Nina’s POV

The room seemed to swallow me in while I laid on the bed, eyes on that hole that seemed to pull me in.

My eyes swarmed with tears in them, but I couldn't bring myself to be sad because I knew that I couldn't afford that right now.

From me finding out that I was poisoned to Reina telling me that Brian was a suspect was something that I couldn't place my hands on. There had been nothing that had given it away, I mean, he had always been there.

He hadn't shown any sign of wanting the company until recently when he kept mentioning the merger and I knew my mother was making up excuses for him.

The door cranked open, revealing my mother who was fuming in anger, brows drawn.

I pushed myself up, sitting upright as I studied her face. She looked enraged or rather she was enraged, but I didn't know what exactly it was.

“ Have you found the culprit? Who has been poisoning me?” She didn't answer, her eyes dimmed in on me. So sharp that I didn't know what to make of it.
