FLORENCE’S POV

Dirty tricks? Trap him?

As if I hadn’t been the one suffering in this marriage while he has had his job, his freedom, and his… Jade.

He tapped furiously on his phone and brought up a picture. He held it up so I could see… Emily. Carmen.

“That’s Emily, isn’t it?” he asked. But it was a rhetorical question. Of course, he knew.

“Yes, so what?”

“And the listening device. You put it there when she asked, didn’t you?”

“What?”

“She’s dating Daniel. It all makes sense now!”

“Mason—”

“What is this, a reunion of sisters? You haven’t spoken to her since she left, and now that she is back, you decide to ruin my life together??”

I had never seen Mason so… paranoid. He was always calm. Stoic. Polished. But the man before me seemed like a mess. The only time I had seen him this worked up was when Jade fell off that cliff. He was inconsolable. I heard he started getting night terrors and sleeping in a separate wing of the Whitehill Estate so nobody could hear him.

It couldn’t hav

What the hell is she crying for? He’s been a bastard to get their entire marriage. God I hate a woman who has no self respect. I guess it’s too much to hope for that she ends up with Raiden. Mason will do one semi nice thing for her and she’ll run back like a good doggy.

I'm glad she got rid of him!!! He's the one who'll regret and definitely not her!!!! I hope he discovers that Jade is the villain and comes begging Flo like a dog!!! Does Clarke have a feeling for her because he seems to like her and wants her to leave Mason asap!!!!

  • Chasing My Innocent Ex-wife Back   Chapter 21

MASON’S POVI slammed the car door shut and walked into the house, my jaw still tight with anger. She really left me.I felt her absence even more as I stepped into the bedroom. Her little picture frames… her throw pillows and makeup products, the hair clips, and her bathrobe… everything was gone. The emptiness sat on my chest like a weight, crushing me into dust. The room, though lit up, had never looked more dull. It was like she had never lived here. She must have been preparing for this for a long time.I sank into the armchair, staring at her side of the bed. The ghost of her presence clung to the room, mocking me. The silence was unbearable. With a frustrated growl, I grabbed my keys and left. I needed to talk to someone who could make sense of this mess.Chris.***“Florence initiated the divorce? No way,” Chris said, shaking his head in disbelief. “You’re joking.”I ran a hand through my hair, pacing his living room. “It’s done. She made me sign the papers. She’s been dist

FLORENCE’S POVWith every tear, I should have felt lighter. But an unbearable weight on my head and heart made it impossible for me to even breathe, let alone feel anything else. The divorce papers felt like lead in my hands as I silently rocked back and forth, sobbing on the couch next to my father’s hospital bed. How did I end up here? Five years of marriage. Five years of waiting, of trying, of hoping. And now, just like that… it was over.Since childhood, Mason had been the center of my world. He had shaped my dreams, my choices, my whole life. And now that he was gone, the void left behind felt strange and unsettling. I hated myself for sniffing over an ended marriage when I had so much to be thankful for… a second chance at my job, and my father finally out of prison. So why did I still feel so hollow? Unwelcome thoughts intruded into my mind. I imagined Mason sitting with Jade, laughing at me. Finally freely enjoying their time together as lovers and old friends. I wanted

FLORENCE'S POVI stepped into the office, greeted by the usual hum of activity. The team was in full swing, preparing for Eternity’s upcoming fashion show. Fabrics draped over racks, interns rushed past with mood boards, and the sound of rapid-fire typing filled the air.It was typically an energy I enjoyed. The adrenaline rush, the focus, the excitement… but now I only felt drained. As eyes landed on me, whispers began. “She’s back?”“I thought she quit.”“Did Mason really dump her for Jade?”I ignored them and made my way to my desk, only to be intercepted by Blake. She leaned against my chair, arms crossed, lips curling into a smirk. “Well, hi there, nice of you to remember you still have a job!” I let out a slow breath. I wasn’t in the mood for this. “Good morning to you too, Blake.”“Why not stay a rich housewife? Oh, wait—” she dragged out the words mockingly, “you’re not one anymore.” She held out a folder, flicking it toward me like it was beneath her. “Here. Since you obvio

FLORENCE’S POVI stared at Emily, my mind racing. She knew who was behind the leak? For weeks, I had assumed Daniel was the one pulling the strings. He had been Mason’s competitor for years and had every reason to try and destroy him. But the way Emily had put things, it looked like there was more to the story. And after a few seconds of thought, I also realized Daniel wouldn’t care about the marriage or Jade. He was far more interested in taking Eternity down from the inside. That’s what he wanted me for. “You really thought Daniel was behind everything, didn’t you?” Emily laughed. “You’re so naïve, Flo.”“Then who is?”Emily leaned back in her chair, studying me like a cat playing with its food. “I was at a magazine cover shoot with a bunch of other top models. And guess who was there.” I shrugged. I could have named a hundred people. She smiled. “Flynn.” My jaw dropped. The name alone sent a pang of something bitter through me. Flynn. A part of my past I had buried.Emily smir

FLORENCE’S POVI debated calling him for nearly ten minutes.Mason and I were over. Completely done. But this wasn’t just about me. Someone had been following us, photographing us, and leaking personal details online. I didn’t care if the internet wanted to tear me apart. But if the photographer leaked my father’s location… I shook my head. I didn’t even want to imagine it. He had already been through so much in prison. I sighed and pressed Call.He picked up after three rings. His voice was stiff. Guarded.Hopeful?“Why are you calling me?”I ignored his tone and got straight to the point. “I was followed. Someone was taking photos of me—of us—and I managed to grab his camera before he got away.”A beat of silence. Then: “Where are you?”“Blackwood PR.”***I was still outside, seated on a bench, when 4 black SUVs pulled up to the entrance. It had only been 10 minutes. Mason stepped out, followed by his bodyguards. He made a beeline for me. “Are you hurt?” he asked. I shook my h

FLORENCE’S POVAs soon as I stepped into the office, Raiden was already making his way toward me, concern written all over his face.“I heard Blake sent you to see your mother,” he said. “I told her to handle it herself, I don’t know why—” He stopped when he spotted Mason following me. “Whitehill…” he said, in his typical curt, stand-offish way. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” Pleasure was not what his voice reflected. It dripped with sarcasm and just a tinge of anger. “I’m here to see my wife. Is that a problem?” Mason responded. My wife.Funny how the first time I had ever heard him call me “wife” was the time I actually wasn’t. “Really?” Raiden smirked. “Then what on earth did Florence, Anna, and I celebrate a few nights ago? Was it not the end of this disastrous marriage?” I knew he was toying with him. We hadn’t celebrated anything, but Mason wouldn’t know that. I turned to look at my ex-husband—he was all but ripping Raiden’s head off his body. “Flo…” he said, his tone

FLORENCE’S POVPick me up after work? Never, in all our years of marriage, had Mason waited to pick me up from anywhere. I went anywhere I wanted to go by driving myself or taking a taxi. Not that I went to many places. Mason never took me out, and I stayed at the mansion to save money to send to Marco for my father’s protection. Somehow, that felt like a simpler time than whatever was happening now. Now, everything just felt confusing. Why was Mason trying to play the good husband? AFTER we were already divorced? I didn’t bother hiding my irritation. “You don’t need to put on a show anymore. We’re done, remember?”His eyes flickered with something unreadable. “You need me.”I scoffed. “Excuse me?”“Well, if you didn’t, why did you call me after you got that camera?”I regretted that call more and more by the second.“Are you joking? I was trying to warn you that we were being watched and that some news about us might leak to the papers. I was trying to prepare you. So you can do

FLORENCE’S POVFlynn. The sight of him sent a cold chill down my spine. Once upon a time, he had been kind to me. He had been warm. He had made me believe I could move on from Mason and fall in love again. That someone could love me back. And yet, here he was now, standing in the shadows outside my building, a smirk curling at the corner of his lips, his eyes glinting with something I couldn’t quite place.I clenched my fists. “How did you find me?”“I’m a paparazzo, Flo,” Flynn said, taking a step closer. “I know more than you think.”I held my ground, my heart pounding. “What do you want?”He lifted his chin, expression smug. “You took a camera from my guy today. I’m just here to take it back.”“Well, since you know everything, you should know I gave it to Mason.” “No, you didn’t…” he stepped closer. “It’s with you because you can’t trust Mason. Think I don’t know about your divorce?” he laughed. “So. I’ll take that with me now, thanks.” I stepped back as he came closer, clutchin

FLORENCE’S POVIt took Annalise ten full minutes to come out of the bathroom.I didn’t say anything. I didn’t knock. I didn’t push.I just sat on the floor with my back against the door, knees pulled to my chest, eyes flicking toward the clock every few seconds, trying not to let panic cloud my voice when I spoke.“I’m right here, Anna,” I said softly. “Take your time.”The only response I got for a while was the low hiss of the tap and the occasional rustle of movement. My stomach twisted. Finally, I heard the click of the lock, and the door creaked open. She stood there, pale and clammy, her eyeliner smudged at the corners. I’d seen her drunk, seen her mid-breakup sobbing over a pint of mint chocolate chip, seen her dancing barefoot on marble floors at parties—but this? This was different.“Are you…” I rose to my feet slowly, “okay?”She nodded, then shook her head. “I don’t know. That’s been happening a lot lately.”“What!?” My voice rose despite myself. “And you haven’t been to a

FLORENCE’S POVThe Blackwood private jet was exactly what you’d expect from Raiden: understated elegance, all clean white leather seats and warm wooden trim. No obnoxious gold, no velvet—just quiet charm and impeccable taste. Even the glassware looked like it had been chosen by someone who appreciated minimalism over flash.Rosa was already curled up in one of the corner seats with her legs tucked under her, champagne in one hand and a tray of chocolate-covered strawberries on her lap. She looked like she belonged there—like her life had always included private jets and French confections at 40,000 feet.Raiden was fast asleep, head tilted against the plush headrest, hair falling slightly into his face. His tie was loosened, his shoes were off, and his arms were crossed like he was guarding a secret. I couldn’t help but smile.I took the seat across from Rosa and buckled in.“So,” I started, propping my chin on my palm. “How is it that you’re flying back with us? Tired of having your

MASON’S POVThe jet ride home was quiet.Too quiet, considering the war I knew I was flying into. The luxury didn’t register. I didn’t taste the wine, didn’t hear the engines. I sat there staring out the window, watching clouds smear against the sky like brushstrokes on glass.I’d agreed to move back into my parents’ estate—not because I wanted to, but because returning to the mansion I once shared with Florence felt like walking back into a coffin. At least at the estate, there were people to blame. Walls I hadn’t painted. Silence I hadn’t created.Control was easier to tolerate than grief.A black car pulled up to the jet before it even fully powered down. No welcome committee. Just a driver and two security guys.Subtle. Functional. Meant to say: You’re back. You’re needed. Don’t ask questions.I didn’t.***The estate looked exactly the same. That was the worst part.Immaculate hedges, polished floors, servants who still wouldn’t meet your eye.As soon as I stepped out of the car,

MASON’S POVMy heart tore in two as I walked away from Florence at Fashion Week.Telling her I respected her new relationship… that I wanted to be friends…It felt like I floated up out of my body and watched someone else speak those words with a calm I didn’t feel. Someone more collected, more mature, more self-sacrificing.That wasn’t me.And yet… it was the only version of me I wanted to be around her right now.Because what was the alternative? Beg? Cling? Remind her of a love she had spent so long trying to recover from?I couldn’t be that selfish anymore.Still, as I turned the corner away from the crowd, my legs took me to the one place that felt familiar.Chris’s hotel room.***“And… you’re okay with being friends?” Chris asked as he popped open another bottle of beer like it was just water. The room around him was a disaster. Clothes half-folded in piles on the chair. Camera equipment scattered like he’d been mid-shoot and never stopped. Plates from room service littered

FLORENCE’S POVOur last few days in Paris went surprisingly smoothly. It was as if all the drama had cracked open the sky, and now the sun could finally shine through. We stopped walking on eggshells, stopped checking over our shoulders. For the first time in weeks, I felt like I could breathe. And with that breathing space came something quieter. Sweeter.Raiden and I stopped working, or thinking, or strategizing. We just… existed together. One morning, he took me to a flower market tucked into a sleepy corner of Rue Cler, where stalls overflowed with peonies and sunflowers and wild sprigs of lavender bundled in newspaper. We walked slowly, fingers brushing but never fully entwining, like we were suspended in the space between a first kiss and forever.Another day, he surprised me with a day trip outside the city. Just two hours from Paris was this sleepy, golden-drenched village called Vézelay, where the streets were cobbled and wine was poured like water. We had lunch at a tiny c

  • Chasing My Innocent Ex-wife Back   Chapter 97

FLORENCE’S POVThree hours and what felt like a million photos later, the shoot finally wrapped.Everyone was sun-drunk and emotionally winded, hovering somewhere between exhilaration and exhaustion. The air smelled of lavender and camera flash, and the vineyard around us glowed golden in the soft, late-afternoon light. But the results? They were extraordinary.Emily stood barefoot in the grass, wrapped in a loose linen robe the color of pearl, sipping chilled lemonade from a glass that looked almost too elegant for this world. Her braid had loosened over the shoot, strands falling gently around her face, giving her a soft, earthy glow. She didn’t look like someone recovering from a scandal. She looked like someone who had just stepped into her power.Rosa and I walked over slowly, like approaching a moment we didn’t want to break.“Hey,” I said gently. “How are you holding up?”Emily turned to us and smiled. Not forced, not shaky. A real one. “Honestly? I’m good.”“Really?” Rosa aske

  • Chasing My Innocent Ex-wife Back   Chapter 96

FLORENCE’S POVRaiden didn’t say a word as he led me away from the group, down a gravel path that wound through the vineyard toward a quieter patch of garden closer to the house. It was all rose bushes and old stone walls and creeping vines, and for a brief moment, I felt like we’d stumbled into someone’s private love story. The air here was still, sacred almost, as if even the bees buzzing near the blossoms knew to keep it down.“Raiden?” I asked gently. “What’s going on?”He stopped walking but didn’t turn around just yet. I watched his shoulders rise, then fall with a long exhale.“I don’t like the way Chris was flirting with you,” he said finally, his voice low and calm. “He’s got that whole harmless charm thing going, but I see through it. And I didn’t love watching you laugh at his jokes.”My brows lifted slightly. “You dragged me into a secret garden because you were jealous?”“Not just jealous,” he said, finally turning to face me. His eyes searched mine with quiet intensity.

FLORENCE’S POVOnce Emily confirmed she was okay with doing the nude shoot—completely on her terms, no pressure—we got to work.It wasn’t even sunrise yet when I sent the first text, barely able to feel my fingers after such an emotionally wrecking night. But there was no time to sleep. We had a window—small and delicate—and I was determined to help her step through it.I remembered an art director I’d met at Fashion Week just a few days ago. French, sharp, and wildly creative, she’d shown me a campaign she did for a sustainable lingerie brand that felt more like a gallery exhibit than an ad. I’d tucked her number into my phone, not thinking I’d need it anytime soon. Now I was dialing with barely a second thought. Her response came in instantly.Florence? Mon dieu, I would die to work with you.I didn’t even need to explain much—just that it would be raw, elegant, empowering, and fast. That was enough. She was in.I’d never done anything this last-minute in my life.Usually, shoots to

  • Chasing My Innocent Ex-wife Back   Chapter 94

FLORENCE’S POVEmily stared at the wine glass in her hand like she couldn’t remember how it got there. The room had quieted now. We’d coaxed her into eating something—a small plate of pasta and a few forkfuls of salad—and poured her half a glass of red. She hadn’t said much. She wasn’t crying anymore, but the silence around her wasn’t peace. It was a void.We sat around the little dining table in her suite, lit only by the dim overhead light and the soft glow from the city outside the windows. Rosa sat beside Emily, one protective hand resting lightly on her forearm. Rosa hadn’t even met Emily before this night, but had practically adopted her by that point. I was on her other side. Across from us, Raiden had flipped open his tablet and was already in fix-it mode.“I suggest we start with the basics,” Raiden said calmly, tapping through his notes. “Natalie, you’ll need to call the police. File a formal report. The earlier we do it, the better. Even if it doesn’t lead to anything imme
