Third POV

Lily stood frozen, her gaze fixed on the tattoo adorning Clarissa's spine, a poignant reminder of her best friend, who had been lost to her forever.

The news of Eve’s disappearance had struck her hardest a year ago; Eve was more than just a friend she was like a sister. The pain of that loss was unbearable.

The car had been found charred and submerged in the river, yet Eve’s body was never recovered. The authorities had ruled her dead, claiming there was no way she could have survived such a devastating accident.

The guilt weighed heavily on Lily, knowing she hadn’t been there for her best friend when she needed her most.
