Logan's POV
When I wake up, I can’t stop thinking about what happened last night. I reach out for her in bed, hoping to feel her close to me, but she’s not there.
I jump out of bed, calling her name, but there’s no response.
I walk to the bathroom, but she’s not there either.
Back in the room, I spot an envelope and a note on the nightstand.
"I need time to reflect on what happened last night between us. Please understand that my choice isn’t about you. I left some money to cover my part of the hotel costs. Take care, Nadine."
Immediately, I pick up my phone and call one of my men.
"Good morning, sir."
"Good morning, Mark. Find that lady from last night."
"Yes, boss."
I head to the bathroom and freshen up, then my phone rings again. Mark’s voice comes through the line.
"Did you find her?" I ask, praying for a positive response.
"Yes, sir. She’s at the bridge."
"Damn it, tell me the location now."
I rush out of the hotel, one of the many I own. My chauffeur is already waiting in the car, and I quickly tell him where to go. "Hurry up!" I ordered.
"Yes, sir," he replies, immediately speeding off.
Anxiety floods me as we drive to the location. A thought crosses my mind, "go under the bridge." I instruct my chauffeur.
He swerves the car and accelerates.
"Boss, we’re here," his voice snaps me out of my thoughts.
In a split second, I exit the car.
That’s when I notice a body descending from the bridge above.
Without hesitation, I remove my jacket and leap into the river to save her.
I swim tirelessly, reaching her and pulling her to safety on the riverbank.
She’s shaking, struggling to breathe, and I hold her tight, trying to make her feel better. She feels so fragile. Tears rolled down her cheeks, and I felt relieved that I acted quickly.
More people gather at the riverbank, and one of my men calls my doctor. Soon, he arrives, checking her vitals and making sure she’s fine.
He advises me to let her rest. I thank him and take her back to the hotel. She drifts off to sleep.
I stay by her bedside, waiting for her to wake up. Then, I called my assistant. On the third ring, she picks up.
"Good morning, Mr. West."
"Clear my schedule for today." I give a firm command, not acknowledging her greeting. With that, I end the call, hoping for Nadine’s recovery.
After sleeping for a long time, she finally wakes up. She blinks, adjusting to the light in the room. She sits up and glances around.
"Where am I?" she asks, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Our eyes meet, and I see a glint of recognition in hers. Then, she relaxes back onto the bed, closing her eyes.
"You need to eat," I tell her as one of my men brings her food.
She hesitates, but when her stomach growls, she smiles and starts eating, while I watch her closely.
"You’re making me uncomfortable with your stare," she says.
I stay silent.
"Why did you save me? You should’ve let me escape from all this pain and torture," she pleads.
I remain quiet.
"Please say something," she begs.
"Nadine," I finally say.
She turns to me, surprised. "You know my name?"
I don’t reply to her questions and continue.
"Who are you?" she asks.
"I’m Logan West," I reply, forcing a smile in my best attempt to be cordial.
"I witnessed everything at the wedding."
Her expression changes to one of hurt, but I keep talking.
"I could tell you were hurt by what your sister and Jake did, and that’s why you decided to play the video at the wedding."
She takes a deep breath, tears welling in her eyes. "You’re right," she confesses, her voice shaky. "I was deeply hurt by their betrayal. I thought showing that video might help me get my revenge."
I look at her, frowning in confusion as I tap my fingers impatiently. "What, were you thinking of jumping into the river? You would’ve died from a pain you couldn’t bear if someone hadn’t come to your rescue."
She raises an eyebrow and sighs in resignation.
"Jake and Nathalie wouldn’t even notice you’re gone. Your parents might check on you out of guilt after a week, and by then, you would’ve been washed away from this world."
"You’d get no funeral, no grave, and no one would cry for you, while Jake and Nathalie live happily ever after. You could’ve gone to Jake and told him you’re dying because of him, trapping him in regret for the rest of his life. That’s better than dying painfully like a loser," I say, making her tremble with fear.
Tears fill her eyes. "Can you stop it already? Why are you so mean?"
"You don’t get it. My family hates me. I’m like an unwanted person in their lives, while my sister gets their attention without even trying," she says, tears streaming down her face.
I move closer, gently holding her in place.
"I’ll help you get your revenge on them," I say softly.
"Why are you doing this for me? I don’t even know you," she asks, looking deep into my eyes.
"That’s a good question. I have a proposal for you," I say, in a serious tone.
She furrowed her brows and gave me a questioning look. "What is it?" she asks.
Nadine's POVI wait eagerly for his response, but he stays silent for some time, his eyes locked on mine as if trying to read my thoughts. His intense gaze makes me uneasy, but I gather the courage to ask, "What is it?"He leans back, a smirk tugging at his lips, and finally reveals his proposition. "A contract marriage with me for two years. I'll help you get the revenge you need and settle your mother's medical bill," he says matter-of-factly.I’m shocked at how much he knows about me. My mother has been ill for quite some time, and my father has shown no concern whatsoever. Despite my father’s indifference, she still loves him unconditionally.I’ve tried several times to raise money on my own, but every attempt has failed. My mother’s health continues to deteriorate, and I feel helpless."How do you know so much about me? We’ve never met before," I blurt out, unable to contain my curiosity."I take pleasure in knowing about people who pique my interest," he replies with a stoic exp
Sinking into the softness of the couch, I gaze at the shimmering ring on my finger. How did my life change so suddenly?I was supposed to be Mrs. Nadine Bennett, but fate had other plans. Now, I’m married to none other than Logan West. He’s undeniably the most powerful man in the city. Though he keeps a low profile, his name alone strikes fear into the hearts of many. No one dares cross him; his presence commands authority and his very stance radiates power.Life with Logan has been a whirlwind of emotions. True to his word, he stays out of my affairs, and I do my best to stay out of his.I’m grateful I took a month off while preparing for my wedding with Jake. Now, I have time to figure out what it means to be Logan’s wife. After signing the contract, a priest came in to marry us, and a stranger signed as our witness. I went to see my mom afterward, and thankfully, her dialysis treatment for chronic kidney disease is going well. The media has been buzzing about Jake’s marriage to Na
She evaluates me with a piercing gaze as if sizing me up to see if I’m fit to be her son’s wife. I shake it off and square my shoulders, take a deep breath, stretch my hand, and say, “It’s nice to meet you, ma’am.”Suddenly, her face brightens into a warm smile, and she pulls me into a hug. I’m startled that she accepts me with open arms.“Logan, are you sure about her being your wife?” she asks, needing to confirm she heard correctly.“Yes, Mother, she is my wife. We’ve been married for quite some time now,” he explains, looking at me with emotions I can't put into words, with Logan one can't be sure he draws me closer and kisses me softly on the lips. It's like my heart stops breathing for a while as I stand there frozen taking in his kiss slowly and steadily like I have been expecting it.Logan’s kiss lingers, leaving me breathless, my heart racing with emotions, I can't put into words. I wonder if he feels this strange pull between us or if it’s just an act for him.“Oh, stop it,
Logan notices my unease and pulls me close in a protective way that makes my heart swell. Despite his stoic nature, he can tell that something is wrong. "Are you alright?" he whispers, his breath warm against my ear.I nod my head because words are caught in my throat. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the man who just entered. His gaze locks onto mine like he's not expecting to see me here. Of course, I didn’t think I’d meet him here. His eyes have always been my weak point. When I stare into them, I am always lost in those eyes. They held so many secrets. I remember how my heart pounded loudly in my chest with just a look from him. He’d been my crush for what felt like forever until he finally asked me out.But like every fairy tale, I foolishly clung to him, thinking he felt the same way about me.Even now, thinking about my time with him makes my stomach twist in disgust. It later dawned on me that I was just a pawn in his game, foolishly in love with someone who never cared. As D
The kiss is slow and sensual. I can tell whose lips are on mine as sparks erupt all around me, my body aching more for his touch. The feelings I had for him during our first night are still etched in my mind, and it's so damn hard to shake them off, no matter how I try.I know I shouldn't encourage this, so I slowly open my eyes. I'm not mistaken. It's Logan. My hand presses against his chest. My hands are weak because of how he makes me feel, but I try, gently pushing him away.“What’s wrong with you?” I whisper, but you can tell my voice is sharp, trying to hide how shaken I am by the inflow of emotions. His eyes are dark and filled with lust as they roam my body in a way that makes me shudder under his gaze. I can tell that he knows the effect he has on me.“This can’t happen.” Clutching my towel tightly, I back away, putting distance between us.I take a deep breath, fighting the pull that wants to drag me back to him. No matter how strong the attraction, I can't afford to lose c
The air in the room feels heavy with tension as I take my seat between Daniel and Lily. Daniel’s intense gaze follows my every move, while opposite me, Logan's eyes are fixated on me with a silent intensity. Around the table, they discuss lively, but I can’t shake the feeling of being out of place. I notice that Logan isn’t contributing much to the conversation; his answers are monotone. It’s evident that they all share a close bond that I only admire from the sidelines.“Nadine, I hope you’re enjoying your meal,” Florence says, her face lighting up with genuine happiness that I’m in Logan’s life.“Yes, ma,” I reply, bringing the glass of orange drink to my lips and taking a sip, trying to focus on the food in front of me as a distraction from the tension swirling around the table. Lily’s voice pulls me back to the present moment. “You know, Nadine, I was wondering how you and Logan met. I’m so glad love has finally found him.”Summoning every ounce of courage I can muster, I fix my
I turn to see Logan looking at me, his eyes filled with love and pride. A smile graces his lips as he mouths something I can't hear over the noise around us.Daniel notices where I’m looking, and his expression darkens. If looks could kill, Daniel would be six feet under. But Logan's gaze is like a thunderbolt, causing Daniel to stagger and almost lose his footing. With menacing steps, Logan closes the distance between them, tension crackling in the air as they lock eyes. It feels like they're on the brink of a confrontation, each daring the other to make a move.Feeling shaky and unsure, I summon every ounce of courage and move closer to Logan. As I draw nearer, Logan notices my shaken state. "Are you alright?" he asks softly. I nod, grateful for his presence.Meanwhile, the tension between Logan and Daniel reaches its peak, each refusing to back down from the silent standoff.Logan's voice cuts through the tension like a knife, dripping with warning and authority. "Stay away from
I woke up the next day, disoriented, not sure how I ended up in my room. Memories of last night’s dinner with Logan flood my mind, and I recall lying down on the couch. But I was alone in the house with him, which means Logan must have carried me to my room!A smile broadly knowing, I must have been a deep sleeper! Beneath his tough exterior, Logan has a kind heart. Just then, a soft knock on the door breaks the silence, and Logan enters, his presence filling the room.“Good morning, Nadine. Did you sleep well?” he asked in a deep husky voice that made my core clench. Damn, these hormones.“Good morning, Logan. Thanks, I did,” I reply, intentionally leaving out any details about our previous night’s interactions. I take a moment to gaze at him, my mind racing. How can someone be so sinfully hot? Logan seems like a species that needs to be studied, I silently muse, feeling his magnetic presence.Yet, I’m determined to uphold my part of the bargain: not falling in love. There’s always
Nadine's POV I need something to flush Logan out of my system. I’m not afraid to admit that he owns my heart in a way I can’t explain. Despite my efforts to stay away and be mad at him, I find myself craving more.He has a way of invading my space, and it’s becoming suffocating. If I don’t get a release soon, I might lose it.But I know I have to stay sane for my son. There are so many things I haven’t achieved yet. With that in mind, I decided to go to the club today. I need to let loose, dance, and drink if only to forget that one incredibly sexy guy is my baby daddy—and was once my husband.Thank goodness we’re finally free to date and sleep with whoever we want now that the contract is out of the way.Rosa has put Shawn to bed, and I’m grateful I won’t have to answer questions about my whereabouts tonight.I slip into a short gown that falls well above my knees, style my hair, and apply makeup, giving myself smoky eyes and bold red lips.I take a good look in the mirror and feel
Logan's POV I regret giving Nadine the contract termination because right now I'm in a terrible place.I avoid going back to the house, not wanting to see her face, which haunts me with every step I take.Asher has been kind enough to let me stay at his place, but after a week, it’s getting old.“You have to get your act together and go home,” Asher says, with frustration in his voice. “You can’t just think about yourself. You have Nadine and your son, Shawn, to consider.”“Don’t you think I know that?” I snap. “I can’t bear the thought of seeing her face, knowing I hurt her.”“But you want her back, right? You want to make things right after that contract you both signed?”“Yes, Asher.”“Then grow up and go win her back. How do you expect to do that while you’re holed up here at my place?”I take a deep breath, the weight of his words sinking in. “I just don’t know how to face her,” I admit.Asher leans back, crossing his arms. “You have to start somewhere. You can’t keep running aw
My jaw drops, and my eyes widen in shock as I glance between Shawn and Rosa, unable to form a single coherent word. I see the concern mirrored in both of their eyes as I stare at the object in Rosa's hands.“W-where did you get this?” I stutter, turning fully to Rosa, desperate for an explanation.“Mr. West stopped by and said I should give it to you,” she replies.“Oh? That’s... thoughtful of him,” I manage to say, reaching out as she hands me the flower. It’s the exact flower Logan ordered at the shop. The scent is unmistakable—so strong, I thought it had followed me home from work. All this time, I had convinced myself the flower was for some random woman he was seeing. The idea had left me grumpy, my mood spiraling into a headache that drove me to leave work early. But now, the truth is staring back at me—the flower was meant for me all along. My heart skips a beat, and my mind floods with a whirlwind of thoughts, none of them lingering long enough to make sense. I glance back at
Suddenly, I start to feel grumpy, and I can’t quite explain it. Maybe it’s the sight of Logan ordering flowers for someone else, or maybe it’s the headache that’s slowly building behind my eyes. Either way, I know I need to leave the shop and get home.“Hey, you all take care. I think I’m coming down with a headache and need to get home to rest,” I say to Ava, trying to keep my voice steady. She gives me a concerned look. “Oh no, I’m so sorry! Please take all the time you need. We’ll manage Petals and Bloom just fine.”I nod. “Thanks, Ava. I know I can count on you guys.”With that, I step out of the shop. The cold breeze sweeps across my face, and I shiver at the sudden chill. The cool air helps, but not enough to lift the heaviness pressing on my chest. The tension in my body begins to ease, but my mind is still wrapped up in thoughts of Logan and everything I’m desperate to forget. I walk slowly, my steps feel heavy, with the thought frustrating me with how much they still affect
Nadine's POV I never know what to expect from Logan. After he hands me the contract termination, I’m left in a whirlwind of emotions. I don't know if I should be happy, scream, or just sit in silence. I walk away, with all of it heavy on me, making my chest tighten as I make my way to my room.Once in my room, I curl up in bed, trying to numb my mind. But thoughts of Logan keep coming to my mind, and each thought is more piercing than the last.I know I often talk about the contract like it was a mistake from the start, but now that he wants me gone, it feels like a part of me is being ripped away. My chest tightens, as if life itself is being squeezed out of me.What happens now? I realize I’ve been too dependent on others—first Ethan, now Logan. It has to stop. For two days, Logan didn’t come home. I call, but it all goes to voicemail, the silence is haunting. With a final resolve, I tell myself it’s time to focus on me and my son.I sit up in bed, pushing aside the blankets with
“Hello, Logan. Long time no see,” she says, her voice slurring just slightly, though she tries hard to stand steady. Her eyes darted around, as she swayed in her step. I know we have unfinished business between us. The last time we crossed paths, she’d threatened me—furious when those pictures of her tangled in bed with Elliot Jones surfaced. And then, it hits me. Elliot Jones... Elliot Jones. He’s Ethan and Mason’s brother. How did I miss that? The smallest, most crucial detail—suddenly clear. She glances over her shoulder, eyes looking around with unease, and my gut twists. Something is off. Instinct kicks in. “Are you okay?” I ask, stepping closer, in a low voice. She glances around again, with nervous energy. “Why wouldn’t I be okay?” she asks, in a tight voice, though she still scans the crowd.“Come here.” Without waiting for a response, I grab her arm and pull her outside, away from the lights and deafening music. We step into the cool night air, where the bass from the club
Logan’s POV Every time we talk, it’s the same. She brings up the contract as if that’s all there is between us. Each day I'm reminded of my selfishness. I made her sign it when I should have wooed her and fought for her like a man who knows what he wants. But after Samantha left me at the altar, I couldn’t bear the thought of more heartache. I needed something secure, something easy. I loved Nadine long before her wedding to Jake. I knew it was wrong, but desperation had me conspiring with Nathalie, pushing things to unfold the way they did. It wasn’t right, but my heart didn’t care about right and wrong. Now, I stand in front of her, watching her hesitate as she holds the envelope I’ve just handed over. Her eyes narrow in suspicion. I see it, and I know I’m asking a lot. But I have to try."Just open it, Nadine," I say.Her gaze stays locked on mine. Slowly, carefully, she lifts the envelope, her fingers grazing mine in the process. That familiar spark undeniable, electric surges
Nadine's POV Logan’s gaze locks on me, his Adam's apple bobbing as he watches me shower in his bathroom. I’m not sure where this sudden boldness came from, but I know one thing—I want to drive him crazy, tease him, and finally satisfy the ache that’s been building inside me for years. It’s been four fucking long years, and no amount of toys has ever come close to the way Logan makes me feel. The tension between us has been simmering, and now, I’m ready to enjoy it because he is close by and I’ve been craving it.Stepping out of the shower, I lean in close to his ear, my breath hot against his skin. “That was a great fuck, how about we do this again—no strings attached?” my lips brushing his ear.For a moment, he stiffens, his eyes darting away as if trying to compose himself. I catch the trace of emotions in his eyes: desire, conflict, maybe something more. But before I can read deeper into it, he looks away, leaving me wondering what’s going through his mind.I know he wants more,
Logan's POV I crash my lips on hers, I'm not letting her go this time. The way she affects me without even trying is so incredibly sexy that every time I see her, I can’t help but feel a jolt of desire.I miss her so damn much. Right now, I’m enjoying every moment as I take in all of her through this kiss.At first, she doesn’t respond, but I smile, knowing deep down she feels the same way I do. She eventually kisses me back with a fiery passion, her hands burning with intensity. What was I thinking, dragging her into my room? Is this really how I want to win her back?As I deepen the kiss, my mind races. The warmth of her lips, the way her hands grip me, it all makes me question my approach. Is this the right way to show her how much I need her, or am I just pushing too hard?I’ve been so consumed by my desire and regret that I didn’t stop to think if this was what she wanted and if this was the right way to win her back. But beneath the passion, I’m haunted by doubts. As her lips
