I ran out of the club, not stopping to reply to Jaiya that was calling out for me and running after me. I flagged down a cap as soon as I got out. And I was just about to get in when she gripped my hand and forced me to stop.
Tears were rolling down my face without me even realizing.
“What happened? Who hurt you?” She asked, the words coming out of her in a rush.
I shook my head, not sure what I was trying to convey. She didn’t understand me any more than I understood myself and she kept looking at me with a lost expression.
I looked over her shoulder. Somehow feeling him close and sure enough, Atlas just came out the door.
