ISABELLA POV

The world around me was literally spinning.

I was lying on the cold floor of my sitting room, my vision narrowed, surrounded by the figures of Lilian’s panicking face and the paramedics in uniform hovering over me.

My body felt disconnected from me, my limbs heavy and unresponsive, but my mind was still quite conscious, aware of the reality, only that I was trapped in this haze of weakness.

I could see them. the paramedics in blue uniforms rushing around with their apparatuses in hand, about two of them kneeling beside me, their voices low and urgent.

I felt them lifting me up, their hands firm yet careful as they propped me up on the seat.

The room spun slowly, my consciousness waving, shifting from black to white. Nevertheless, I wasn’t gone. I was still here.
