Flora's POV
It had been two weeks since Alora joined our pack, and the whole pack seemed to revolve around her now. But that wasn’t what bothered me. What really got under my skin were the comparisons people started to make between us.
Alora was well-mannered and softhearted, traits that seemed to endear her to everyone. Even Milani couldn’t stop singing her praises.
I wasn’t jealous. Truly, I was happy for her. She was finally getting the care and attention she had missed out on for so long.
But my father’s behavior toward me had shifted, and that hurt. Before Alora’s arrival, I had been the apple of his eye, his cherished daughter. Now, it was as if I no longer existed. He ignored my words, my presence, as though I had never been his beloved child.
And Zack... Zack had grown distant. I didn’t know what had changed, but these past few weeks, he seemed so far away.
I had returned to my room earlier than usual after dinner because I wanted to do something to entice Zack, to remind him of the bond we shared. Maybe tonight, we could rekindle what felt lost. So I took a long, soothing shower, then slipped into the perfect nightgown.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, a blush crept across my cheeks as I looked at Zack sitting on the bed, scrolling through his phone.
Since our engagement, my father had allowed us to share the same bedroom, a decision that had once filled me with excitement.
I walked toward the bed, drying my hair with a towel. Sitting on the opposite side, I felt Zack’s attention shift. He lowered his phone, his gaze moving to my wet hair and then down to my nightgown.
Placing his phone on the nightstand, he moved closer to me. My heart raced as his hand cupped my cheek, his thumb brushing gently against my skin.
He leaned in and kissed my cheek before trailing soft kisses down my neck. “You planned to seduce me, didn’t you?” he teased against my skin.
I bit my lip, pushing gently against his chest.
“What?” he asked, his tone confused.
I met his eyes, hesitating before speaking. “Why have you been so distant lately? Has someone else captured your attention?”
My question seemed to take him by surprise. His expression darkened, a bitter look crossing his face as he pulled away. “What are you asking, Flora?”
Guilt washed over me as I saw the hurt in his eyes. I reached for his hands, but he pushed mine away. The rejection stung.
Afraid of losing him, I wrapped my arms around him, holding him tightly. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “But please, promise me you won’t fall in love with someone else.”
He stiffened at my words, and I pulled back to look at him.
He didn’t reply. Instead, he pushed me gently onto the mattress and kissed me.
I melted into the kiss, letting his touch erase my fears. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I pulled him closer.
It had been so long since we’d been this intimate.
As if sensing my need, Zack began unbuttoning his shirt. His hands moved to the ribbon of my nightgown, tugging at it with deliberate slowness.
I closed my eyes, surrendering to him.
But just as he slipped the nightgown off my shoulders, his phone rang, its loud trill shattering the moment.
Zack’s attention shifting to the nightstand. With a sigh, he moved away and grabbed his phone. His brow furrowed while he read the screen.
“What is it?” I asked, sitting up.
He glanced at me apologetically. “Sorry, dear. There’s an emergency.”
Disappointment settled in my chest, but I nodded. “Okay.”
Zack reached out, brushing a hand over my cheek. “I’ll be back as soon as it’s handled. I promise.”
I forced a smile, watching as he left the room.
Alone in bed, my thoughts drifted back to the beginning of our relationship. I was ten years old when I got lost at the pack’s border. Rogues had chased me, injuring me badly. I’d ended up in a coma, and when I woke, Zack was there by my side.
He had saved me.
In that moment, I had fallen for him completely.
I didn’t know how long I lay there, waiting for Zack to return, before sleep finally claimed me.

The next morning, the sound of the door closing woke me. I blinked, looking around the empty room. The faint sound of the shower running made me smile.
“Zack’s back,” I murmured, stretching lazily.
I yawned and closed my eyes again, intending to sleep a little longer. But Zack’s phone buzzed, pulling my attention to the bedside table.
I sat up, glancing at the phone where it lay charging. Normally, I wouldn’t have checked it, but a nagging feeling gnawed at me. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the phone. I tried to unlock it, but the screen flashed: “Password Incorrect.”
A sinking feeling settled in my chest. Zack had changed his password. Before I could put the phone down, a message from Alora appeared on the screen. My heart stopped as I read it: “She didn’t find out, did she?”
Flora's POVI wiped the corners of my eyes, staring at Zack’s phone in my hands. Alora’s message echoed in my mind: “She didn’t find out, did she?”What did it mean? What was Zack hiding from me?The bathroom door creaked open, and Zack stepped out, a towel slung over his shoulder. His eyes immediately landed on the phone in my hand. He rushed over, snatching it from my grasp.I froze, stunned by his reaction. “Alora sent you a text,” I said, watching him.Zack nodded, glancing at the screen. His fingers moved quickly as he typed a reply. For a moment, I just stared at him. Then I asked, “Are you hiding something from me?”He froze mid-step, turning toward me with a hard expression.“You checked my phone?” he asked.I ignored his question, repeating mine. “What are you hiding, Zack?”He let out a sigh and replied, “Your birthday is coming up soon. Alora and I were planning a surprise for you. We didn’t want you to find out.”I studied him for a moment, his words hanging between us. My
Flora's POVFor a second, I stared at my phone. I so rarely received videos, and the image on the screen was nothing but a blur—until I clicked on it. The video started, and all I could see was Zack’s face amid a sea of nakedness. My hands trembled as my eyes widened. My Zack… with another woman? How could it be? Tears welled and then streamed, and I felt like screaming.I so badly wanted to see who the woman was, but her face was turned away. Zack’s was unmistakable, though. The man I loved more than anything had cheated on me.A sob broke from my chest, and then another. I cried for a while—who knew how long—and then called my best friend, Kayla, as soon as I felt I could get some words out.She picked up on the third ring, her voice sharp with irritation. “So you finally have time to call me, huh?”I winced. I’d been so busy over the past few weeks that I hadn’t spoken to her.“K-Kayla...” I managed through a sob.Her tone shifted immediately. “Flora? What’s wrong?”“H-he”—I took a
Flora's POVPanicking, I turned toward the door, ready to leave. I put my hand on the knob, and heard voices outside the door.“Oh my God, is the alpha’s daughter really in a room with another man?”“How shameful!”The voices grew closer as they spoke. Reporters? Or a crowd hungry for gossip? Either way, they were gathering right outside the door.I froze as rage bubbled inside me with the realization that this had been Alora’s doing. She had sent me to this stranger’s room, knowing exactly what would happen. She probably tipped off the people outside, too; how else would they know I was there? Why would Alora doing this to me? I’ve never done anything to hurt her.My mind raced, trying to come up with a way out of this situation. Before I came up with any good ideas, the man said, “Interesting,” in a curious fashion. I turned to find him donning a mask that concealed the top half of his face. Then he approached me, and before I think to could react, grabbed my hand. The contact sent
Flora's POVAs time passed, I became the infamous outcast of the pack—the lowest among them all. People whispered about me whenever they saw me. The news of my supposed affair with a stranger had spread like wildfire, and I had become the pack’s scandal. I could live with their judgment, but my father’s cruelty, along with Zack’s, was unbearable. My father, who once cherished me, now scolded me at every opportunity. His distant demeanor had turned into open hostility, as if he detested me. Zack, on the other hand, acted as if I didn’t exist. The day he broke up with me, I moved out of our shared bedroom—not by choice but because he demanded it. Worse, it was Milani, not him, who informed me that the servants had already moved my belongings to another room. When I arrived, I was horrified to find a small, shabby room, so filthy it looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. When I asked the maids for help cleaning it, they ignored me. Were these not the same people I once thou
Flora's POVThe night of the Annual Werewolf Ball had finally arrived. It was the day when members of other packs gathered to celebrate in unity.Everyone seemed thrilled—except me. I had meticulously planned every detail of the event. Yet my father had taken all the credit and handed it to Alora, telling everyone she was the one responsible for the flawless execution. Once the alpha’s daughter, I had been reduced to a mere waitress for the evening, hardly able to believe my father would humiliate me in such a way.As the guests began to arrive, I donned a mask that covered half my face and retreated into a shadowed corner, avoiding their curious stares. Then Zack and Alora entered the ballroom, holding hands and smiling broadly.I clenched my fists, my gaze burning holes into the floor as I forced myself to look away. I didn’t want to waste another thought on Zack. But my father’s voice boomed over the loudspeaker, drawing the attention of everyone in the room.“Good evening, ladies
I really wanted to thank this "stranger," but just as I was about to speak, Alora’s voice cut through the air. “Look at her,” she said with a sarcastic grin. “There are so many men around my sister.” Her words were sharp, designed to humiliate me further. The man beside me turned his glare on her, his eyes blazing with fury. “What did you say?” he demanded, his voice low and dangerous.Alora faltered, clearly taken aback by the force of his presence. Even my father seemed unnerved. His face paled, and he murmured something under his breath as he stared at the man.“Who is he?” Alora asked, her voice trembling as she addressed my father. “Did we invite him?”I was surprised to find my father Alpha Joshua’s eyes widened, panic flickering across his face. Before he could respond, a soldier in a royal uniform stepped forward. “King Aron,” the soldier said, bowing deeply. “I’ve been looking for you.”King Aron?!The most powerful, crucial Alpha King, Aron Elliott?I froze in my place. My
Flora's POVThe room felt tense. Alora's betrayal was clear, and her acting was obvious. I couldn't believe what was happening. The waiter quickly pointed at Alora and said, “It’s her! She was the one who told me to do this.”The king paused. Everyone turned to look at Alora. The waiter dropped to his knees, hands clasped in apology.“I was only following her orders, King. Please forgive me…”Everyone now suspected Alora. She saw this and started crying. She looked at our father, Alpha Joshua, and Zack. Her tears were fake.Alora watched me, standing behind the powerful man who protected me, her trembling fingertips digging into her palm. "It was her, she framed me..." She started, but when her gaze met King Aaron’s, she swallowed the words and fell silent. Then, she turned to Zack, her eyes wide with false innocence, her expression full of pity."Did you really send Flora to the hotel room?" Zack’s sharp voice cut through the tension. He furrowed his brows, glaring at Alora. I wat
My wolf’s senses were sharper than most. My hearing was exceptional, and my instincts were finely tuned, as if I could feel the slightest shift in the air around me. As I moved silently through the shadows, I heard the faintest rustle behind me.A chill swept over me. Someone was approaching. I guessed they were sent by Alora.Without hesitation, I spun around just in time to see two figures emerge from the darkness, their hands raised, ready to strike. Before they could even react, I was on them. I moved with the precision of a predator—swift, lethal. They froze, caught off guard by my speed. They had underestimated me, thinking they could overpower a lone woman. But I was no ordinary woman, and certainly no ordinary wolf. I could hear their breathing, feel their movements before they even made them. They lunged at me, hands outstretched, trying to seize my neck, but I was already gone—too quick, too elusive. One of them made a desperate attempt, throwing a punch directly at my face.
The king's question caught me off guard. I immediately turned my head to look at him to deny the fact. However, when I turned my face, my nose brushed against his. For a brief moment, I found myself out of breath. The tip of his nose was cold, giving me goosebumps.I looked into his eyes with my wide eyes. The pair of dark eyes were mysterious. It was as if there were so many secrets hidden inside. It could be pleasant or painful, shocking or regrettable.I did not know how long I could keep looking at them, but I could not take my gaze away."Are you trying to find a new way to get close to me?"I was dumbfounded. A new way? When did I use a technique to get close to him? Everything was just a coincidence between us.Feeling that he was misunderstanding me, I immediately pushed him and moved away.Within a few seconds, I realized what I had done.I got up and turned around, then gasped. I slammed my palm against my mouth."Did I just push the Almighty king?" I muttered to myself."Wh
I quickly moved my hand away. He glanced at my face with a pair of narrowed eyes as if he was observing my expression.I lowered my head while sitting beside him."Your Majesty, I heard you are eyeing land in our pack. You are welcome to ask our assistant," one of the men spoke out.The tension in the air eased a little as the man broke the silence. Others nodded their heads as they fully paid their attention to King Aron.'He is eyeing some land?' I thought, fixing my gaze on the floor.I was waiting to hear more. I wondered if the land was somehow related to my father's company."Do you think I need your assistance?" Aroan asked, sipping his drink. The man who had spoken out earlier felt nervous after hearing Aron. It was clear that there was no way they could turn the king's favor toward them until the king himself wanted it.The other man on the left couch cleared his throat. "Your Majesty, you know we are the legitimate businessmen to have your favor. If we get a chance, we will
Aron's jaw tensed. His brows furrowed as if he was enraged. Anger flickered in his eyes.I was afraid he did not like how close we were.I could feel the intensity of his silent rage. The wind blew through the window, touching my face and brushing my hair against his face.He inhaled and closed his eyes then turned his face to the other side.It was as if the wind had mixed with my scent and entered his nostrils, and he seemed to dislike it.I felt embarrassed and quickly moved away."I—I am sorry, Your Majesty," I said in a very low tone. This time, others did not hear me. When they saw my reaction, they began laughing at me."Silly girl! She could not wait and fell straight to the King?"I wanted to just dig my own grave and bury myself. I had felt humiliated before, but this time felt different."You don't need to laugh. If your wives had been here, they would have done more than that."I froze when I heard King Aron's voice next to me. His words were dark and sarcastic. However, n
"Your Majesty, please forgive her. She is naive," Alpha William said, drawing me closer to him.I blinked, looking down at William's hand. He held my arm tightly and whispered to me,"Apologize properly, Flora. He is the king capable of killing you here."I got chills just thinking about it. I shook my head, realizing that it was not true. The king would not kill me. He had rescued me several times."Alpha William, did you come here to sabotage our opportunity? We are here to greet the Alpha King. If you want to apologize, have your woman serve the king."Alpha William nodded as he heard one of the businessmen speak. He dragged me towards the couches."What are you doing?" I asked him.“Stay quiet.”He approached the couch where King Aron was sitting. I took a glance at Aron. He was looking at something with concentration. I followed his gaze and found him looking at William's hand, which was holding my arm.For some unknown reason, I did not want the king to misunderstand my connecti
I did not know why, but just hearing about the king made my heart skip a beat.'The king? King Aron is here!'I turned my head, trying to locate him. But King Aron was nowhere to be found."Where is he?"I heard Alpha William asking his assistant about King Aron. I paid attention to their conversation."He is in the lounge area. I heard all the big heads of this pack are there to please him."Alpha William rose from the chair and said,"Great! We should go there to greet him."I stared at Alpha William. He seemed to be very excited to meet the Alpha King. Who would not be? Having the king here in the pack was a blessing for the Alphas. They were eager to form an alliance with him. An alliance with the Alpha King ensured that no one would dare to attack their companies."Flora, let's go and greet the king," Alpha William said to me.I was taken aback. He did not address me by my first name this time, which was surprising. But the main issue for me was that I would have to face the king
"Why are you not sitting?"Hearing his question, I gave him a look and asked, "If you leave my hand, then I can sit, Mr. Bentley."He glanced at my hand and let out a chuckle. "Oh, yeah. You are right."He let go of my hand, and I quickly pulled it back. I sighed, fighting the urge to leave the restaurant.'I came here for the deal. So I have to deal with him,' I told myself.I sat down on the chair across from him. I noticed him motioning for the manager to leave. The manager gave him a nod as he left our table. My gaze remained fixed on him. He was Alpha William Bentley. He was his father's sole heir to run the company. According to what I learned about him, he was not very good at business. However, his father had built a big company, and he had become in charge of it. He had the resources that my father required for his business. It might be useful for our pack as well."Miss Flora, I heard you have been sick for the past few months. Are you alright now?"Alpha William's question
It was the day of the pack meeting with Alpha William.I expected the meeting to take place in the morning at our company. However, I was surprised to learn that the meeting would be held in the evening at a restaurant.Who decided to hold a pack meeting at night? Not just a simple meeting, but a discussion about collaboration!I ignored the fact and started looking for a dress for tonight.I was moving the dresses one by one when I heard a knock at the door."The door is unlocked," I shouted. Two maids entered my bedroom. When I turned my head, I saw them holding bags and jewelry boxes.I frowned at them, shut the door to my closet, and walked towards them."What are these?" Glancing at the bags, I inquired. They put the bags and jewelry boxes on the bed and turned to face me."Alpha sent them for you. He said you could select and wear them tonight."I was dumbfounded. "Did Dad send these?"They responded by nodding their heads. I was not sure why I needed to look my best for a meeti
I was annoyed by the thought of causing such a disturbance to the king. I glared at Zack, saying,"If you dare to disturb the king, then why not?"Zack was taken by surprise. He had not expected me to say that. He might have expected me to beg him not to tell the king."What's happening here?"My father, Alpha Joshua, had just entered the packhouse and noticed what was going on.To enlighten him about everything, Alora rushed over and said,"Dad, Sister lost her mind. We found out who the mask—"I interrupted Alora and said, "Dad, Zack has been taking herbs and tonics from me for free."There was an unexpected silence in the pack house, which was exactly what I needed.Zack's eyes widened as he stared at me in shock. What did he think? I was kidding with him when I said I would tell my father about it?Alora shook her hand and tried to distract Dad. "No, Dad. Nothing is like what she is saying. She was just helping Zack's mom."My father's brows furrowed as he turned his head to Zack.
'Why would he look at me?' I thought, shaking my head. The car drove away from the pack house, passing through the steel gate when the guards opened it upon seeing the car leave.I sighed and turned around to approach the front gate. However, when I looked at the door, I was taken aback.Zack was standing by the door, his gaze fixed on me."Oh, crap! Did he see the king?"I started walking towards the door, ignoring his gaze. When I was about to step foot into the pack house, Zack asked,"Where have you been? Where is your other shoe?” His gaze shifted to my feet, and he looked at me in disgust.I looked down at my own feet. I was so caught up in thinking about the king that I forgot I was only wearing one heel. I was limping to the pack house with one heel!I took off the heel and tossed it to the side. The other pair had been lost, so it was no longer useful. I stepped forward to the door instead of answering his question.Zack grabbed my wrist and turned me around to face him.I gl
