LOGINFlora's POV
It had been two weeks since Alora joined our pack, and the whole pack seemed to revolve around her now. But that wasn’t what bothered me. What really got under my skin were the comparisons people started to make between us.
Alora was well-mannered and softhearted, traits that seemed to endear her to everyone. Even Milani couldn’t stop singing her praises.
I wasn’t jealous. Truly, I was happy for her. She was finally getting the care and attention she had missed out on for so long.
But my father’s behavior toward me had shifted, and that hurt. Before Alora’s arrival, I had been the apple of his eye, his cherished daughter. Now, it was as if I no longer existed. He ignored my words, my presence, as though I had never been his beloved child.
And Zack... Zack had grown distant. I didn’t know what had changed, but these past few weeks, he seemed so far away.
I had returned to my room earlier than usual after dinner because I wanted to do something to entice Zack, to remind him of the bond we shared. Maybe tonight, we could rekindle what felt lost. So I took a long, soothing shower, then slipped into the perfect nightgown.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, a blush crept across my cheeks as I looked at Zack sitting on the bed, scrolling through his phone.
Since our engagement, my father had allowed us to share the same bedroom, a decision that had once filled me with excitement.
I walked toward the bed, drying my hair with a towel. Sitting on the opposite side, I felt Zack’s attention shift. He lowered his phone, his gaze moving to my wet hair and then down to my nightgown.
Placing his phone on the nightstand, he moved closer to me. My heart raced as his hand cupped my cheek, his thumb brushing gently against my skin.
He leaned in and kissed my cheek before trailing soft kisses down my neck. “You planned to seduce me, didn’t you?” he teased against my skin.
I bit my lip, pushing gently against his chest.
“What?” he asked, his tone confused.
I met his eyes, hesitating before speaking. “Why have you been so distant lately? Has someone else captured your attention?”
My question seemed to take him by surprise. His expression darkened, a bitter look crossing his face as he pulled away. “What are you asking, Flora?”
Guilt washed over me as I saw the hurt in his eyes. I reached for his hands, but he pushed mine away. The rejection stung.
Afraid of losing him, I wrapped my arms around him, holding him tightly. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “But please, promise me you won’t fall in love with someone else.”
He stiffened at my words, and I pulled back to look at him.
He didn’t reply. Instead, he pushed me gently onto the mattress and kissed me.
I melted into the kiss, letting his touch erase my fears. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I pulled him closer.
It had been so long since we’d been this intimate.
As if sensing my need, Zack began unbuttoning his shirt. His hands moved to the ribbon of my nightgown, tugging at it with deliberate slowness.
I closed my eyes, surrendering to him.
But just as he slipped the nightgown off my shoulders, his phone rang, its loud trill shattering the moment.
Zack’s attention shifting to the nightstand. With a sigh, he moved away and grabbed his phone. His brow furrowed while he read the screen.
“What is it?” I asked, sitting up.
He glanced at me apologetically. “Sorry, dear. There’s an emergency.”
Disappointment settled in my chest, but I nodded. “Okay.”
Zack reached out, brushing a hand over my cheek. “I’ll be back as soon as it’s handled. I promise.”
I forced a smile, watching as he left the room.
Alone in bed, my thoughts drifted back to the beginning of our relationship. I was ten years old when I got lost at the pack’s border. Rogues had chased me, injuring me badly. I’d ended up in a coma, and when I woke, Zack was there by my side.
He had saved me.
In that moment, I had fallen for him completely.
I didn’t know how long I lay there, waiting for Zack to return, before sleep finally claimed me.

The next morning, the sound of the door closing woke me. I blinked, looking around the empty room. The faint sound of the shower running made me smile.
“Zack’s back,” I murmured, stretching lazily.
I yawned and closed my eyes again, intending to sleep a little longer. But Zack’s phone buzzed, pulling my attention to the bedside table.
I sat up, glancing at the phone where it lay charging. Normally, I wouldn’t have checked it, but a nagging feeling gnawed at me. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the phone. I tried to unlock it, but the screen flashed: “Password Incorrect.”
A sinking feeling settled in my chest. Zack had changed his password. Before I could put the phone down, a message from Alora appeared on the screen. My heart stopped as I read it: “She didn’t find out, did she?”
Beta Joy rushed to him, holding his arm to turn him."Aaron, what's happened?" he asked, as he was the closest person to him."She ran away..." Aaron muttered in a distant voice, looking at the floor. The officials did not need time to understand who he was talking about."She ran away with the Lycan King!"This time, Aaron's voice was colder than ice. He felt disgusted by her.On the other hand,Flora’ mother Neyon heard the smashing sound and woke up from sleep. She didn't go to the engagement party because King Fred told her it could bother Aaron.Nyeon left her room and went to the living room to find out what the sound was.All the maids and servants left their cabins and rushed to the living room as well."Alpha, is everything okay?" Neyon asked with a gasp when she saw the broken coffee table."Tell her to leave now. I am not in the right mind. I can kill her too," Aaron said to Beta Joy.Gamma Edwin looked at Nyeon and said, "Flora has left the pack; Alpha is angry right now.
Aaron froze when he heard that. His blood boiled, and he clenched his jaw.'After getting caught, she still dares to see him?' he thought in anger. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialed the border guard's number."Close all the borders."Hearing him, the border guards were stunned. "Alpha, many Alphas from different packs are leaving the pack after your engagement party. Do we really have to close the borders right now?" the guard said, trying to confirm it.Aaron gritted his teeth. "Did the Lycans leave the realm yet?""Not everyone, but a few members of the Lycan realm and the Lycan King himself."Aaron's eyes darkened. His lips parted as he wanted to ask something but also feared that the reply would be something he would not like at all. Before he could speak, the border guard said,"As you ordered us before, we checked him with securities before letting him go out of the pack. We didn't get anything, Alpha. We can rest assured that he was harmless.""Was he with some
Third POVIt was late at night. The engagement party was over after the grand feast. All the important guests left with a satisfied smile on their faces.Outside the hall, King Fred and Lifaya's father, Hardin Stone, were conversing while smoking.Their eyes were on the sky, which had a bright moon tonight."Did you see the moonlight? Then the moon goddess herself wanted them to be together. She parted their ways years ago; tonight they got back together," Hardin said.King Fred nodded his head with acknowledgement. He also thought so. With this one engagement, he could kill two birds. His son got back to him, and they could align with the Lycan Kingdom.Fred's satisfied grin faded when he heard Lifaya's voice coming near them from behind."Aaron, I planned something special for us tonight. Let's go with me.""I have some stuff to do. I can't go; you can enjoy yourself," Aaron replied, walking out of the hall.Fred's brows furrowed when he saw his son's ignorance toward the Lycan prin
I was not really listening to Oliver until I caught a glimpse of his screen. I looked once, then looked again, paralyzed. What I saw in that video changed everything. My heart stopped. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The video on his phone showed Alpha William and Aaron in a conversation. But it was the bandage on William's head that really sent a chill down my spine. The video was taken after the day I hit William."H-He didn't die?" I mumbled in shock.Oliver shook his head and replied with a sigh,"I have found out everything with my sources. You were accused of killing Alpha William. In truth, he didn't die in that accident. Aaron saved him with his private physician. But he didn't let others know about it. He let the case get stuck in your head and let them think that you are a murderer."IMy mind went blank. This wasn't a fake or an edit. It was the raw, brutal truth. The video was real. I could even see Beta Joy in the frame. Then, my heart stopped. I could see the spot w
My heart smashed as if someone had hit it with a hammer. I could feel every bit of pain. My eyes blurred with tears. He broke me at the same time he made me realize my position. He was right. I could never be someone's wife. My ex-boyfriend, Zack also did the same with me. I was about to engage with him, but he chose my sister over me.Tonight, Aron did the same thing again. He decided to marry someone powerful over me who was compatible with him.Marriage...No one could even think like that with me. I was left out like a plaything. They could only think about playing with me, not giving me any name.My heart trembled, and I felt like dying. My eyes could not keep eye contact with him anymore."N-Never?" I whispered under my breath. He heard me clearly even though my voice came out in a hushed tone.He averted his gaze from me. "Never," he replied with the high tone of coldness. He walked forward, leaving me there alone, broken. I stared at his broad back. The aura radiating from him
Hearing him, the ground underneath my feet shook. When did this man start to hate me this much?I recalled the days in my old pack when he had protected me many times from the world. But tonight, he was behaving like this! It was beyond the pale!"A-Aaron..."My mumbling voice reached his ear, but he did not stop moving forward. As if my life was going away from me, I rushed toward him and fell on my knees near his feet.Tears streamed out of my eyes. I could not describe to him how I was feeling. He was the only person, the only hope for me to stay alive. I had no one... My father abandoned me, my mother did not want to acknowledge me, and I had no one to love except him.His steps halted by my action. He turned his head to the side and lowered his gaze to look at me.I dropped my head, crying in silence."Why did you do that? You said you don't love her anymore. Then why?" I sobbed, not daring to look up to meet his eyes.I was afraid he would break my heart again. Maybe... Just may
