SCARLETT'S POV I had just finished showing Palo Bryant around the various departments of the company except one _ the sales management department, Imogen is the head of this department. At the moment, Palo and I are proceeding there after just leaving the operations management department. The introduction was easy and surprisingly fun, the staffs all seem to like him so far as it was obvious from their smiles and welcoming aura. Most of the time, I caught Palo's eyes on me but whenever our gaze locked, he didn't look elsewhere instead he would flash me his beautiful smile that seemed to always gets me enthralled. In the end, I was the one looking away and avoiding his eyes _ I have been doing much of that for a while now and I am certain his smartass must have noticed. We arrived the sales management general office and I was about to walk towards the entrance when Palo caught me by the wrist, leaned closer to me and whispered beside my ear words that made blood instant
ASHTON'S POV We arrived the company and Scarlett's friend kept following me about, she clearly didn't know her way around. She kept gushing about how huge and elegant the building was. As we walked, I was greeted by several staffs and their curious eyes lingered on us before we took the elevator to the floor my office was located. Skylar remained close to me the whole time as though afraid she was going to get lost if she didn't stay so close. She was so close I could even smell the fragrance of her wavy brown curls. Such familiar scent!Wait. This smells like the one I use on my hair sometimes.Good heavens! Does she use male shampoo wash on her hair? Just as the elevator door opened at my office floor, I took a moment to look at her properly. She had cinnamon skin, a model body and height close to Scarlett's. She looked bright and gorgeous with an aura of contagious positive energy around her. I couldn't help but wonder if she was always this excited and cheerful.
SCARLETT'S POV I was lost in my thoughts as I read through mother's Journal. She was a great philanthropist and as her only daughter, I have been enjoying the fruits of her good deeds during her lifetime. I couldn't help but wonder if I would ever be able to live up to her reputation or sow half of her good deeds during my own lifetime. She was really great and though I have no memories of her, or rather, I didn't know who she was since she died after my birth, it still feels like I've known her for long. Maybe because she left me in good hands and took extra measures to guide me right even in death. I feel really indebted and grateful to her and I wish I could see her again _ even if in my dreams. I knew I couldn't rest until I bring Harriet down and make her have a taste of the deadly poison she made, decades ago. Slowly and surely, I would certainly achieve my goals. I am sure she would be getting a hit soon but this is only little compared to what's coming afte
NARRATIVE "So?" Harriet took a sip from her cup of espresso, her eyes rolled over her twin kids before finally settling on her son, Ashton. "You plan to just believe everything your father said?" She continued and Ashton was taken aback by his mother's words. Harriet felt greatly disappointed by this news. Jamie Grey was hell-bent on ruining her plans but she was never going to let him succeed. How dare he asked her much capable son to be an assistant to his obviously incapable yet inexperienced daughter? Just because she was birthed legitimately? Harriet knew she wasn't going to let Jamie have his way this time. She regretted why she had been so relaxed no matter the position her kids had in the company for the past few years. She never fought Jamie or did anything to provoke him for fear that he might take it out on their children. She never watched his moves because she had been so relaxed and certain that there wasn't ever going to be an obstacle in her path in the futu
NARRATIVE It was a busy night in the Grey's family manor. While Scarlett was busy showing Skylar around the manor, Imogen had taken it upon herself to supervise the kitchen staffs today. She had also been in charge of picking out the diverse meals for dinner. Ashton was relaxing in the game room and Harriet was busy holding a secret online meeting with her team in her room. The moment Imogen heard of the chairman's arrival, she hurried out to meet him. "Father," she ran over and hugged him. "It is so good to have you home again. I had the staff prepared most of your favourite meals, so be ready to dine well tonight." She grinned at him. Jamie Grey smiled over Imogen's enthusiasm and allowed her cling to his arm as she escorted him into the large, grand living room. She seemed to be making an effort to change and he wasn't surprised. Afterall, Finley had informed him she resumed work today and had behaved well too. He would watch her for some months and if she did well, he
NARRATIVE Few days later, some meetings had been held amongst the board of directors and top shareholders of JP's Enterprise, concerning the appointment of a CEO, a vice and a COO. Votes were made and at the end, the votes were counted and the results announced. Then a press release was made, notifying the public and announcing Scarlett Heidi Grey as the new Chief Executive Officer of JP's Enterprise and Ashton Grey as the Vice, as well as Palo Bryant as the Chief Operations Officer. This was only possible due to the fact that majority of the votes had been on Scarlett's favor. Thanks to the Chairman Grey's efforts of course. The news had come as a huge shock to Harriet, she almost couldn't believe it, until she had contacted her people and had affirmed the situation of things. She had no right in the board meeting so she couldn't be there. She could only be informed by her people; the ones she could control because of the secrets she knew of them. Unfortunately for
NARRATIVE In an exquisite villa in Erdington, a group of people sat around a large dining table, discussing over dinner. This villa was Chairman Grey's private residence and he usually used it to host private meetings such as this. The group of six comprised of the chairman himself and five others; Scarlett Grey _ his daughter, Aimee Brooke _ her foster mom, Finley _ his PA, Madame Freya _ a trusted top shareholder and close friend to his late wife and lastly, Lexi _ Scarlett's personal assistant and undercover hacker whom he had assigned to her. "Now that Scarlett has been successfully appointed CEO of JP's Enterprise, I think we can now move on to the next step." Aimee Brooke said, and the others nodded in approval. She flew in earlier in the day, hours after Scarlett was voted in as CEO. And Scarlett had been more than grateful to see her mom again. Even though Aimee was just her foster mom now, Scarlett knew she would never consider her anything less than her moth
SCARLETT'S POV The week after I became CEO of JP's Enterprise was a hectic one for me. I had never been that busy all my life but I knew it was worth it all. Of course, my Dad, my foster mom, Madame Freya, Lexi and others were there to assist me too and I was grateful for that. This was the life I was destined to live. And although I didn't start living such life on time, it didn't matter now as I could still survive in it. It would take a while but I was bound to adjust to the system soon. Some days ago, I had meetings with the COO, vice CEO and the team leaders of each department in the company. The agenda of these meetings had been to know how we could move the company even more further in the business world. And of course, I had listened to the suggestions of everyone and had taken note of the most excellent points. Presently, I was having a chat over coffee with Chairman Kwan of Song and Kwan group, the famous KK, in one of the outdoor terrace of JP's Enterprise.
