I giggle and try to push away Theo in a futile attempt to get away from him, he growls lowly in warning and pushes me further in the field of flowers whilst attacking my neck with kisses.
"Stop!" I chuckle as the hairs of his light beard graze my cheeks, Theo is quick to find my sensitive spot and wastes no time in attacking it.
My protests soon turn into moans, my hands that were pushing him away were now tangled in his hairs pulling him in for more.
His strong hands roam around the length of my body, grazing the newly formed curves. His hand stops at the hem of my sundress.
My breathe hitches knowing very well what his intentions were "Theo stop" I mumble softly while giving his chest a slight push. Thankfully he stops and pulls away lying beside me.
Just as I was about to take in a breathe of relief, he pulls me above him. Laying me on top of his chest. His arms wrap around my body, I sense him taking in a whiff of my hairs and exhaling a pleasured sigh.
We stay like this for some time and I loose myself deep in my thoughts. "Stop it" Theo's voice shakes me out of my reverie.
"What?" I look up at him, resting my chin on his newly developed muscled chest. My wolf purrs in appreciation as an image of Theo working out in the gym this morning flashes in my mind.
"Now you're blushing" he says cocking an amused brow, his head was resting on one of his biceps.
I roll my eyes at his comment "it's the heat" I say looking around us in the open field. Ofcourse I was lying, the weather was good today with blowing wind, there was no sign of heat.
"I know I'm hot, but I had no idea that I could rise the temperature with my hotness" he winks at me playfully, I slap his chest with a chuckle.
Theo is unfazed by it, he chuckles with me, then his face contours into a serious expression "what is bothering you Celeste?" He asks tilting my chin so I can stare into his beautiful eyes.
I take in his breathtaking features, his honey eyes that are filled with love and adoration, all for me.
His straight nose tempts me to poke it and I do just that with my pointer finger, his full lips curve into a big smile at my action.
My finger then moves the few stray strands of brown hair away from his forehead. My finger then travel down towards his cheek, I pinch it strongly which results in him scrunching his bushy brows.
My finger finally grazes his firm jaw, a picture of a small Theo flashes in my mind. I can't believe how far we've come.
From being two trouble making best friends to lovers and then finally mat..
All my worries come pouring out all of a sudden, I look away as my eyes tear up. I can't bear it.
Theo is quick to sit straight and adjusts me in his lap sideways, he takes hold of my cheeks and lifts up my head. He has a dark expression etched on his face now.
"Who hurt you?" He asks possessively, his grip tightening with each word. I place my hand on top of his and loosen their hold a bit.
I draw circles on top of his hands with my thumbs, "no one hurt me, no one has the courage to do so. They know they would be facing your wrath, if they even look at me the wrong way" I tilt my head and place a feathery kiss on his right wrist to calm him down.
It works as I see his breathing turn back to normal, "then why the tears?" he asks with concern as his eyes search mines.
"I- it's just- you're turning 18 tonight" I look away and shut my eyes, my heart beats irregularly in a rapid pace.
Theo grabs my shoulders in a firm grip and gives me a small jerk, I open my eyes in surprise and look up at him.
His eyes were now red, I feel his nails elongating on my shoulders. Before he could pierce my skin I grip his cheeks to get him in control "Theo" I say quickly. His wolf was surfacing.
His nails stop growing but his eyes remain red, he blinks them few times before they turn back to their natural color.
He looks at me with a hard stare "tonight I will be turning 18, I will sense my mate, that is you! YOU are my mate Celeste and tonight it will be proven as well, and when it is... I won't waste a single second claiming you as mine!" He snakes his hands around my waist and pulls me harshly to his chest.
His lips wander near my left ear, I close my eyes in anticipation "no one would be able to stop me, not even you my love" he places a soft kiss behind my ear that takes my breath away.
But the rational side of my brain pokes me, I open my eyes and pull away a bit so I can stare in his eyes "and what if I am not to be your mate Theo?" I ask the impending question that has been looming in my head since the day Theo and I decided to be together.
We are not humans, we are werewolves. We can't just be with anyone we desire, the moon goddess has made us in pairs and at a certain time we are destined to meet them and spend our entire life with them.
If Theo and I don't end up as mates tonight then w- we must part our ways, the thought alone is enough to break me. I have always loved Theo, since even before he proposed to me to be his girlfriend.
He is the only guy I can see myself spending my life with, "Stop it Celeste!" Theo's booming voice startles me out of my running thoughts. He harshly wipes my cheeks making me realise that I had been infact crying.
"No more of these absurd thoughts! Do you hear me?" He says in a firm tone while holding me close. I bury my face in his chest, inhaling his scent that makes my toes curl.
"Promise me, promise me Theo.. That whatever happens tonight.." "Celeste!" He warns with a low growl. "Just let me say it!" I pull away and look up at him.
He stays silent, so I continue "if I am not to be your mate tonight.." he is about to stop me but my glare shuts him up, he clenches his fist and nods for me to keep going "we will still remain best friends, nothing will come between our friendship." I finish with a shuddering inhale.
If I can't have him as a mate, I can still keep him close as a friend. Loosing him altogether would be unbearable.
He keeps staring at me blankly, I plead him with my eyes to make this promise. His jaw clenches, he looks away before returning back his piercing gaze on me "I promise" he grits out the words.
I close my eyes as the promise gives me a soothing sense, letting me know that no matter what, I won't be loosing him completely.
