Em
The rest of the week flew by as Emerson settled in her new home. She rode to school with the twins every day, promising next week they’d take her car. Classes were fairly easy and Emerson had grown to love her last class in the library. She enjoyed getting lost in all the books and had time to work on any homework. She had spent the afternoons at the dance studio, learning how to take care of the books and payments at Tush. Sylvia accompanied her most days and she manned the desk at times Maria let ‘Em help teach the littles, one thing Sylvia refused to do. Maria had praised her dancing skills already and told her she would be such an asset to their group. On Thursday Emerson got to meet the rest of the girls in her age group. Sylvia was there with her thank goodness. She was quickly becoming one of Em’s dearest friends. Sylvia had a quiet calming energy that put her at ease. She had a good heart, Emerson could tell. Mickey was also becoming a good friend. Emerson found her quite funny and the way she appeared to always be pissed off, but had a heart of gold under that rough exterior. The girls on the dance team welcomed Em with open arms. This was a change, she thought. She fully had prepared to be the outsider at least for a while but they all seemed fine with her joining, she thought Sylvia probably had a hand in that. Before she knew it, a couple of weeks had gone by and it was the weekend. She had fully expected to stay in and get some reading and homework done again, working at the studio plus dance practice took up her entire week until Friday. Once she got home she was tired and barely had time for supper and a shower. She loved it though, staying busy was the only thing that kept her mind from wandering off into dangerous places. She hadn’t seen Quinn much since that first day at school. He seemed to be avoiding her for some reason but she couldn’t make herself care. She had enough going on without that problem. Em had gotten home after school and changed into her comfy clothes when Aspen, Sylvia, and Mickey busted through her bedroom door. “Oh no you don’t!” Shouted Aspen. “Abso-fucking-lutely not” Mickey walked over to her bed and pulled her up from her position. “You’re not spending another weekend at home. We’re going out.. there’s a party. “. Mickey wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. “And it’s not goin on round here”. She added. After she had finally figured out the whole situation with Asher the other day she had been constantly talking in ~song~. “Guyysssss I love you but no thanks I do not want to do a party. I’m so tired I just need to relax a while” Em was whining and begging like this would help matters. “No way you need to have some fun. Maybe get a lil drinky drink…. Maybe meet some boys. Maybe make out a little…” Mickey started opening all her cabinet drawers searching for her sluttiest outfit she assumed. “Look if I’m going then you’re going” Sylvia, the voice of reason. “Come on”. Aspen patted her leg. “Let’s see what you’ve got to wear.” She winked at Em as she got up to rumble through her closet. But Em wasn’t moving. In fact the look on her face caused them to stop digging through her clothes. “Wait. What’s wrong Em? If you really don’t want to go we won’t.” Sylvia was by her side. “Woah woah woah. What’s going on?” Aspen came over to sit on her bed and Mickey followed. The girls were all around her now, each of them touching her gently. Em didn’t even realize she had started crying. She had gone into one of her spells that took her back to what happened. She quickly shook her head to come out of it and wiped her eyes. She wondered if she could call her old therapist this late in the day… “What’s going on Em”? Mickey asked her. “You can tell us, did something happen?” Sylvia took her hand. After a few moments Em finally calmed down and was able to breathe again. “Were you having a panic attack?” Aspen was barely whispering. Emerson nodded. “Something like it. I go into these phases where I blank out and get stuck in the past. My old therapist told me to always try keep my mind busy so this wouldn’t happen. That’s why I got the job and joined the team, doesn’t leave much room in my brain for old memories to seep in.” “Well. You know you can tell us anything, about your past I mean. When you’re ready. If you don’t want to now that’s okay too.” Aspen said gently. The other girls nodded in agreement smiling at their new friend. Em looked around at the girls. They had welcomed her into their group with open arms and quickly became her closest friends. She figured they might hear about it somewhere else if they went looking for it, and she trusted them, so she had rather them hear it from her. So the girls went downstairs and made coffee and popcorn and decided to have a sleepover. This story was gonna take a while….. and it was going to be the hardest one she had ever told.Em But then the doorbell rang. Em’s stomach did a little flip with nerves. Her mom got up to get the door. She heard them talking in the entry but she couldn’t see anything yet. Her mom was saying “Yes… come in… I was just telling her….” And then a man walked around the corner. Em got up to greet him .. but then.. someone else walked around the corner. Quinn. Her surprise must’ve shown on her face.. she was so happy he was there though. But he didn’t look happy at all. Was he mad that she postponed their date? He just stood there with his hands in his pockets. “Hey! What are you doing here??” She said smiling at him. “Em” her mom said. “This is John … my boyfriend.” He smiled deeply at her and she immediately knew she had seen him before. Wait. Oh god. There’s no way. There is absolutely no fucking way in hell this was happening. “Wait” she said. “This ….” She said pointing to John..”is your boyfriend?”“And this…”. She said looking at Quinn… “is your dad??”“
EmShe and Quinn had planned to go to his house that night, as his dad wasn’t gonna be home. But then all the worry about the outfit, all the planning…. none of it even mattered. Em’s mom told her when she got home that she had a special surprise for her that night. The man she had been seeing was coming over. Em and Sawyer were finally getting to meet him. As much as she wanted to meet the guy.. she didn’t want to do it tonight. “Tonight.. mom? I’ve got plans.”“Well can’t you go out after dinner?” She asked. Em guessed she could. But she had been waiting on this night with Quinn forever. Pushing it back even a couple of hours really sucked. “We had some things we wanted to discuss.” Her mom said. What could her mom and this man possibly need to discuss that included Em? Maybe they were gonna take that trip together after all. She went upstairs to text Quinn that she would be late coming over because her moms boyfriend was coming to supper. Quinn never texted her b
EmThe day finally arrived when Em was getting her stitches out. She had been nervous about it all day for some reason. Her mom was meeting her at the hospital but she still wanted someone to go with her. So the girls all piled into the little small waiting room with Em and her mom.. and the doctor of course. Getting the stitches out in her forehead didn’t hurt too bad.. but the ones in her leg were a different story. Those were staples.. and she had to hang on to Aspen’s hand and squeeze every time they cut one out. Mickey was watching closely. She literally had her head down by Em’s leg. But the soon as the doctor took the first staple out… she gagged and said she was gonna be sick. “This is worse than watching you get that last tattoo ‘Em!”Mickey exclaimed. Em quickly looked up at her mom… who hadn’t known about the ‘Q’ she had gotten… even though it was in plain sight on her hand. She smiled crookedly to her mom and shrugged her shoulders. “Ahhh shit. I did it aga
EmHalloween had come and gone while Em had been in the hospital. She hated that she missed it because it had always been one of her favorite holidays. She and her brother would always dress up and she would take him trick or treating. They hadn’t got to celebrate last year either, because so much was going on. So Em was a little bummed. She had ordered the cutest costume too. It was an ‘80s aerobics outfit. It came with a boombox and everything. She had been especially excited for Quinn to see her in it too. She knew he would love the leotard. At least Sawyer still got to go trick or treating. He had dressed up as Jon Snow. Apparently he had told every person that answered the door that ‘he was the king of the north’. But now the holidays were just around the corner and Em was so exited. It was her absolute favorite time of the year. Her mom had told them she would get out the Christmas tree and decorations that night. And the girls were coming over to help them.
QuinnHe was trying not to throw her down right there in the middle of the fucking entry way where they were still standing, but it was getting hard not to throw her down any and everywhere. He pushed her back against the wall kissing her madly, dominating her mouth with his tongue. She moaned… he pressed his whole body into hers. Just so she could feel what she was doing to him. “Quinn” she breathed. Holy fuck. When she said his name like that, he had to reign in the wild animal inside him. He growled. “Ahhhhh” she was making the most glorious noises. He bit her lip, hard, then sucked it into his mouth running his tongue over it. She was writhing. Pushing her body into his while at the same time pulling on his shirt trying to get him closer. She was still hurt though. Still in pain. He couldn’t be rough with her. He pulled away… looking at her like he wanted to devour her .. and he did. But damn. She still had stitches everywhere. Her ribs were still broken. Her poor
EmThe next couple of weeks came and went. It was getting very cold.. almost snowy. Em loved it. After living in California, snow was a new thing for her. Although she had been skiing and vacationed where it snowed… she had never experienced it from home before. She was getting better every day. Her bruises were healing… her body was getting stronger. She couldn’t wait until she was able to dance again. She had to miss the competition she had practiced so hard for, but she still went and cheered the team on. Em was so proud of Sylvia and the entire group, they placed 2nd out of forty five teams. And that was not an easy feat. She was also proud of Sylvia’s mom… she had started this dance company all on her own when the school decided to cut out dance all together. They’d worked so hard.. and it had paid off. Em had gone back to school… she had a little catching up to do but luckily for her the girls had been bringing her assignments home so she wasn’t too far behind. She had
