video?"Dad, please calm down. Maybe Sister misunderstood me."Like a thorn, Alora's voice pierced my ear too deeply for me to continue listening to. I looked in her direction.I was so angry that I wanted to return my father's slap by slapping her cheek. She pretended that she was a forgiving person as she tried to persuade my father to forgive me."Please, forgive her, Dad. Let it go."My father shook his head, glaring at me. "You are so kind, my daughter. But this woman..."He pointed his finger at my nose while growling at me."She turned out to be a snake. I had spent years raising a snake. She came to bite me, reminding me that I should not have brought her home in the first place."My heart felt broken and s
Zack narrowed his eyes as he looked at me. I could tell he was not pleased. Was it because I was going to expose his lovely Alora in front of my father? Was he aware of everything?I snorted in my head, thinking that this man was really careless about everything. Instead of finding out the truth, he supported a woman who came to ruin our lives. I knew she was the true heir to this pack. It was not like I wanted to rule this pack or attempt to take over my father's throne. However, how could she be so evil to me and claim that I was the main culprit in destroying my father's reputation? My eyes shifted to Alora. She appeared startled by my words. I grinned at her and asked,"Alora, why do you look so nervous?"Hearing me, both my father and Zack turned their heads to look at Alora.I could not believe how quickly she had changed her expression. Her performance was worthy of praise. The award for best actress would have been given to her long ago if she had been an actress."Why are you
