AURELIA

~<>~

“Come sit with me,” I muttered to the twins, feeling the weight of the past crushing my mind as I let the painful memories flow.

“Are you sure you want to tell them?” Inara asked me, worried about the same thing I have been worried about– Protecting the kids from the darkness I experienced in the past.

“If not all, they still need to know some. I can’t keep lying to them. Especially Katie. She already thinks Raiden is her Hero.” I snorted, feeling a bit jealous.

Was I doing this because I was jealous of the relationship the kids were building with Raiden? Maybe.

Despite the few good he had done during our forced stay, I still didn’t want him to steal my kids from me. The Raiden I married always had an ulterior motive. I was finding it difficult to believe that he had really changed.

I moved some of the clothes on the bed to another side, creating a place for me and the twins to sit. Katie had stopped crying but her eyes were wet and Kyle stared at me with interest as

ALPHA RAIDEN~~I felt at peace as I looked at Nolan’s lifeless body while his wife screamed her lungs out. She was clearly experiencing the pain of losing her mate but I didn’t care. I couldn’t bring myself to care.Nolan for Ronald. Larisa’s father for my father. It was simple. An eye for an eye. “Take his body to one of the cells. Let him rot there like my father did in his daughter’s captivity.” I let out that order without a single emotion slipping. My men rushed to carry out the order while my pack members silently watched. There was no kid around to witness the gruesome scene. I continued speaking, “Let this be a lesson to you all. If you are caught with the traitor, you will be stripped of your honor and dealt with in ways you can’t even imagine. It’s either you give up on helping Larisa or never get caught. This is my last warning.” I wanted whoever was working with Larisa to know that I was onto them. That would push him or her to make a mistake and reveal himself or

ALPHA RAIDEN~~With an unexplainable pain surging in the core of my soul, I muttered to the twins, “Can I see your mom? I need to talk to her–” “No, you can’t. She has nothing to say to you.” Katie countered sharply. Kyle supported without hesitation, “And you have nothing to say to her.” My brows furrowed. I could battle with a multitude of warriors but these two were my weakness. Without much defense, they were impenetrable. “Did you do something to them? They are very mad, Raid.” Lex asked at first but he soon voiced his assumptions. “You must have offended them. Just apologize. I can’t stand the glares.” I took my wolf’s advice even though I was certain I didn’t do anything that could have offended the twins… At least not recently. I cleared my throat, my apology slipping out. “Whatever I did, I’m sorry. Dad can be a fool at times, Sweeties. Can you forgive me?”“Not when you hurt Mama.” Kyle seethed to my surprise. Katie rubbed more salt on my open wound when she also add

ALPHA RAIDEN~~This can’t be happening. But it was happening. It was fucking happening and I couldn’t pick one emotion to focus on. Yes, I was angry. My trusted man was the snitch and I was sure as hell he was talking to Larisa on the phone.Another betrayal. This one was sharper, deeper, and more painful than Larisa’s betrayal and I couldn’t shake off the need to let my emotions out, especially the anger. “Raiden?” Andrew gasped, his brows raising like he was about to question me and he did question me. “The snitch? Me? Are you kidding me?” “I heard everything. How could you stab me in the back?” I snapped, lunging forward with my fists balled and ready to hit Andrew.Andrew tried to speak but I shut him up with a heavy blow to his face. My fist hurt but that was nothing compared to how much my heart was hurting. I didn’t stop with one blow, I continued, blocking my ears as Andrew grunted in pain, doing his best to dodge my attack and also fight back. Larisa betrayed me. Au

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   104. Larisa's POV (9)

LARISA’S POV~~Life outside the pack wasn’t easy. Although I had enough money and resources to fend for myself, it wasn’t the same as being part of a pack and enjoying the perks of being a Luna. The worst part of this life was waiting to get news or hear from my aide. If I was still in the pack, I wouldn’t have to wait this long. My aide and I have planned how he would break my parents out of prison and how he would help them get to me after hiding them in our home for a few nights because no one would think to search the place. However, I still haven’t seen my parents or heard from my aide even though the plan was supposed to kick off two nights ago. Yet I stayed in position. “They will soon be here,” I assured myself as I opened the door of the tenth storage house I have been to since I left Dark Moon Pack. I made sure I didn’t stay in a a place for too long because I didn’t want to be found by Raiden’s men who I knew were still searching everywhere for me. It was a good thin

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   105. A Death Trap

AURELIA~~I looked at the space where I had slept, cried, laughed, and felt many emotions in the past month for the last time. My kids and Hazel were already outside, and I was holding our last bag, ready to join them. I sighed as I began to walk toward the door but I stopped when I heard the sound of a cell phone ringing. My brows furrowed because the sound wasn’t coming from my handbag where my cellphone was safely tucked away and switched off as I didn’t want to hear from Tristan who must have been notified of our departure by Raiden’s men. There was no way anyone from Dark Moon would travel to Black Fur without informing Tristan.Out of curiosity, I traced the ringing sound to the bedside drawer on Hazel’s side of the bed, and lo and behold, I found a phone. I didn’t know how that was possible and how I had never noticed it until now.As I tried to read the unknown number, I perceived Hazel’s scent before I heard footsteps. Within a second, Hazel opened the door and entered t

ALPHA RAIDEN~~They were gone… I stood in front of the apartment they once occupied until I couldn’t see the cars anymore… not even the trail of dust the car tires evoked as they zoomed off.My mate and my kids were gone.“It’s never too late to stop them from leaving. They are still within pack territory–” Lex began to utter words that he thought would change my mind about letting Aurelia go if that was what she wanted. But I shook my head, sadness crawling into my entire being as I countered, “No, Lex. It’s too late and this is where we say our goodbye. I can never get her back but I can still be a part of their lives.”“That’s not enough. What about the mate bond? What about the dreams you have–” Oh, the half-broken bond that I had stubbornly held on to? The dreams that can’t come true because I fucked up? I etched, “It’s time to let the bond and the dream of having my own family go.” There was no way I would give up on being an awesome father to my kids. I also won’t let Au

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   107. Long Gone

ALPHA RAIDEN~~My legs grew a mind of their own as I ran towards my pack’s prison. I was beating myself up for my foolishness but I still focused on running as fast as possible. I was wrong. I was fucking wrong and Andrew did tell me but my head was so up my ass that I didn’t care to listen. My emotions spiraled and now I had made a huge mistake. I broke the one man who would do anything to stand with me and make sure my back was protected. How could I have assumed Andrew would stab me in the back? “The thought of it hurt you and you were blinded by that feeling and the feeling of loss.” Lex whimpered within me, reminding me about the emptiness I felt within. All these years, I thought I was empty without Aurelia and a complete bond but I was just beginning to understand the real meaning of the word empty. I pushed my pain out of my mind as Alpha Clinton’s words echoed in my head, forcing me to run faster. “I called your Beta yesterday because I got some news and I didn’t wan

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   108. The Other Side

AURELIA~~I felt it… The second Raiden accepted my long-standing rejection, I felt it in my bones. Mostly, I felt relieved that it was finally over with him but still, a tiny part of me grieved what could have been… what the both of us could have been, what our life would have been like with our kids if we didn’t start on the wrong track.I found myself thinking about the unknown future that stood before us all and I felt fear sinking into my bones as I wondered if I’d ever be happy. But that wasn’t all I felt. I felt suspicious as well. It’s been almost an hour since we left Raiden’s territory and even though we still had a long journey before us, something seemed off. Not only was the car in front speeding off like it wanted to get to Black Fur before the rest. Could Hazel be so excited that she told the driver to go faster than usual? I wouldn’t put it past her but I wished I could tell her to think about safety first.Aside from that, the driver of our car seemed to be stru

Before the war, I simply trained to get better and increase our chances of winning, but now, I am the leader of two packs and have more duties than I could have imagined. Life was different but one thing remained constant– my life was difficult.“Are you with me, Luna?” Andrew’s voice called me out of my self-pitying thoughts. I blinked rapidly, composing myself despite my desire to just go home, be with my kids, and–“Do you want to take the day off? I can handle the pack affairs while you recuperate.” Andrew offered and Seth who was sitting on the chair beside him nodded in agreement. But to be honest, I have rested enough. It’s been two months after the war and while a lot still needed to be fixed, the pack was recovering better than I thought it would, thanks to the help I have gotten from both sides– White Shade and Dark Moon.Andrew and Seth have been helping with Dark Moon’s affair and the elders of the White Wolves have been very helpful

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   238. Alpha Tristan's POV (13)

ALPHA TRISTAN’S POV~~As my eyes fluttered open, I could have sworn that my body had forgotten what it meant to be alive. Opening my eyes was harder than it should ever be for anyone but adjusting my eyes to the brightness around me was way harder than opening them. I let out a groan when I tried to lift a finger and pain consumed me. My entire body ached. I felt so heavy.“Alpha. You are awake.” Louis. That was his voice but it sounded more like noise to me as his voice sent a sharp ring through my aching head, making me groan again. At the moment, I didn’t feel like an Alpha. It took forever before I could see clearly and Louis's face was the first thing I saw. He was hovering above me, looking at me like he was scanning me for damages. “Thank the Goddess. I was beginning to worry that you might never wake up–” Louis stated, smiling. But seeing him so close to me sent flashes of what I knew was the past through my mind. I recalled everything. How he joined forces with Laris

aryAURELIA~~“We can’t give up like this, Relia. You shouldn’t give up like this. Mend him. Do something.” Inara uttered, urging me even though Raiden was gone. Do something… I couldn’t count the number of times I had heard those two words today and I hated the sound of it, mostly because I couldn’t do anything. “Yes you can, Alpha.” Tamia’s voice echoed in my mind. I didn’t know how she managed to reach me despite the turmoil my mind had become but she did and her voice would have given me some sort of peace if I wasn’t mourning my mate… My teary eyes found Tamia and Lori beside me, making me wonder how long I had sat in the dirt with Raiden’s body. For how long has his heart been crushed right there in my presence? For how much longer can I keep this devastating news from my kids–“Oh, my kids.” I cried out, undiluted misery settling within my being, making itself at home. They just got their father. How do I tell them it would be just us from now on? How do I manage this

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   236. A Dead Child

AURELIA~~I knew I screamed. I felt my lips parting and my lungs pushing out air as my mouth widened. I knew I screamed but I heard nothing. The world went still while Raiden kept falling. Faster than my brain could register. Faster than my body could react. Although I was still standing, I fell with him. Although my eyes were still open, they closed the second his eyes did. I saw the same darkness he saw when he closed his eyes. I felt the same pain he felt when his heart was engulfed by a strong force and maybe I screamed because I knew there would be no going back as that force crushed his heart before I could even blink. “No!” Inara’s cry burst through my crushed soul as she exclaimed, “Do something, Relia.” But what could I have done? After draining Larisa as my wolf suggested, I didn’t expect any sudden movement from her. Heck, she was as good as dead and when Louis screamed those warning words, I was too tired to react quickly. Converting Larisa’s dark energy to pure

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   235. Damsel In Distress

ALPHA RAIDEN~~It took seeing Larisa and Aurelia in a fight for me to realize that I was wrong to assume that I could take down Larisa just because I was the most powerful Alpha in the realm… Physical strength was no use against Larisa because she had soaked my soul in dark energy. She wasn’t even touching me and I was feeling pain despite floating in the air like gravity had decided to take a break.Sadly I realized that I was of no use in this war. In fact, I was merely a weak link that Larisa wanted to use to defeat Aurelia and have her way in the realm. I was trying so hard not to scream and came off as a powerless puny before my exhausted mate and my warriors but this pain was eating me alive. It was everywhere. Digging deep into me. I have been trying to block the pain from getting to Aurelia as I could tell that she didn’t need that right now. If I couldn’t contribute power, I shouldn’t add pain either. But of course, that wasn’t easy to achieve. I could feel the pain slip

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   234. The Better Party

AURELIA~~Raiden’s scream was heard by every warrior. I could feel every one of our friends and pack members freezing for a moment as we all understood that for an Alpha; in fact, the strongest Alpha in the realm; to scream like that, hell was coursing through him. We all understood. I, as his mate and Luna, knew even better because the second the hell burst out within him, I felt it burning me from within and it was only a matter of time before I let out a scream of my own. “You dare not, Relia.” Inara’s voice echoed, breaking through whatever Larisa was doing to Raiden which was affecting me greatly as I tried to keep the spiritual link between me and the warriors open. If those links should close, they would all die as they would be no match for Larisa’s fortified warriors. “It hurt. I’m burning from within and–” I cried to my wolf even though Phoebe was still right behind me, healing me and Otis keeping me out of sight.“Do you know why she is coming at you hard?” Inara as

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   233. Hello, My Love

ALPHA RAIDEN~~My feet couldn’t carry my body weight fast enough as I ran through the forest, noticing how deserted my pack was. Those pack members who were not in the hall with Mia Lu were with Aurelia on the battlefront where my body was literally yanking me toward.I was on high alert and if I was being honest with myself, I would admit that I wasn’t in my right senses but how do I even think when all I felt was the urgent and dying need to be with Aurelia? It was like a pull. The kind of pull a mate should feel only when his mate is in grave danger. The kind that makes a man’s heart bleed and every nerve in his body go out of control.Yes, I was losing it. I had lost it from the second I regained consciousness and felt the strange burn on Aurelia’s mark which was sitting on my neck.I woke up with the need to get out. To break free and get to Aurelia even though my kids were in the hall and beside me. The second I saw Mia Lu stagger due to exhaustion, I ran and hadn't stopped

AURELIA~~“You did it, Alpha.” Jeremy’s words echoed in my mind. He was satisfied. I could tell, even though I wasn’t looking at his face, that he was smiling. Together we have extended our spiritual energy and every warrior with his now has enough to fight against Larisa’s warriors. I have been trying to study their behavior and movement since we arrived. They seemed strange and I had also reported everything I noticed to Tamia and Lori through the mind link. The duo promised to start working on breaking Larisa’s hold on the warriors of Black Fur who might still decide to fight us afterward but when we get to that bridge we will cross it.“Stay with me, Alpha. You can’t be distracted now that you have announced yourself to the witch.” Jeremy warned me, becoming a friend faster than I could ever imagine. He had my back.I felt safe with him.“For how long can we keep this going?” I asked Jeremy through the mind link, my eyes on Andrew who has his hand on one of our opponent’s hea

LARISA’S POV ~~That bastard Jake!He couldn’t do anything right! He failed to save my parents and now he even failed to kill this bitch…I didn’t see this coming and I hated the sight of her. I felt like pulling all my hair out just because she was standing there and wasn’t an illusion. And did that warrior just refer to her as the Luna of Dark Moon Pack? This has to be wrong. I was hallucinating–“Oh, I’m very real, Larisa,” Aurelia said to me like she could hear my thoughts. Yes, I was screaming them in my head but still, she…Argh! Aurelia chuckled, fueling my rage as she said, “For me, it’s good to see you again, Larisa because not only have I taken my rightful place as Raiden’s mate and Luna of this pack but I’m also his wife and the mother of his kids.” Her words ripped me apart, limb by limb. That was my biggest dream. To be everything to Raiden but she had always been in the way and now? Now she was living my dreams–“And of course, that’s the least of my achievements
