144. Our Child Together

I was killing it here, and I had a new friend who seemed to like me even though I hadn't told her the truth about my running from my past.

We talked daily, and I often went to her restaurant to have dinner; it was great, but I couldn't allow myself to get carried away by some fairytale.

This wasn't a life worth living, it was purely for survival, and I wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize that by associating myself with more people.

I knew I was kidding myself. I have grown attached to Gwen. I saw her as the girl who saved me from the worst, or what she thinks is the worst thing that has happened to me.

I have survived the worst, and it was a miracle that I was still breathing or hadn't killed myself; having a stalker was one thing, but having a determined murderous stalker was even worse.

He wouldn't give up till I was dead like the rest of my family. He wanted to tie up loose ends to close the chapter; if I had my way, I wouldn't let that happen. I would keep run
